We get in my truck and head to Candy Rush. I reach over and grab her hand and link her fingers in mine.

"So what flavors of candy are we making today?"

"Umm milk chocolate cashew clusters."

"God that sounds good," I said squeezing her hand.

I pull up and get out and walk around and open Vaylin's door and we walk through the back of the store.

Issac and Beau look up and smile when they see us. "Morning Boss and Mr. Kingston."

"Please it's just Theo."

"Boss we got your message and have already mixed up the chocolate. And we are going to make milk chocolate toffee."

"Oh, that sounds great!" I laughed.

Vaylin went to her office to put our jackets and came back with aprons. "Alright, let's get going."

We started making the chocolate and a little while later Vaylin had to go upfront with a customer and Issac walked back to where we were.

"Can I be so bold to ask what exactly that you and Vaylin are doing?"

I couldn't help but smile because I would like to think that Issac is just protective over Vaylin.

"I asked her to be my girlfriend this morning and she said yes." I smiled.

"I'm happy for you man and well she is a great woman. She's the best to work for and I'm protective of her so if you hurt her you answer to me."

"I like the sound of that but I have no intention of hurting her Issac."

Vaylin walked back to where we were and she was smiling and still glowing from what happened this morning.

I wink at her and she blushes as we finish the candy and get it in the freezer.

We walk to her office to take a breather and I pull her in for a kiss. "So I got a big talking to from Issac and he said if I hurt you then he hurts me."

"Is that so? Well, Issac is the protective older brother that I never had."

"I told him I had no intention of hurting you and I like that he is protective. I can appreciate that."

She leans in and kisses me before there is a knock on the door.

"Vaylin you have company out front," Elena said through the door.

"Be right out!"

"If it's my family I'm going to die." I laughed.

She walked out and it wasn't long until she walked back into the room.

"Umm, I have a Kingston family out front Theo."

"What? Are they looking for me?"

"No just a lot of candy." She laughed.

I grabbed her hand and walked back up front and Dad started laughing.

"Son I should have known you were here."

"Well, Dad I should have known it was you. I mean all of you what in the world is going on?"

"We want more candy, Theo." Beth laughed.

"Don't tell me that you already ate it all?" I laughed.

"Well, maybe son." Mom laughed.

"We made some candy this morning," Vaylin said.

"Can we try it?"

"You know what how about you guys come to the back and have a little taste test. Let me grab aprons."

"Oh, Vaylin don't forget the hairnets." I winked at her.

"Oh yeah you have to wear these." Vaylin hands them over and I want to laugh when I see my dad's head.

Vaylin was so gracious and went and got the chocolates out of the freezer and let them try what we made today.

Issac and Beau were about to laugh when he saw the hairnets. He leaned over and asked why.

I smirked at him. "It's my family that's why."

Beau laughed before walking off.

"So you helped make this son?"

"I sure did dad. Vaylin and I... I mean my girlfriend and I made all these chocolates."

"Oh, Theodore!" Mom gasped and placed her hand on her chest.

"I saw it a mile off." Dad laughed.

"Ok, you cant eat up all of her profit now. She needs some to sell."

"Oh, I'm not just going to eat the candy and run son. I left a check out front with the cashier."

"Oh, you didn't have to do that Donnie."

"I wanted to Vaylin. It's the least I could do."

"But you have paid every time guys."

"You won't get the last word sweetness just let it go."

"Oh look Donnie he has a pet name for her." Mom smiled.

"Ok, guys she needs to get busy so you need to get going." I laugh.

"Fine brother but we are buying candy out front!" Beth laughed.

"You can keep the hairnets." Vaylin laughed.

Once they bought more candy and left I had to go into her office and sit down.

"What's the matter, Theo?"

"I love them but they drive me crazy."

"Oh, I would love it if my parents were here."

"You said they went to Florida?"

"They did and I would love to go visit at some point but I don't know if I could leave the shop."

"I understand that too. So do you want to make anything else?"

"Yeah, I want to make some milk chocolate strawberry cream."

"That sounds delicious." I stood up and pulled her in my arms and kissed her lips.

She had Issac mix the chocolate while we made the strawberry cream and it smelled heavenly.

Once it was in the freezer we went back to her office. "I don't know about you but we skipped lunch and I'm starving."

"I'm hungry as well Theo. What do you want to get?"

"Why don't we go downtown and grab us a burger?"

"That sounds good. Let me tell Issac that we are leaving."

She grabbed her jacket and handed me mine and went to tell Issac we were leaving.

We walked hand in hand out the back and I opened the passenger door for her and leaned in for a kiss. "Let's go get a burger."
