《The Greek God》6

After school, I walked my way home. Why? Because I'm still freaking out by the fact that sixteen year olds are allowed to drive. Also, I'm too lazy to get my licence. Anyways. After a ten minute walk, I got home, grabbed an apple and went to my room. I was planning on studying for my upcoming tests, so I turned my phone off and began studying.

I stopped once I heard Oliver get home, so I turned my phone on and began scrolling through Instagram and other social media's. It wasn't until I received a message from an unknown number.

There's still some of your mother's stuff that you forgot to take with you. I thought about giving it to charity but what's the fun in that ;) so, I threw them away. Well, all except for that beautiful necklace. You know, the one with the little diamond? Maybe I can auction it, you never know how much money I can get with that item.

Xoxo Laura, your step mother.

Fury took over me, I screamed and threw my phone to the wall. Oliver came rushing down the stairs.

"What the hell was that noise?" He frantically asked. He looked around until he saw my cracked phone. His eyes widened as he read the message.

"¡PERO ESA PUTA QUE COJONES HACE!" Oliver bellowed.

("WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT BITCH DOING!")

I exhaled and walked into my wardrobe. Picked out my sports bra, leggings and trainers and walked out to get changed.

"I don't know what the fuck her problem is" I calmly responded whilst I was tying my hair "but I'm don't want to deal with it now. I'm going for a run." Oliver nodded handed me my cracked phone. Grabbing my headphones, I left the house and ran.

Pumped up kids was blasting through the headphones as I ran. My legs were burning begging for me to stop.

Stop, can't you see? There's nothing you can do!

I refuse to back down.

I know this isn't about the necklace

It's not. It's about how she treats my mother

Your mother is dead.

STOP!

I stopped, and dropped to my knees and cried. I didn't care if I was in the middle of the road and that the sky had darkened. I didn't care. I cried and cried. For my mother, for Emília and for the girl that witnessed two lifeless bodies.

It wasn't until I saw the neighbours light turn on and a shadow appear on one of the windows. I stood up, used the back of my hand to wipe the tears away and ran back home.

I woke up with a headache. Groaning, i went to the shower and hopped in. After ten minutes, I walked into my wardrobe and picked out a white t shirt and a denim skirt alongside with some short black boots. I went into the kitchen and placed my bag onto the counter and grabbed a bowl and added milk and cereal.

Yes, I add milk before my cereal. Give me a break people!

As I munched, Oliver walked in and kissed me on the forehead.

"How you feeling?" He cautiously asked.

"I don't know." I answered truthfully.

"Well, I would drive you but, I can't decide what to wear so..."

"It fine" I chuckled "I'll just walk."

I kissed him goodbye, grabbed my lunch and walked to school.

As soon as I walked in, I felt a lot of stares as heard people whisper.

"She's the girl."

"Is she insane?"

"What was she thinking?"

My brows furrowed with confusion and scanned the corridor for the girls. I stopped until I saw a girl with flaming red hair. Relieved, I walked towards Gigi and as soon as she saw me, she grabbed me by the forearm and dragged me to an empty corridor, where Stephanie and Chelsea were waiting.

"Thank god you pulled me, I was beginning to freak out with all the-" I began.

"You're so screwed." Stephanie began.

"Do you have any idea what you've done?" Chelsea complained.

I looked at the girls with confusion and asked for an explanation, which Gigi thankfully gave.

"Since the day you humiliated and stood up to Daniel, rumours have been going on."

"So?"

"You're the rumour of the week."

"Ok and?"

"well there are rumours that Daniel is going to kill you." I bursted out laughing. Wow. Really?

"Oh god" I tried to say between laughter "you're kidding right? He wants to kill me?" I wiped a tear away. Well this lightened my mood.

But the girls looked at each other with concern. "There was a guy that stood up to him and called him a prick. The next day, his house was empty, he and his family moved out of town." Stephanie explained.

"Well that must be coincidence. Besides, it's just a rumour. I don't believe them." It was true. I refused to believe rumours ever since they spread rumours of Emília being pregnant with Mateo's child in my old school. Nonsense.

The girls sighed as the bell rung, Chelsea and Stephanie moaned as they had history, but I jumped with excitement as I had Spanish whilst Gigi complained. I mean, Spanish sucks, but I'm excited to see what they're doing in class.

"How you're doing Spanish if you are Spanish?"

"Just curious, besides, I don't want to stop speaking the language." I shrugged.

One thing that I didn't want to do was speak in Spanish in class, well I had to at some point, but I didn't want to be the centre of attention.

"Are you going to show those bitches you're accent?" Gigi teased as we walked to class. I chuckled and shook my head.

"I just don't like to be the centre of attention, plus, in my old school in Spain, I was bullied for speaking in English." Gigi looked at me with a shocked expression.

"They just thought I was trying hard and I was a kiss ass." I explained.

"Don't worry, I'll try and help you out." Gigi winked as we got into class.

During the Spanish lesson, the teacher didn't make me read out loud. Thank god. I refuse to be the centre of attention. Within five minutes into the lesson, the door swung open and the Greek god himself came in.

"Señor Matthews, ¿por qué llega tarde?"

("Mr Matthews, why are you late?")

Daniel shrugged and looked for an empty seat. There was one at the end of the classroom. Even though I was next to the window, I could see the reflection of the seat perfectly. Like a mirror. The teacher gave us a handout to do for the rest of the class period. I finished mine within 30 seconds and throughout the whole class, I helped Gigi with hers as she obviously didn't pay attention.

"So, el pretérito perfecto is-" I began explaining.

"Dude check it out, Daniel can't stop looking at you." Gigi whispered. I rolled my eyes and continued to explain her the tenses.

"He won't stop looking." Gigi reminded me.

"Gigi, I don't care if he looks, just focus on this." I whisper-yelled pointing at the paper.

"But this is too boring!" She whined.

"Well la vida es una mierda." I smugly smiled.

("Well life is shit.")

"Oh come on! Don't speak Spanish to me!"

I chuckled and gave the 'sorry about it' look. Whilst she was doing her work, I looked into the window, and saw the people who had a free period outside. As I watched, I noticed Daniel in the reflection looking. Well, staring intently at my direction. I turned around to see if I was hallucinating. But I wasn't. Daniel Matthews was watching me. Shivers went down my spine as I stared back at him. We sat like this for 30 seconds until Gigi asked me to check her answers, which she had all right.

I'm an awesome teacher.

"Okay escuchad todo el mundo." The teacher began. "El lunes que viene tenéis un control sobre el tiempo verbal." All the students groaned. All except me. This shit was easy.

("Ok listen up. You guys have a test on the verbal tenses next Monday.")

I caught Gigi looking at me and I sighed. "Yes I will help you." As I chuckled. The bell rang and we got our stuff and left. Gigi and I met the girls at the lunch table.

"Ok, so." Gigi began. "I have to eat early and be out on my free period cause I'm going to Austin's campus."

"Is this the surprise visit you're talking about?" I asked as she wiggled her eyebrows.

"Ok, but, if you come earlier than expected, I'll be at the entrance ok?" I told her.

She kissed us all goodbye and left, whilst the rest of us ate our food.

The bell signalled the end of lunch, Stephanie went to calculus whilst Chelsea hadj gym. Each of them went to different directions whilst I looked for a quiet place. I found the pit grass at the entrance of the school a good place. So, I lied down, put my headphones and blasted some music.

After several minutes, I was in the middle of Back in Black by AC/DC when I heard someone cry. I took my headphones out and my eyes widened.

Gigi was crying.

I jolted up and ran towards her.

"Hey what happened?" I frantically asked.

"H-he c-c-cheated o-on m-me" she struggled to say.

"WHAT?" I shouted.

"I-I went t-to his r-r-room and I caught h-him having s-sex w-with h-her!" She sobbed as I pulled her to my chest as her 5'3 body wrapped around my 5'8 body.

"Who was the girl?" I cautiously asked.

"Mikaela." She whispered.

That slag.

"I swear I'm going to kill her." I hissed.

"No don't worry. I already broke her nose." She sadly chuckled.

"I just don't think I'll ever be that happy again." She sadly sighed, causing my heart to break.

She pulled away "I'm going home, I can't go to class right now." I nodded understanding.

Watching her fiery hair disappear from afar my heart broke. I was worried. Worried that I'll lose her.

Just like I lost Emília.
