"What do you want?" I asked, getting straight to the point.

"I just came to say goodbye," Kade said gingerly while flashing me a soft smile.

"Bye? You aren't leaving for another 3 days and I'm coming over for dinner tomorrow," I said skeptically.

"Something came up... " Kade started to explain.

"Something always does, doesn't it? This time this something had better one hell of a reason," I glared.

Kade rolled his eyes and then looked around to make sure no one was listening, "I do have a good reason."

"Which is?..."

"My girlfriend Marie .... she's.... she's..." he struggled.

"What? Just spit it out," I moaned, getting impatient.

"Pregnant..." He said with a straight face.

"What?" I gasped.

...

After Kade hit me with the 'baby bomb', I didn't know what to do. I got my keys locked the front door, and then dragged Kade by the shirt to my car.

"What the hell Lex? Is this really necessary?" He asked while rolling his eyes.

"Just shut up for a second," I spat as I got into the driver's seat, and motioned Kade to get in too.

After a few minutes of silence, Kade finally spoke up, "Where are we going?"

"Do Mom and Dad know? I ask, ignoring his question.

"No, you're the only one... Now please tell me where the fück you're taking me."

"I'm taking your sorry ass to our parents house, so you can explain the situation," I said calmly.

"NO," He exclaimed, "LEX YOU CANT TELL THEM."

"They're your parents you ha...." I started, but it was too late. Kade had opened the door and jumped out of the passenger seat while we were moving at least 40 MPH.

"Shït," I mutter as I pulled over.

I got out of the car, only to see Kade limping over to me.

"WHAT THE HECK," I yelled and I walked over to him.

As I got closer, I saw the blood coming from his nose, "Kade, are you ok?" I asked starting to get worried.

"Yeah I'm fine," He said and put a hand on his head.

"You're bleeding, idiot," I rolled my eyes, "Get back in the car... and this time try to stay there please."

It was at that moment, when Kade got in the car and didn't fight back, that I knew something was wrong.

The only thing I knew to do was take Kade to the ER.

We pulled into the parking lot and I helped him out of the car. As we walked, I turned to look at him and noticed he was bleeding out of his ear.

"What the... that's not good K we need to get you help," I said as I grabbed his arm and rushed him through the front entrance.

...

"The patient is Kade West, 22 years old. He jumped out of a moving vehicle. There is trauma to the to the... left side of the brain... Pupils are dilated. It looks to be brain bleed, but I need to get a CT to be sure," A doctor yelled as she shinned a light into Kade's glassy eyes and rushed him away.

"Is he going to be ok?" I croaked as tears streamed down my face.

"I'm not sure ma'am, let me take you to the waiting room," A nurse said in a reassuring tone.

"O...okay," I choked.

Half an hour passed when a doctor came back to get me.

"Is he ok? Whats wrong with him?" I asked, practically jumping out of my seat.

"Your brother has an Epidural hematoma..."

"A what?" I gasped.

"An epidural hematoma, its an accumulation of blood thats between the inner table of his skull..." She tried to explain before I cut her off again.

"IS HE GOING TO DIE?" I screamed, causing everyone in the waiting room to stare at me with sympathy in their eyes.

"Right now he is being rushed into the OR, and I'll tell you more as soon as I know," She explained calmly, "In the mean time you should call your family."

"Ok," I sniffed, and she walked away.

I picked up my phone, and called my parents... ring... ring... ring... "Hey sweetie, whats up?" My mom asked from the other end.

"Mama, something happened..." I whispered.

...

"Where is he?" My mother frantically questioned, with worry written on her face as she burst through the doors to the weighting room.

"He's in surgery," I answered, wiping away my tears.

"What exactly happened," My mother asked sternly.

"I was driving," I started, and took a deep breath,"And he opened the door and rolled out of the car."

"He just... ROLLED OUT?" She yelled, causing people to stare, "How fast were you going?"

"Uhhh... 40 I think..." I started.

"You think?" She asked sarcastically.

"I don't know mom, I was too focused on the fact that my brother jumped out of my car to remember the exact speed I was driving," I snapped back.

"That's it," My mom whispered, "You do NOT get to talk to me like that... no matter how upset you are."

After that I didn't say anything and we both sat there in silence until Tyler and my dad showed up.

"Is he ok?" Tyler asked and gave me a hug which I really needed.

"We don't know," is all my mom said.

"He'll be fine," my dad said casually, in attempt to lighten the mood.

"Lets hope so," my mom responded and grabbed onto my dads hand.

Three long, suspenseful hours had passed when the nurse came out "Kade is in recovery, you can all go see him in about an hour. Im happy to report that we were able to get the clotted blood out from his brain and he should have a fast recovery."

"Thank God," My mother said and let out a breath.

"See I told ya, K's gonna be alright," My Dad encouraged.

"You were right," Was all I said as I clenched onto Tyler's hand.
