《Bride》Chapter 11

The plane lands safely on the ground and we land in India. I finally stretch before going to collect my luggage with Gabrielo.
- Where do we sleep? I ask as Gabrielo takes my suitcase from my hand.
- In the middle of Old Delhi. It's a place concentrated in Indian culture. At least, that's what google said. We'll stay at Haveli Dharampura in one of the two suites.
- I can't wait to get there! Shall we take a taxi?
- I'll do the taxi. Let's go.
A car is waiting for us outside the airport. Gabrielo takes out the keys and opens it without lingering. We get in and head for Haveli Dharampura. The jet lag of 9 hours disturbs me a lot. It's already getting dark here while it's not even 7 am in New York.
I am still tired from the trip. Although I slept the whole way. I feel exhausted. The journey goes on quietly with the sound of the radio in the background. When the car stops, I get out without lingering.
We finally arrive in the suite and I fall back against the bed. I feel I deserve to rest. Gabo joins me on the bed and positions himself behind me before taking me in his arms. He starts playing with the button on my jeans and finally undoes it.
- I hope you're ready because you're not going to sleep tonight," he whispers in my ear, making me shiver.
- I'll make it up to you tomorrow, I promise. Just let me sleep for tonight.
- Sweet dreams," he says, placing a kiss on my forehead as my eyes close.

The sun streams in through the windows and beats down on my face. I look at the time on my phone and sit down on the bed. Nausea hits me and I take a deep breath. The few hours of sleep

I managed to get weren't enough apparently. I feel like I've been to Fashion Week and it just ended.
I'm going to feel sick all day. It's always the same whenever my sleep cycle is disrupted. I'd better go back to sleep, it's not even 5 o'clock yet. I'll be fine when I wake up.
________________________________________
Conclusion: I don't wake up feeling worse. I feel better, but nothing more.
Gabrielo is still sleeping soundly. He is lovely when he sleeps like that. He should rest more often. I run my hand through his hair. It's really silky. Maybe even more than mine.
- Alma," Gabrielo grumbles. Stop it, let me sleep.
- It's already ten o'clock. Wake up so we can go and eat. I'm hungry.
- No, you're not. You're still sleepy that's why you're confused. Come here.
He pulls me to him and puts his head on my chest. I think he's fallen asleep again. Come on, just a few minutes won't hurt us.
That's what I thought until we woke up at 12. I'm starving. All because of Gabrielo.
- Shall we go? Gabo asks, taking me by the hand.
I get up and we go out for lunch. The streets are already crowded with people and the surrounding noise is deafening. We go to Paranthe Wali Gali to taste some culinary specialities. It is a narrow and famous street of Chandni Chowk crowded with people coming to eat in the restaurants.
The smell of oil and food fills the atmosphere all around us. My stomach starts rumbling and luckily for me, the noise around us covers the one of my stomach. The din of shopkeepers calling for customers fills the air as people scramble to fill their plates with more and more food.
It is said that the recipes offered by some of the stalls are generations old. I can't wait to try it. We sit inside a stall and order Indian paranthas and rolls.

It's simply delicious. Even for me, who is not a fan of food, the Indian food might change my mind. Gabrielo seems to enjoy it from the smile on his face. We finish eating and leave the shop. The sun is beating down on the street and it's getting hot.
- Gabrielo, what about dessert?
- Do you still want to eat after that? he asks in surprise.
- What do you mean 'after that'? I said outraged. Dessert is the most important thing. Not to mention the fact that I ate less so I could eat dessert. So, please.
He sighs before putting his arm around my waist. He buys a red velvet cake and we eat it. If this trip goes on like this, I have a feeling I won't be going back anytime soon.
The rest of the afternoon was spent in food tasting and talking to locals. Afterwards, we decided to go to a sound and light show with a dinner show at the Red Fort in Delhi.
The Red Fort in Delhi is an icon of the city, with a history dating back over 300 years. The sound, light and dinner show is a unique blend of the old and the new. The show is choreographed by professionals. The show is professionally choreographed and features many historical events that are part of the region's heritage.
The evening also includes a locally prepared Indian meal. We were able to enjoy the show thanks to the incredible Indian dancers. The show was dazzling and captivating. Just thinking about it makes me want to dance.
We decided to go for a little digestive walk, because our place of residence is not far away.
- What are we doing tomorrow? asks Gabrielo.
- No idea," I answer. We'll see at the time. It's late, we'll think about it when we wake up.
- Speaking of waking up, Mrs Moretti, you still owe me a night to ourselves.
- I know I do. Don't worry about it.
We reach the haveli by then. I hurry to the suite and lock myself in the bathroom. At least, that's what I thought I was doing. Until Gabrielo catches me in the middle of my run, carrying me like a sack of potatoes the whole way.
- Give me a moment, I'll be right back," I said, rushing into the bathroom. I want to go to the bathroom.
If you're going to do things, you might as well do them right. That's why I've got a brand new set of lingerie to please Gabrielo and me too, by the way. I put on my new outfit and look at myself in the mirror. I like it. It's really elaborate and elegant. Especially the little details everywhere.I hope he likes it. I spent a fortune to make him happy.
I breathe in and take a last look at myself in the mirror. I leave the room to face my husband. It seems he didn't hear me come out. He is still lying on the starfish bed. I climb on top of him and kiss him without wasting any time.
He turns me over under him and looks me up and down. I see his pupils dilate and he suddenly grabs my thighs to pull me closer. I give in to him and raise myself up slightly to kiss him. I have to say that I have been waiting for this moment too.
