《Lucifer's Queen》Prologue

"She's strange," A small boy whispered to his mother.

"Don't look at her sweetie," His mother grabbed onto his hand quickly and scurried away.

A little girl sat in the sand box playing by herself. She could clearly hear all the whispers from the adults and their children around her.

"I heard she's cursed, she doesn't believe in God that's why she's like that,"

Your wrong!

The little girl wanted to yell. They're all lies that her mother had fabricated none of them were true. Her mother didn't want them to know the truth.

She never asked to be born in a family filled with lies.

"I don't want you around her," Her small throat began to tighten as she wanted to cry but, she couldn't, if she did her mom would punish her and her father would do nothing about it.

So she smiled as the whispers continued to flow.

"She looks so sad mommy,"

"Don't look at her baby,"

This was all because of her mother. The community were she lived was filled with Christians but if you didn't believe in God or fear the devil you were looked down upon and scorned. But that was not her case. Some of them knew the real reason why she was truly hated and it had nothing to do with her religious belief. Of course she believed in god, but who would believe her.

Her lips trembled as she didn't and couldn't hold it in any longer. As if the heavens sensed her mood the sky's opened up and the rain poured down on her. She then released her tears as it felt it was the right time to do so. Everyone started to run for shelter but she stood there and cried. She released all her fear, hatred and sadness into those tears.

She cried until her throat was hoarse and even then she continued to cry. The rain pelted her skin and in the process drenched her ragged clothes. She wasn't allowed to have proper or pretty clothes like her sister Grace. Both her grandmother and mother made sure of that. She didn't want to hate her sister but she was just as rotten as her mom. She would pull her hair while chanting her favorite little song that she had personally built for Elizabeth. A parody of the song Queen Elizabeth.

Dumb Elizabeth will die tonight,

Either by mother or she'll take her own life,

Will we miss her?

Heck to the no...

She's a spawn of the devil and into a witch, she will grow, grow, grow!

But she couldn't complain when Grace did this. Her mother wouldn't believe her and would just hit her and her father would just glare at her. Grace even got special privileges that she didn't have like going to school. She wanted to go but she wasn't allowed so she would have to sneak out of the basement which she slept in and into Grace's room and teach herself to read them before anyone got home. She even had to clean the house while Grace didn't. She had to bare the burden of everything while Grace didn't.

Her body trembled as each sob rocked her. She looked so fragile. She slowly turned her head towards the sky and continued to scream her throat out. To some, it may seem as if someone was harming her, but having your mother and family hate you from your day of birth until now was more than a small child could bear.

Her feet became weak and she collapsed onto her knees. Her entire family despised her along with her home town. She was the devil's spawn as they say. It was not her fault her mother was raped or so she claimed, that resulted in her birth.

Her hair was naturally blonde but her mom dyed it black to make her different from the rest of her family. Her mother didn't want anything to do with her and she played the sympathy card well. She never could understand why they hated her so much. She could still hear the argument her parents had that made her run away and leave the house which also contained the reason they despised her.

She stood at the door trembling as fear crept through her body. They were yelling so loudly you could have heard it from downstairs. She had heard slight indications that they might have been but she was very certain as she watched her father shout at her mom, "You think I want that thing to call me father!"

Her mother had sat in the corner whimpering. "I'm sorry Richard."

"Sorry, you haven't seen sorry yet Rachel. The day when you bought home that thing you call our daughter is the day this marriage ended!" Taking up the book on their nightstand he threw it making it hit her in the head. "Now you listen to me good, are you listening?"

Her mother simply remained in the corner not moving. With a snarl, her father walked over and grabbed her mother by her collar. "I said are you listening?"

"Yes," She whimpered.

"If you ever make that thing call me father again Rachel I will make you regret it, She is not my child!" He shoved back my mom back onto the ground. "Now clean this room up!"

He was not her father...

Tears began welling up in her eyes as she ran out of the house. She guessed that everyone was right after all she doesn't belong she could never belong.

Her voice finally cracked but she still continued to cry and scream. When it finally took its toll on small body she simply curled up into the mud and whimpered.

Can someone not care about me?

The rain continued to fall when suddenly it seemed as if it had stopped.

Did it feel better already?

Slowly looking up she saw a pair of leather shoes and the rain falling behind them. Her eyes continued to move upwards. She saw the cleanly pressed tailor suit, something her father would wear to work but she doubts it was that expensive.

Her eyes suddenly met his crimson colored ones.

Such beautiful and captivating eyes.

She was sure they weren't a normal everyday color and persons would fear them or be afraid but they filled her with such warmth.

"You're sad?" His voice was beautiful and captivating just like his eyes. It sounded as if angels were singing. She looked at him with hesitancy. She was told not to talk to strangers but her mom wasn't here plus he seemed nice.

He didn't look anything like anyone she had seen. He was much more beautiful. His long dark hair made her want to play in it. "Yes," She found herself answering his question.

He crouched down to her level although she was curled up in the mud. "Why?"

"Because no one wants me," The beautiful stranger might have distracted her for sometime but as soon as she spoke about her situation it felt as if reality was waking her up and her already swollen eyes began to tear up again.

"Do not cry," The man's hand touched her face gently and her tears disappeared. A slight gasp escaped her lips.

Did he have magical powers?

Is he a fairy?

He reached out and took me into his strong muscular arms. "Someone out there must love you Elizabeth,"

She looked at him confused. "How do you know my name, who are you?"

He simply smiled. "It's a secret but before I tell you what it was, let me ask you a very important question." She gave him all her attention but he had it all along. "What do you desire most in this world Elizabeth, I will grant you that wish?"

What do I desire?

She thought about his question but deep down inside her she already knew what she wanted and the words began leaving her heart. "I want to be loved and cared for like the girls in the princess books that I have read, I want to be happy,"

He laughed making her pout, "Don't laugh at me,"

Smiling he looked down at her in his arms. "I'm not laughing at you little one," He caressed the mud off her cheeks. "If that is what you desire Elizabeth I will grant it," He began walking but the rain was not touching them. Each step he took the rain seemed to have frozen in the air and when he left that position it would unfreeze itself. "You can call me Lucifer."

"You mean like the devil?" She asked fascinated. She always thought the devil would look ugly and be mean but he was very beautiful.

"I am him," She smiled as she looked up at him. "Aren't you afraid little Elizabeth?" He continued to smile as his eyes met hers.

"No everyone makes you seem so mean but your really nice," She held onto his hand that was on her left cheek. "I like you," She spoke honestly.

A slight look of shock crossed his face and I think for the first time since he smiled this one was truly genuine. It seemed like a smile coming from the heart."In that case little Elizabeth one day, I will love you unconditionally and make you my queen." He smiled at her once again.

"I'll be your queen?" She wanted to be treated like a princess but a queen was even better. "Thank you so much Lucifer,"

"You're very welcome, now sleep, sweet Elizabeth." He kissed her on her on the lips and he watched as her warm brown eyes slowly began to close.

But before her eyes completely closed she gazed at him and had one final thought,

One day I will be a queen, Lucifer's Queen...
