《The Boy with the Beautiful Name》Pick Up

Sara took a deep breath as she examined herself in the mirror Friday morning.
The outfit Bentley had selected for her was very becoming, yet skewed a bit risque.
"Here goes nothing," Sara said to herself.
She heard her bedroom door creak open.
Trash's fluffy head poked through. He looked at her happily, his tail thumping loudly against the door.
"What do you think of my outfit, Trash?" she asked the dog.
He let out a loud bark.
"Excellent answer," she said, giggling. She did one last spin in front of the mirror to make sure her black tights didn't have any tears in them. She detested finding those tears after she'd already left the house. But so far, so good.
When she got outside, she came to a sudden stop.
A huge HUMMER waited silently at the curb.
OH MY GOODNESS! she thought with glee.
Hiking up her purse to keep it from slipping down her arm, she hastened towards it.
She threw her arms around its metal side. "HUMMER, I missed you!"
The large vehicle's side window rolled down automatically. "Hello. Sara. I. Will. Take. You. To. School. Today," the HUMMER's electronic voice said.
Sara was too thrilled for words. She guessed Bentley had called for the vehicle. She'd have to thank him when she saw him.
Sara hopped into the backseat and tucked her legs under her as the door slid shut.
"How are you, HUMMER?" she asked, setting her leather bag down on the seat.
The HUMMER's electronic voice reverberated around her. "I. Am. Feeling. Superbulous. Thank. You. Sara."
The vehicle pulled its enormous war tank body away from the curb and tore down the street.
"What. Song. Do. You. Want. To. Hear?" the electronic voice asked.

Sara thought a moment. She'd loved a song on her field hockey team's warm up track. "Everyone's A Winner is probably my favorite song," she told it.
The HUMMER's high-powered technology quickly sorted through its satellite track to locate the song.
As soon as it found it, the music immediately blasted through the speakers.
Sara threw back her head, laughing hysterically. "HUMMER YOU ROCK...AND ROLL!"
The vehicle sped along the roads, finally zipping into the school's parking lot. It came to a screeching stop.
"Thanks for the ride!" she called, patting its leather chair before sliding down to the ground.
As the HUMMER drove away, a group of students watched Sara with awed expressions.
"That was THE coolest HUMMER I've ever seen. Is that your dad's?" a guy who looked like a freshman asked.
Sara tossed her hair. "I wish my dad's car was that cool," she said laughing. "Actually, the HUMMER belongs to a friend."
"Nice," the guy said.
Pam came hurrying up to Sara, her leather purse banging against her hip.
"Whoa, Sara. Who was that?" she asked curiously. Her eyes followed the HUMMER as it disappeared around a turn in the street.
Sara leaned over to whisper into her ear. "That's one of Bentley's vehicles," she said.
Pam lifted an eyebrow. "Oh, who's driving it?"
Sara forgot about that little secret she had to keep. "Uh, one of his chauffeurs. He has a lot of them." She breathed a sigh of relief when Pam seemed to accept that answer.
"Wow, that's really nice of him to get someone to drive you to school. Is something wrong with your Jeep?" Pam asked.
Sara shook her head. "No. My Jeep's fine."

Pam gave her a teasing, knowing smile. "Oh, I see," she said.
Sara tugged down her tight skirt, realizing, with a start, it rolled higher when she walked. "Bentley's a good person. I mean, I gave him a ride home--"
Well to HER home, she realized. But she couldn't say that out loud.
"--last night, and well, he's probably just thanking me," Sara said.
The girls walked across the parking lot towards the school.
Sara didn't miss the very obvious flash of headlights as she passed by Bentley's sports car, Bad Boy Bentley. She thought she heard its engine rumble slightly when it recognized her. She gave it a quick warning glare to silence it before Pam noticed that his car was rumbling aloud all by itself.
Pam turned to look at her, checking first that no one was within earshot. "What's this? You drove Bentley Prince home last night?" She was smiling furiously now.
Sara sighed. "Look, it was nothing. We're friends. He needed a ride. That was all."
Pam's smile didn't fade. "I know you're withholding very important details," she said. "We'll talk later and you can tell me and Erin all about it." Pam rubbed her hands together, narrowing her eyes and giving Sara a wicked smirk.
Sara burst out laughing. It was obvious Pam saw right through her.
