As if the world just stopped turning and that the wheels of my brain started functioning well instead of cobwebs manifesting it. I stood frozen at my ground-- shock was evident in my eyes. I want to be fascinated how I am a werewolf but then again-- I've been living a lie. They didn't tell me about this. Sure, I would literally freak out but how come they make me live as a human in the first place? I could have accepted and indulged the fact that I'm a werewolf at such a young age. Mom and dad would let me live in a pack house and I would be with the werewolves even...

I don't inherit the wolf powers. I just realized it by now.

It's got to be, right? Why they decided to let me breathe, walk, and live life as a human is because I don't inherit the wolf powers. It's pretty obvious, really. My senses are not that superficial and superb. Maybe they'd be disgraced if someone like me was in a pack, right?

But there is one thing in my mind that I am now dying to spit out.

"If I'm half werewolf, then dad.. That must be you are one?"

Dad shook his head lightly and I raise an eyebrow, "no.. Your mother was."

"Let's talk about this inside your office, George." Lena tells dad and we then followed suit.

Listening attentively, I promised myself that I would never ever interrupt what the both of them got to say to me. Sitting on the bed and facing the both of them is really nerve-wrecking.. However I must find answers.

"Claire, the reason why my side of the family is really secretive is because they are werewolves. That's why I sometimes limit my contact though I sometimes sneak out from the pack territory. One of the main purposes why I also contact you at times is because to see how you are going." Lena starts then she looks at dad to add something

"Your mother was a werewolf. She is Lena's aunt. I fell in love with her at first sight. Her mate died before we even got married and because of me she found a new perspective. The first time we met, I saw her wolf form running around near our cabin. At first I was terrified but then she never harmed me. I began to know more about wolves. I loved her. I tried my best to mend her broken heart. The reason your mother died was not because of an illness. She was poisoned.."

"Poisoned by what?"

"Poisoned by a deadly solvent called Wolf's bane. The alpha of your mother's pack wasn't delighted with the news of her having a baby with a human like me. However; as soon as your mom died, the alpha regretted his decisions. He was your grandfather after all." Dad sighs but I keep on listening.

"My dad is the new alpha now. He loved auntie so much because she was his baby sister. Dad made sure that the both of you will be safe and the visitations that you get from me are just surveillance and of course, hanging out with you-- dear cousin. Your dad already knew about wolves-- he is just scared on what will happen if you knew. Your life wouldn't be normal."

"And sadly yet fortunately, you found yourself your mate." Dad smiles at me weakly, "I knew from the very start that he was your mate. I just needed you to stay away from him. I couldn't bear my only daughter and family member taken away from me so early but I knew he needs you and you need him."

"I don't inherit the wolf genes, right? How come the moongoddess fated me with a mate like Lawrence?" I grew confused

"Maybe she is not that selfish after all." Lena smirks in a gentle way, "even you don't have the wolf genes, you'll still have your mate."

"And how come I didn't get the wolf genes?"

"It's possible for a half werewolf to inherit the wolf genes when the wolf side of his or her parents is a Since your mother was the wolf and your father is the human, you got mostly from your father's genes rather than your mother's." Lena explains.

That's why. It would have been cool though if I got awesome wolf powers.

"Dad, I'm not going to be mad at you for not telling.. Instead, thank you. I know what you did was for my own good. I completely understand your motive." I immediately hug him and he hugs back tightly

"I love you so much, sweetie." Dad kisses the top of my head

"I love you too, dad." I smile back, "even if Lawrence is my mate.. I won't leave you, I promise."

"Lawrence Silvers, isn't it?" Lena asks excitedly

"Uh, yeah." I reply, quite baffled of her expression.

"Alpha Lawrence?!"

"I think I mentioned it to you already."

"I don't know, I don't quite remember... But anyhow! Since Lawrence is your mate, that means.. You're going to be the Luna of his pack!"

"L-Luna.." Yes, I know about wolves.. But it's about the mates and the shifting and the moongoddess.. But never have I heard the word 'Luna'.

"You know, be by the alpha's side. You can also help the pack alongside!" Lena clasps her hands

"Uh.. I don't think I'm ready for that." I shook my head in a nervous way.

"You are really ready for that, sweetie. Think of it as the debate you had." Dad smiles cheekily at me and I just sigh in frustration

"As much as I love Lawrence and be by his side, I still have school and stuff." I stand up, "and thank you guys for telling me all these cos now my head's heaviness has alleviated."

I was about to exit when I remembered something.

"Isn't Angelica coming over?" I ask dad

"Nah, she said she had to prepare a meeting for tomorrow."

"I see." Well then, no sabotage, "hey Lena, let's watch Twilight."

"When I am mates with a vampire, doesn't mean I need to watch a freaking vampire series." Lena scoffs and dad raises his eyebrows

"A werewolf and a vampire? Is that even possible?" Dad asks

"Well it can be but I couldn't careless. I see that Valerio guy as a playboy." Lena rolls her eyes in disgust, "mom and dad doesn't really care what being I will be mated with at least that certain being loves me."

"So what really happened why you don't commit to relationships that much?"

"It's just some gossip I want to spread. I've been afraid of finding my mate." Lena pulls me towards the door, "we will be going now!"

"Kudos!" Dad says and I just laugh at him

Somehow, I feel like something is going to happen tomorrow.. Especially with Angelica. Now that I think about it, I must surprise Lawrence at work tomorrow! He has been going to my school and now it's my turn to go to his workplace. This is exciting! I already can't wait to tell him that I am actually half werewolf! I doubt he probably doesn't know about it, I mean can they sense it? Anyways, tomorrow will be a great day!

"You look damn happy."

"No reasons."

This is exhilarating!
