《MC's Viking Warriors- Rogue #5》Katie

Sighing, I press ignore on another of Grace's calls. She just doesn't seem to get the message, my father says I'm not to call her again, and honestly I don't want to talk to her either. She tricked me into coming to a party and I got harassed by someone.

I shudder as I remember the feeling of his hand gripping on my thigh. Biting my lip, I pull the edge of the blanket up to my chin as I continue watching 101 Dalmatians.

"Hey monkey," my dad calls as he returns from the kitchen with a huge bowl of popcorn. After what happened with Grace, my Friday nights have returned to being father, daughter Disney fest.

My earliest memories of my childhood is curling up with my father under a big blanket with popcorn and a Disney film.

"Hey dad," I grin up at him, to show him that I am truly ok. He doesn't need to know that my stomach is still churning after that boy's hand on me.

"So, what did I miss?" He teases, we have easily watched this film one hundred times, but the joke never gets old.

I giggle as I lift up the blanket for my father to join me. Cozily, I rest my head on his chest and burrow down into the safety of my father. In moments like this I find it hard to remember that my father is the president of the Black Wolves, to me he is just dad.

It also doesn't help with that image that my father never lets me anywhere near the club in any way shape or form.

Because my father's territory is so vast, our house is on one side of the town, the compound and the club on the other.

"Are you sure you're ok, monkey? If you're not I can make them pay."

"Dad..." I warn for the thousandth time, "I'm fine, I promise. I'm just never going another to a party- or talk to another boy."

"Well, I guess that's the only silver lining to that event."

We both chuckle as the end of the film appears, I whine, not wanting this evening to end. My father knows me so well, he quickly switches on to tangled for the second film of our evening.

"I love you, dad." I break the music of the opening and my father squeezes me tighter to his chest.

"You're my world, Katie."

Groaning as my alarm blares in my ears, I throw my head under my pillow before groping to find my phone. I quickly switch off my alarm and scramble from bed.

Just as I step out of the shower, the towel wrapped around my body, I hear the front door slam shut. I jump at the noise, my father always tells me when he is going somewhere.

"Dad?" I call out, anxiously, as I dry my body and quickly wrap myself in a dressing gown.

"I'm here, Katie." My father's voice calls back as I walk down the stairs.

I find him leaning over the kitchen counter his head in his hands with a glass of scotch by him.

"Dad!" I exclaim, "its 8 in the morning!"

"Huh?" He looks up, I can see stress etched into his expression. "Oh, oh, sorry Katie."

Moving near to him, I rest my head on his shoulder.

"What's wrong, dad?"

Tension radiates from every pore of my father, it's making me feel anxious as well. My father is all I have, I hate seeing him so worried.

"Monkey," my dad sighs heavily and turns up look at me. He gently ways his palm on my cheek, I smile reassuringly up at him, "something's happened."

"What?"

"We've seen a rival club riding through our territory..."

"What! How many?"

I can't risk a war, I can't risk losing my father.

"Just one, but Katie he could be a scout. Until we know more we're moving to the compound."

"What?" I gasp again, "Dad, I have school today."

I'm less than a month away from finishing school, if my father calls a lockdown or a war breaks out, I may not get to finish school with my friends.

"Please, Katie. You won't have to stay at the compound long, just until I know it's safe."

Swallowing hard, I nod at my father, giving him a reassuring smile. If do anything to keep my father happy.

"Ok dad," I grip his wrist which is holding my face still, "I trust you."

"Can you pack a bag for us both, I need to make some phone calls."

I plaster on a fake grin for my father's benefit and pad back up the stairs. From downstairs I can hear my father's angry shouts down a phone, he's frightened, threatened. This biker, this scout is a threat to my father's club, and a threat to me.

When it comes to my safety, my father is a man to threaten.

After I pack two small bags for each of us, I dress in simple, comfy clothes for the short ride. If we are going to the compound, I'm going to be surrounded by men, I don't want to be wearing anything revealing- my father wouldn't like that anyway.

Smiling as I see my father waiting by the front door, I toss his bag into his arms and then my own.

"You ready monkey?"

"Yep, all ready."

We walk out of our house, I wince as I hear the lock clicking into place. I want to stay here, I've only been at the compound a handful of times and it's not my kind of place, it's noisy and crowded.

My father packs the two bags into the small car he brought for us, so that I would never have to be on the back of a motorbike. Just before my father starts the engine, he looks over at me, squeezes my hand and gives me one of his rare, soft smiles.

"We'll be alright, monkey. You're safe with me."
