《Bruised (Not Edited)|✔️》Chapter 26

We walked side by side across the training field greeting people along the way. I couldn't help but admire everyone I passed. They looked so determined and focused as they trained, while I was dreading my own.

I was very sad when Jayden informed me that he wasn't going to train me himself, because let's be honest, imagine training with your mate. A heavy training session could lead to a heavy make out session which would allow me to get out of training sooner, rather than later.

"Alpha, Luna" a girl bowed before us as soon as we approached.

Her forest green almonds eyes were a complete contrast to her fiery red hair that was up in a ponytail similar to my own. She was gorgeous with her heart shaped face, straight nose and strong cheek bones. You could tell that working out was a priority from looking at her athletic body.

"Elsa here will be training you from now on" Jayden announced and the girl gave me a wicked smile.

I was not going to enjoy this one bit.

"Before you ask, I know that my name reminds you of Elsa from Frozen" she said, getting straight to the point.

"Uh, I don't know what you're talking about" I said a bit embarrassed not understanding her reference.

"OH MY GOD! Have you been living under a rock your whole life?" she exclaimed in disbelief.

"Uh-"

"We're having a movie night tonight!" she announced, leaving no room for an excuse.

I looked at Jayden beside me and he was chuckling at Elsa's outburst. I elbowed him in the stomach, and he immediately sobered up and sends me an apologetic smile.

"I'll be right here if you need me" he said taking a few steps back.

"So, you're not leaving?" I asked a bit confused.

"No. I'll be monitoring your training" came his reply.

"Wouldn't it make more sense if you trained me?"

"I can't" he replied running a hand through his already disheveled hair.

"And why the hell not?"

"There are a number of reasons why I can't train you. The most important one being that I don't want to hurt you" he explained, but I wasn't having any of it.

"You think that I can't defend myself? Because let me assure you, I can" I said walking up to him.

"Given your track record, I don't think you have quite mastered how to defend yourself." He did not just say that!

Without any warning, I swung a punch to his face which he stopped with his hand.

"Do you really think that it would be that easy to land a hit on me?" He taunted.

"You never know" I shrugged.

I swung another punch at him with my free hand and he prevented it from hitting his face by holding me my hand.

"If I manage to successfully land a hit on you, then you have to train me. Deal?" I offered.

"What the heck?" I have nothing to lose" he smirked and let go of my hands.

I circled around him as he stood still, anticipating my first move.

Kick.

Dodge.

Punch.

Block.

Kick.

Dodge.

Punch.

Block.

This went on for a very long time, me trying to land a hit, but failing miserably, while he smirked in satisfaction and victory. I was getting frustrated that no matter how many times I tried, he would either block or dodge my hits.

Suddenly an idea formed in my head. I smirked at Jayden, while he looked at me puzzled. Summoning all my energy, I took deep breaths to concentrate before I channeled all my power in Jayden's direction. I watched in awe as the yellow glow flowed from my hands and straight at Jayden.

The blast was so strong that it sent Jayden flying to the other side of the field. I felt a gut wrenching pain in my abdomen, which wasn't my own. I was feeling Jayden's pain. A surprised shriek passed my lips and I quickly sprung into attention completely forgetting about the pain. Using my wolf speed, I ran as fast as I could to get to him.

I know that I wanted to hit him to prove him wrong, but I didn't intend for the blast to be that powerful. My heart was beating wildly in my chest too afraid of what I'll see when I got to him.

I was never a religious person, but in the few minutes that it took to get to him, I prayed that he would be alright. I didn't want yet another innocent person dying by my hands, let alone my own mate.

As soon as I got to him, I dropped to the ground and held his head on my lap. His shirt had a hole in it from the blast, revealing his wounded abdomen.

"Shit. I'm so sorry. It's all my fault. I-I" I cried as I cradled his face with my hands.

"Sweetheart, it's ok. I've been through worst" he replied in a hoarse voice clenching his jaw.

He made a sudden movement, which caused him to grunt in pain. His face was contorted in pain, despite the fact that he was assuring me that everything was fine.

"It's not ok. I could have killed you" I wailed.

My heart broke the more that I stare at his face that showed just how much he was in pain. His breath was coming out in short shallow pants as he clenched his jaw, and gritted his teeth.

"Everything will be ok" he rasped out with a groan.

By now a small crowd had formed around us, onlookers watching their alpha in pain. Everyone was silent and unease, as they all had a solemn look on their face.

"Hey, at least you manage to land a hit on me" he chuckled a bit, which led to him coughing up blood. I didn't share the joke, because I was too concerned for his well-being, unlike him.

"What happened?" Elder Victoria asked looking at Jayden with a horrified look.

"I-I didn't mean to. I-I It just happened- I don't-" I stuttered with a shaky voice.

Elder Victoria examined his wound and after a minute of inspection, she took a step back.

"If he was a regular wolf, then a blast like this would be enough to kill him. He won't be able to heal as fast as he normally would. His healing process could take days, up to weeks for him to be at full strength again." She explained.

"Is there anything I can do?" I asked hopeful.

"You can heal him, but it will drain your energy significantly. The consequences could be dire; you could even end up in a coma for an uncertain amount of time." The Elder explained.

"I don't care. I'll do anything" I said with tears blurring my vision as I looked down at my mate who was in pain.

"Ava, I know you want to take away his pain, but you could get really hurt from trying to undo your own doing." When she said that, it took me back to the time when I tried to fix my mistake. Instead of helping, I just made everything worst.

"Please just let me take away his pain" I sobbed feeling helpless.

"Ava-"

"No. I'm doing this whether you approve or not" I cut her off.

Setting Jayden's head on the ground gently, I shuffled to his side. I took a few deep breaths and closed my eyes to concentrate. I imagined healing his wound in my head before I opened my eyes and watched my skin's yellow glow.

It was like a million little stars lived inside me, and I turned them on so that they could shine bright. I focused all my attention on healing his wound, and to my surprise it was working.

I watched as the skin slowly formed back together. My body hummed as I continued to heal him. I could feel a tingly sensation run through my body as soon as his wound was completely healed. It was like my powers wanted- scratch that, it was like my power knew that I needed to heal my mate.

He was no longer groaning and grunting in pain. His face was now relaxed. I hugged him tightly and cried into his chest. His arms slowly came around me, and held me tightly to him.

"I'm so sorry" I cried.

"So I guess movie night is cancelled" I heard someone speak up from nearby.

No shit, Elsa.
