The sun makes its way into my room. I groan realizing I have to get up.
I eventually get out of bed. I stand on my balcony overlooking the city. The cars, people all on their way to something different.
It could be someone's first day at their dream job, or someone is getting married today. Everyone's always so different. We never truly know what's going on in someone's life. It's sad how the world takes that as an opportunity to judge.
Oh well, we have a clothing line to run, get going.
I take a shower and do my make-up. I slip into a white blouse, tucked into a black pencil skirt and a long nude blazer that reaches my calves. Some heels, jewelry, and I quickly curl some strands of my hair to make it look effortless.
I usually skip breakfast. But I think I should have a smoothie at least. I throw some fruits into the blender and add some almond milk. While I sip the smoothie I scroll through my phone. My phone starts vibrating and my eyes widen as Amyra spams me.
Amyra: What happened last night with you and Axton?
????????
?????
What was she talking about?
I press the call button and her voice scares the hell out of me.
"What the hell happened with you and might I mention MR. ENGAGED!" She yells at me through the phone.
"Nothing Happened, what are you talking about?" I ask her and I wash the glass I used to drink my smoothie. So much for a peaceful breakfast smoothie.
"Oh my God, if you're this clueless then I guess it's a misunderstanding," she mumbles.
"Take a look at that article," she tells me as I wipe my wet hands on a kitchen towel.

I gasp.
It's a picture of Axton and me in the lobby of my building. Thankfully, not a picture of him carrying me. The caption was.
Axton McKay leaves his engagement party with the founder of Sophia Rivera Designs, Sophia herself, and stops at her apartment building.
"They suck at captions." I scoff.
"Soph. If he wasn't engaged everyone would think its just another one of you guys' weekly movie nights." I can practically see her rolling her eyes.
"It's fine. I'll have Hayley call my publicist and have the article removed." I mumble.
"Sophia. Have you told him how you feel?"
"No.."
"Sophia Rivera! You have to." I roll my eyes as she speaks
"You sound like my mom and no, he's getting married for fucks sake." I roll my eyes even more.
"God Soph, You realize he would probably call it off if you told him how you feel."
"He doesn't feel the same way so there isn't any reason to." I sigh. I look at the time, I'm running late.
"I got to go."
"Sophia, listen to me-" I hang up.
Oops.
I turn the lights off and lock my door walking into the elevator.
"Morning Sophia." My doorman, Todd smiles at me.
"Good morning Todd." I smile, walking through the doors, right into the backseat of my car.
"The office please," I tell Marty.
"Yes, ma'am." he smiles at me. I look out the window and my mind decides to betray me and think about no one other than Axton.
Just then my phone rings and his name flashes across the screen.
"Hey." I answer.

"Soph, stop by my office and we'll go to lunch from there." he talks, in his 'business mode'.
"Okay, why though?" He hangs up.
"Okay then." I mumble.
My office comes into view and I grab my bag ready to get out before Marty speaks.
"Sophia, you should call Rio. There's a lot of paparazzi" Rio was my security.
"Um, okay." I call him and in less than two minutes he's opening my car door.
"Sophia, are you and Mr. McKay having an affair?" What the fuck? He isn't even married yet.
"Is Axton really engaged to Piper Fallon?"
"Why was he at your apartment building last night?"
"Will you be attending the Wesley's Charity Ball tonight?"
My phone vibrates and I see a message from Axton.
Axton: Don't answer any questions, just walk into your office.
Huh?
Doing as I'm told, I walk into my office, straight into my office.
----
My morning was filled with meetings for different designers and lines. It was finally lunchtime and I was about to head out my office. A knock on my door stops me.
"Come in."
I look up to see my dad walk in.
"Dad? What are you doing here?" I ask.
"Just came to say hello, I'm leaving for Germany." he smiles.
"You're not going to the ball tonight?" I ask in disbelief.
"You're mother and the kids are skipping, you should spend some time with them tonight."
"I will, the ball isn't my type of event anyways." I lie to his face. There's no way he's here to tell me to stay home from a ball.
"Alright pumpkin, I'll be off now." he smiles, hugging me.
"Bye."
Something's wrong.
"Hey Hayley. Call Givenchy and request a dress for tonight's ball." I speak into the phone.
"On it." I smile at her impressive work.
I grab my stuff and walk out the office.
We drive to McKay Industries' headquarters. A huge skyscraper building mainly glass. There's up to what? Forty floors? Pretty sure more but.
I walk in and immediately I'm pulled by the one and only Jace Wesley.
"Can I help you?" I snap. He stares at me confused.
"Bad day.. I'm sorry." I mumble as we walk into the elevator.
"Coming to the ball tonight?" he asks and I roll my eyes.
"Or not." he sighs.
"I'm sorry Jace. Just my dad. I'll be there,I'll even dance with you."
"Great, I'll introduce you to my date." I smile at him as the elevator opens to Axton's floor.
"You not coming?" I ask, seeing as he's still in the elevator.
"I was heading out."
"So you rode the elevator again, just to talk to me?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Yep. Good luck!" He yells as the elevator doors close ending our conversation.
Goodluck? What for?
I give up the thought as I walk towards Axton's office.
"I don't fucking care! I don't want to see his face!" I hear his voice yelling through the floor.
Oh, that's what the luck is for.
