Lena will be staying at our house for two full nights because she needs to go to her mate. I can't believe that Lena's mate is Valerio-- Ema's big brother. I'm like, is this a freaking coincidence? Almost everyone I knew are mated to each other by the moongoddess. Speaking of supernatural beings, how come Lawrence didn't suspect a thing that I'm actually half-werewolf? I mean, he would have told me now right or maybe my presence isn't that strong enough to be sensed by others?

There is a possibility since I don't inherit the wolf genes but rather the stage of having the mate.

"Are you planning on fully dedicating yourself to Valerio?" Currently we are resting our heads on the headboard while watching movies and some series at Netflix

"I don't know. My side of the family is okay with it but he is a vampire and I don't think that his family will take our relationship into consideration." Lena buries her face on the pillow, "I'm scared.. Maybe he might reject me because of that?"

"I have no plans on rejecting mine because I trust him." I tell Lena and she looks at me with hopeful eyes

"You're right. I should trust him even though we haven't really talked." Lena beams and I smile at her charisma, "I mean.. It's not like it is the end of the world too if I were to be rejected."

"It's going to be the end of the world because he is your mate and you are hopeless without one." And it's true. I've learned that if you lose your mate, you will experience such grief and depression until you want to start committing suicide.

"Well sorry for the lack of knowledge about mates because I didn't really think of ever finding one in the first place." Lena raises her hands in defeat and I just laugh at her, "about Lawrence--"

"I love and trust him, no remarks to object that." I cut her off and continue on fixing my eyes on the laptop screen, "it's funny that I'm just calmed down due to having this kind of situation because usually people freak out."

"Well because you're special and obviously smart." Lena adds up

"Maybe." I just shrug, "oh yeah.. Want to come with me tomorrow? Ema and I are going to visit our mates."

"Ema you mean the vampire girl who is a sibling of Valerio?"

"Exactly. She has actually has a wolf for a mate."

"Wow, just like in my situation but only reversed." Lena whistles, "if she can do it then surely Valerio can do it."

"Obviously." I just chuckle, "this is going to be great!"

"Oh yeah, what about the Angelica case?" Lena spills out Angelica's name and it made my heart cringed in disgust

"Let's leave her be. I trust dad."

Morning. And another day of school.

I was about to enter the school main doors when someone caught my eye. A boy in shades and black leather jacket leaned on a wall not far from where I am standing. The dirty blonde hair caught my eyes and I knew exactly who it was.

"Valerio!" I didn't expect for him to be here, "here to check up on Ema?"

"I was expecting for Lena and I kind of thought she might bring you to school."

"Well sorry because she is still asleep. She is not really that of a morning person."

I can tell that Valerio's face fell.

"You're not planning on rejecting her, aren't you?"

His face lit up in a baffled way, "what the! No! If she thought about my parents not considering then she is wrong. My parents are cool with it. I sensed her anxiety last night and maybe it was because of the mate bond."

"I thought... I mean.. Ema told me!"

"She was just scared that time and I already knew that the man she was with was her mate. I was kind of hurt when she didn't tell me in the first place. She's my freaking baby sister and we tell each other things!"

Wow.

"Anyway, I miss Lena and I haven't had the chance to talk to her." He puts both his hands on his pockets, "do you have her number? I want to talk to her on phone or maybe at least contact her."

Minutes later, Valerio got her number and I proceeded on entering the school building. I was already late but I didn't mind-- a mate bond is very crucial and significant!

Eh, it's like I'm saying that school is less important than having a mate. Don't bear that in mind.

I must tell Claire about this. It feels like I'm lying to her but for me this is just a least of her worries. This doing does not have a malicious attempt. For me, this doesn't concern me but somehow or maybe-- it might concern Claire. I don't want her to worry-- this will put a stop on Angelica's schemes.

"You ready?" Angelica smirks seductively at me but I didn't even mind. All I can think of is Claire. I miss her so much.

"Don't cling to me when we get out." I warn her and she just growls playfully

"Honey, this is a date--"

"Don't call me honey. Only Claire has the right to call me that even though she still hasn't done that." I tell her while fixing my necktie, "this might be a date but I don't hold special feelings for it."

"You know that this could put a stop on my bickering schemes, right?" She walks toward me in such gaiety yet disgusting way. She runs her finger through my chin, "so you must at least be a gentleman for our date."

Lena decided to come with us but then Valerio was already waiting for her at the school grounds when it was dismissal time. I just nod my head and let Lena go to Valerio so that they can spend some quality time together. Ema and I decided to go without her and she made sure that our presences are kept hidden so that our mates will not notice that we have already entered the building.

Just as I was about to enter the office, I hear Angelica's and Lawrence's voices. My heart suddenly shattered into a million pieces.

"C-Claire.." Ema pulls me away from the door but I jerk my hand away

"The nerve." I grit my teeth and storm into the office

Oh no. Not Claire. Fuck! How come I didn't notice her presence?!

Claire approaches us and then---

SLAP!

"So it was Lawrence all along, huh?! You even went to extreme heights on hooking up with my dad!"

She didn't slap me.

She slapped Angelica instead.

"Lawrence is mine, you hear me? I don't want you prancing all around him because he belongs to me!" I can see the fury and bloodlust in Claire's eyes that I haven't seen before.

"You bitch---!" Angelica was about hit Claire when luckily I was fast enough to stop her.

"If you hurt my mate, I will waste no time to kill you." I growl deeply at her with my alpha tone

Angelica jerks away, looks at the both of us, then storms out while crying hysterically. Claire just sighs and runs her fingers through her hair.

"She's really a bitch." Claire just laughs

"Y-you're not mad?"

"Why would I? I'm not stupid enough to think that you cheated on me or anything but I'm really disappointed that you didn't tell me about this." Claire's face held worry and hurt. I immediately hug her tight, afraid of letting her go. I don't want to see that reaction of hers. My wolf dies at the sight of it.

"I'm sorry.. I don't want you to worry."

"Make me worry." She pulls away and smiles at me with sincerity, "that just means I really love you."

She's so beautiful when she talks like that. I don't ever want to move an inch. I just want to be with her-- every second and every day. She's no ordinary-- she's so different.

I couldn't possibly live without her in my life.
