"No, it's George Washington." I roll my eyes.
He glares at me. I sigh as the strong wind blows.
"What are you doing there?" I ask him and he takes a mouthful of whatever is in that bottle.
"I'm gonna jump, then I'll fall straight to hell, and enjoy about twenty-five years of peace before it's ruined by my father."
"Give me the bottle," I tell him slowly walking up.
"Why, want a drink? he asks me.
"Yep, pass the bottle," I tell him.
"Drinking is bad for your health Sophia."
"Yet you're drinking whatever that is as if it's water." He turns around looking at me, his eyes holding exhaustion.
"Well, unlike me, your existence on this planet matters." he passes his hand through his hair.
He looks directly at me, he's hurt.
"What happened?" I ask, knowing something has hurt him.
"Don't you have a wedding to plan?" he raises his eyebrows.
"Yes, your wedding."
"More like my father's wedding. " he scoffs. His father.
"What happened with him?"
"I try so hard, I'm never enough. Never," he says, and my heart breaks.
"He doesn't see how worthy you are and that's okay, his lost Axton."
"Get down you're gonna fall!" I yell at him as he looses his balance.
"No, I'll gracefully flow down the air." he smirks.
"Axton you're gonna fall!"
"Don't worry babe, I'll wait for you in hell." Did he just call me babe?
"Kidding, you're such a fucking nice person, you're gonna rule heaven." I sigh.
"You're a good person too Axton, but please get down." I walk up, slowly.

"No. As petty as it is, I want him to be proud, I want him to see how many deals I close on a daily, how I saved our company, but he doesn't." he takes another mouthful of liquor.
Okay, step one, get the bottle.
"You're a good son and businessman, he doesn't see that, that's his loss. Now hand me the bottle." He looks at the bottle, takes a step closer to the edge, and my heart drops. What if he jumps? I'll jump after him, swear.
"You've had a lot to drink, that's enough," I tell him, he throws the bottle and it shatters in front of me.
"I'm a bad fucking person!" he growls.
"No, you're not Axton."
"When are you gonna see I'm an asshole that destroys everything," he mumbles, I think he's crying. He's been through so much and never had someone to hold him and tell him it'll be okay. After forcing him to take over the company, his dad forced him to lock everyone off, he never had anyone to comfort him.
"I can't keep trying Sophia, Corbin fucked up, dad still loves him." He mumbles.
"He has never nor will he ever love me."
"I'm tired of trying Soph." My heart breaks and I walk up to him, holding his hand.
"I know. Come down." he falls directly into my arms and I just stand there, hugging him.
He always thought crying made him weak, that's what his dad taught him.
His arms tighten around me and I feel like crying, he's been through so much.
"Can we go back to your place?" he asks and I hum in response.
---
"You're cute when you drive." he mumbles.

I look at him and he starts laughing. A lot.
"What?" I ask him, he takes a whole two minutes to answer because he's laughing that much.
"Remember the time you threw up on Jace on the roller coaster." he barely finishes the sentence because he's laughing like a kid.
"Yes." I chuckle.
"He ran straight into the fucking fountain!" he throws his head back laughing. His mood changes really quickly.
"Look at you laughing minutes after trying to jump off a rooftop," I tell him and he smiles.
"Honestly I wasn't gonna do it, I just wanted you to come get me. You make everything better," he says, in a serious tone.
Don't smile, don't smile.
"You're blushing." Shit.
"No, I'm not," I reply, too quickly.
"Sure, Soph. Whatever you say," he mumbles, pulling his phone out.
"I want ice cream," he says as I pull up to my building.
"I have ice cream in my freezer," I tell him.
"No, I want vanilla, you probably have some chocolate shit," he says scrunching his nose, he looks so cute. He's right though.
"Vanilla is boring," I reply.
"It won't be boring when I drizzle it over your stomach and lick it off," he says casually.
I freeze. I look at him and he's already looking at me.
"You're drunk, shut up." I barely get the words out, because one, my mind is trying to not picture that scenario, and two, I'm speechless.
"Actually, I sobered up with your bad driving," he says getting out my car.
Huh?
"Are you coming?" he asks me and it's only then I realize I'm still sitting in the car.
"Uh, yeah," I tell him, getting out. I lock the car, as we walk to the lobby.
Flashes of light blind us.
"Sophia, where is your father?"
"Is your brother still in jail?"
"How did this fight occur?"
"Your mother hasn't spoken on the matter, is she okay with everything that happened?" Huh?
"These motherfuckers." Axton mumbles.
He grabs me, opening the doors to the building. A reporter rushes up to me, pointing a microphone at me, Axton pushes me behind him.
"Back up." he tells the reporter. Doing as he's told, the reporter backs away.
"Go up, I'll be there soon," he tells me, but I don't wanna leave him after tonight.
"Soph I'm fine, go."
"Hurry," I mumble, walking into the building.
I open the door to my apartment. I drop my keys on the island, opening the fridge, I grab the bottle of Coke, screw the diet. I drink a mouthful, plopping down on the couch.
What a day.
