I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
Come on Barbie, let's go party!
I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Is what I woke up to.
Literally.
Groaning, I rolled over and pulled the pillow over my head to hopefully try and block it out. I got two minutes of uninterrupted peace before the door to the guest room burst open and hands wrapped around my ankles and tugged me out of bed.
"Hey!" I snapped, looking up at the offender through hooded eyes.
Evelyn stood there, hands on her hips and a smirk on her face. The song still blasted on in the background, making me wince. "Get up! It's almost nine and Charlotte has plans for us."
I groaned again and flipped myself over to crawl back into bed. "Oh no you don't!" I heard her say just before her arms wrapped around my waist. My eyes snapped fully open, my body was suddenly super sensitive to the fact that her chest was now pressed securely against my back and her legs touched mine.
I should've worn pants. I scolded myself as my bare skin erupted in heat. A raspy chuckle sounded next to my ear. "Look what you've done, now I don't want to move."
My temperature rose to about a thousand at her words, but I forced myself to remain impassive. "Well, I suppose we will have to make the most of this awkward situation." Before I could talk myself out of it I reached over and pinched her thigh.
Hard.
She yelped and released me, and I immediately dashed out the door, barely holding in my giggles. "You little tease!" She growled, along with what I was sure we're a few Romanian swear words.
I wiggled my eyebrows as she exited the bedroom, her brows drawn together and a frown marring her face, but her eyes were filled with amusement. "Don't make promises you can't keep." I scolded, having recognized a few of the swear words she'd used.
Yes, I searched online for Romanian swear words. Because I'm just that mature.
Her eyes widened for a moment before she lowered her lids and pinned me with a stormy look. Her full mouth curved into a smirk as she slowly moved towards me. My poor heart was doing flips in my chest at the completely seductive way she was looking at me. I cursed softly as my back hit the counter.

She smiled triumphantly. "Don't make promises you can't keep" She mocked.
"Oh shove a-"
"Mommy!"
Saved by the baby.
I snapped my jaw shut and flashed a cocky smile to Evelyn, who had a mildly frustrated look on her face, before I turned, bracing for the impact of a five year old.
"Well hello my love!" I cooed happily and a grinning Charlotte, who looked adorable in her strawberry shortcake Jammie's. I kissed her nose, making her giggle, as I settled her on my hip and turned back to Evelyn.
The frustrated expression was gone, and instead there was a soft smile across her face. Her eyes filled with complete adoration as she looked back and forth between Char and I. She strode over and ruffled Char's hair, making her erupt in giggles before she turned to me.
Her stormy grey eyes were lit up and the laugh lines you normally never see were much more prominent in her face. Her fingers gripped my chin lightly and drew me to her. Her mouth was warm and soft against mine, she tasted faintly of cinnamon and vanilla, coffee she'd had for breakfast.
She pulled away and smiled. "Good morning, inima mea." She rumbled. I placed Charlotte on the ground and watched her run off with the puppy before I returned my gaze to Evelyn's.
Placing a hand over my heart in a dramatic motion, I gave an exaggerated sigh. She looked at me oddly. "What?"
I shook my head, as if I wasn't able to talk about it, but leaned towards her slightly. "I just love it when you talk foreign to me." I stage-whispered.
Her eyes widened and she glanced around the room for a moment to make sure Charlotte wasn't there before her hands suddenly reached around and gripped my butt as she promptly lifted me and set me on the counter.
I squealed in surprise but barely had time to respond before her mouth covered mine again. Where the morning kiss was sweet, this one was spicy. Her lips claimed mine with an almost bruising force and my already hazy mind clouded even more when her tongue suddenly pushed into my mouth. The only other time she'd kissed me with this much desperation and wild passion was when I'd come home a few weeks ago from the store.
Until then we'd basically had no time together. Our relationship was developing wickedly fast and we'd fooled around a few more times before but haven't had sex yet. I wasn't ready. I was still having a hard time sleeping, and more than a few times she'd have to come in during the middle of the night and hold onto me as I screamed and thrashed.

She never asked me why I had the night terrors, I knew she was concerned, but she never pushed me to talk about it. Something I am immensely grateful for and love her even more for. I knew I'd have to tell her eventually, but for now, I just wanted to enjoy this life.
The song had ended long after we parted, and now we just sat there, well, I sat she while she stood in between my legs. Her forehead rested against mine. "Well....that was....hot." I managed to pant out. Her laugh was really just a long breath, the heat of it warming my face.
My hands flexed on her forearms and I licked my lips. Her eyes followed the motion as she leaned down again. I'd just tilted my head back to give her better access when the Charlotte's voice pierced through our haze.
"Mommy!"
Evelyn groaned. "I swear....one of these days I'm locking us in my bedroom and we won't be coming out for a long time." My face bloomed a bright red at her implication, and I bit my lip to stifle the giggle that wanted to erupt.
I pulled away from her before I decided to give in and start something I wasn't sure if I could finish, and went to see what Char wanted. I burst into compete laughter when I saw she'd put one of her doll's dresses onto the puppy.
The poor thing was just standing there with a princess dress on and her tail hanging limply. Evelyn came in also and I immediately lost it again. We laughed for a long time before we managed to get the dress off. It was one of my favorite days.

"Where are we going?" Char asked for like the millionth time. Evelyn looked at me with a "really" look and I smiled sheepishly. "We're going somewhere special." I told her.
The ice cream place was quiet since it was nearing 7pm. The cashier flashed us a smile as we entered. "What would you like?" Evelyn asked me. I shook my head. "I can get my own."
She narrowed her eyes. "One, no you won't, it's my treat. And two, I didn't even mention that, I only asked you what you wanted." Her voice was lightly coated with irritation, and I peeked at her, feeling like a kicked puppy.
"Are you sure?" I didn't like people spending money on me. It made me feel inadequate and like they thought I couldn't pay for myself. I knew it was just ice cream, but still. Her expression softened and she brought her hand up to brush a piece of hair away from my face.
"Let me spoil you, please? I hardly ever get to do this." She pleaded, eyes sparkling at me. I softened immediately and nodded. I knew she had a hard time with connecting. She'd been alone most of her life since her parents died. "Okay."
I ordered an Oreo, Charlotte ordered a Reece's and Evelyn ordered a red velvet. We ate mostly in comfortable silence, smiling occasionally to something Charlotte would say. After wards we piled into the car to head home.
"Thank you." I smiled at her. Her dimples flashed at me but she didn't look away from the road, instead opting to place her hand on my thigh.
The drive back to her home was nice, Charlotte had fallen asleep somewhere in the middle and was snoring softly.
We turned on her lane and out of the corner of my eye I caught a flash of blue. "What was that?" She mumbled under her breath as she inched closer.
My breath seized in my veins as we finally caught sight of her house, and what was in front of it.
Two police cars sat out front, flashing their lights. My heart beat a mile a minute and panic clawed at my throat. "Scout?" Evelyn's voice was worried. I glanced over at her and then at her hand on the gear, nearly sobbing when I saw she'd put the car in reverse. She was already prepared to break the law for me, awesome.
"They've come for me."
