"A ride?" I asked in shock.

Bryan nodded, smiling.

"Why?"

"I dunno I just want to go for a ride. And I could use the company so I don't do anything stupid," he winked.

Why did that make my stomach flutter like that?

I smiled and nodded. "Okay, let's go."

After changing into jeans, a t-shirt and a jacket, I met Bryan outside where he was waiting next to his bike.

"How good of a driver are you?" I asked wearily, eyeing the contraption next to him.

"It's fine darling, don't worry. I won't let anything happen to you," he promised. I could see the amusement in his eyes and I huffed.

"Alright." I walked over to him and his bike and bit my lip.

I was going to look like an idiot trying to get on and off of this huge- woah!

I gasped as I was lifted in the air before being set down on the bike like I weighed nothing. When my mind was able to catch up with what just happened, I looked up to see Bryan laughing at me. He handed me one of the helmets he had before putting on his own.

Without saying a word he got on in front of me.

"Better hold on Scarlett!" He chuckled.

I rolled my eyes and wrapped my arms around his waist tightly, only slightly concerned about suffocating him.

He started up the bike and I almost jumped at the sudden loud noise and the feeling of the bike vibrating my whole body.

However, as soon as we were on the road my body seemed to calm down and almost melt into Bryan.

There was something about being on the back of the bike that was extremely calming. I don't know if it was the feeling of the wind rushing by me, the blurred trees that we sped by, or just the fact that I knew that I was safe with Bryan.

I closed my eyes and just enjoyed the feeling of serenity that passed through my body.

I opened my eyes and looked around when I felt the road change from asphalt to dirt suddenly. Confused, I kept my eyes peeled for any signs as to where Bryan was taking me.

After a few minutes the path that we're were on cleared and in front of us was a small cliff.

Bryan parked the bike and got off before helping me off as well.

"This place is beautiful," I said in awe. Cautiously I walked to the edge of the cliff and saw a huge river below. I heard Bryan come and stand beside me but I was too engrossed in the view to really take notice.

"My father used to bring me here all the time," he spoke quietly. I turned my attention away from the river and looked at him. His eyes were staring at the water below, but it seemed as if he wasn't entirely focused on it. As if he were reliving the memories.

"He took me here whenever he wanted to take a break from the club, or whenever I got in trouble. Which was a lot," he chuckled. "We used to bring chairs and watch the sunset together. My mom died when I was young so I never really got to have an truly emotional bond with her, but my dad made up for that. He always let me know that I was loved, and to love the people around me who were in the club."

"He sounds like a good man," I whispered.

"He was," Bryan smiled. "After my mom died when I was young my father tried so hard to fill in her place by doing whatever he could to make me happy. He never remarried after he lost my mom. Whenever someone asked why he always used to say that he could never find another woman that would ever even compare to how great my mom was. She was the queen of the club, and like a mother to everyone around. No one ever fought when she was around, and if you got in trouble you were the poor soul who got your butt beat with her famous wooden spoon," we both laughed.

"She died when a rival MC attacked up one day. They had a vendetta against my dad for something that he had done years prior, and they were never able to let it go. No one knew."

He paused and I teared up when I saw a single tear trail down his cheek.

"She was taken and tortured for months. No matter how hard my dad and the club tried, no one could find her. They even got the FBI involved."

I moved and placed one of my hands on his back when I saw him bite his lip.

"You don't have to say anymore," I whispered softly.

When he looked at me I could see the pain in his eyes.

"When they found her, the man who took her was waiting. I wasn't there obviously, but I've been told about what happened. He shot her. Right in front of my dad," he finished.

I swallowed and blinked back my tears that were threatening to fall.

"I know it doesn't make the pain go away, but I am so sorry Bryan."

"Thank you. I know you mean it," he whispered.

"What happened to your dad?" I asked hesitantly.

He sighed. "He buried himself in paperwork. Normally the club doesn't have a lot of paperwork unless it's for the businesses it owns, and he just chose to take on more of a workload to get his mind off of the pain. I did the same thing when I lost my first daughter," he admitted.

I nodded. "I did the same thing once Adam got arrested. I was so angry at myself for not ending it sooner, or for not getting others involved sooner. I started booking more appointments and working more and more hours. I know the feeling. You think your work will take the pain away when really all it does it cause a distraction."

Bryan nodded in agreement. We stood there in silence for a few moments before he let out a small laugh.

"You know, this is going to sound strange and you can hate me after this, but ever since the whole ordeal with Bethany all those years ago, I haven't truly felt attracted to any woman since. I have had my flings in the past, but I was never truly attracted to them. I had never been attracted to a woman since," he paused. "Until I met you," he finished as he looked at me.

I could see the fear of rejection in his gaze as his eyes bore intensely into me, waiting for a reaction.

How was I supposed to react when a very attractive man said that he was attracted to me?

"I'm not going to lie," I sighed. "I find you very attractive." I looked up to see him smiling down at me.

"But," I said suddenly, pointing a finger up at him. Immediately his smile disappeared. "I don't want to progress into anything serious until this bullshit with Adam is taken care of. I don't need him finding out that I'm in a semi-relationship with the president of the club because that won't go down well and he would do anything he could to make sure you die. And I'm not about to let that happen," I told him strongly.

He nodded slowly. "I understand that. But could we still have some form of a relationship? Like something more than friends but not quite dating? And then once this is all over maybe we could try something more serious?" He asked.

I thought about it for a few moments. Honestly, I was very attracted to Bryan. The only thing stopping me from getting into a complete relationship with him is the fact that if Adam found out he would stop at nothing to make sure that Bryan ended up dead.

"We could give it a shot. Slowly start progressing into a relationship, and then when this is all over see if we would actually work as a couple. Lilly wouldn't be opposed to it right?" I asked. I didn't want to date him if his daughter wouldn't approve of it.

"Trust me, she would love to have you as a mother," he said while smiling. For the first time since I met him, his eyes were gleaming with a hint of happiness.

I grinned. "Okay, then let's start our special relationship right now then."

He bit his lip and looked down at the ground before looking back at me.

"Can I kiss you?"

"What happened while you guys were on the ride?" Jessie asked as her, Miranda, Kali, and Lilly all sat around me at the bar. Smiles even came over and stayed after he handed us all out drinks.

"I want to know the drama details too," is all that he had to say about it.

I sighed. "We went to a special area of his to talk. We both talked about how we're attracted to each other but about how I don't want to get into a actual relationship with him right now because if Adam finds out about it he will try even harder to kill him and that's the last thing I want. So we decided to do a "special" relationship. One a little bit more than friends, but not quite dating," I explained.

They all looked at each other with small smirks on their faces.

"And what else happened out there?" Miranda asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked. I took a drink of my lemonade to hide the small smile that started to form on my face.

Kali rolled her eyes. "No girl comes into a building after going out with a man smiling and blushing like you were. He even looked like he had won the lottery."

I laughed at them as they all wiggled their eyebrows at me.

"Well..."

"Can I kiss you?" He asked.

"What?" I looked at him, startled. That was one of the last things that I expected him to say.

"Can I kiss you?" He repeated slowly, turning his whole body to where he was facing me. While my mind was trying to process that he actually wanted to kiss me, he took the opportunity to place his hands on my waist and step closer to me.

"You actually want to kiss me?" I asked.

He smiled and nodded.

"I've wanted to kiss you for awhile now actually."

I grinned and wrapped my arms around his neck. I could see his excitement as I pulled his head down closer to mine.

"So have I."

I whispered before I leaned up and connected our lips. The wait was worth it because the moment our lips touched was like heaven. I had never believed people when they said that they felt sparks when they've kissed someone but damn, it felt like fireworks were going off from the moment our lips touched to when we pulled away from each other.

We both were reluctant to pull away but we knew that oxygen was an important thing.

Although, even though we pulled away so we could breathe we stayed close together, savoring the moment as we caught our breath.

"I think that was the best kiss I've ever had," Bryan whispered.

"Me too," I smiled.

"And I'm about to have another one."

When I finished the small group around me who had been listening intently smirked.

"Well Lilly, looks like you're gonna have a stepmom in the future," Key laughed.

Lilly grinned and stood up so she could give me a hug. "I'm so glad that you make him happy. Although, just know if you hurt him I will be very upset with you and probably will hurt you too," she warned. I could see the amount of love that she had for her father and I could tell that she also wasn't kidding. She was prepared to defend him with all that she had.

"I promise you, I won't hurt him. I'll treat him like a king," I told her.

"You better."

She moved to sit back down and I turned to see Kali pouting at me.

"What?"

"Why can you find someone and I can't?" She whined.

I rolled my eyes and took a sip of my drink.

"You'll find someone eventually Kali. They might not even be in this club, you never know," I told her. "Although, if you keep having one night stands you won't really get the chance to find someone worth loving."

She sighed and nodded. "Yeah you're right. From this day forth I vow to have no one night stands and to only look for someone I want to have a future with," she declared. I snorted.

"I wish you the best of luck."

I yawned and looked at the time to see that it was almost midnight.

"I'm going to go to bed guys. Sleep well," I told everyone while standing up. Smiles took my empty glass after he said goodnight and I began to make my way downstairs to my room.

Laying in bed that night, I allowed myself to fall asleep with a slight smile on my face.
