"Who knew? Giovanni, the son of Dino Russo, would be struggling to keep hold of his own men. It won't be long till word spreads and you'll have to face threats from more people wanting your place." Lucifer said as he drove.

I frowned at him, "Is that your way of threatening me as well?" I asked and he chuckled, "No, no. Not at all. I'm proposing you another deal. See, while you may control all the big guns and trade, you deal with the upper part of the city... The underground is my territory. If you and I join hands, you won't need to worry about anyone trying to rise against you, not the smaller gangs at least."

When I didn't say anything, he raised his hands up and chuckled, "Not that you need my help so to speak, of course you'd do fine just on your own. But think about it... You'll have me and El Drago on your side, the entire world will fear you. We'll be unstoppable."

He's right that it would make me more fortified in my position if I took the deal but it seemed too good to be true. Yes, he'd get a lot of it but it didn't seem like he was asking me for enough... that gave me red flags.

"It won't matter how strong I seem to the outside if my own men don't follow me." I said after a while. "They don't accept Giovanni Russo as their boss- most of them think that I'm not good enough to replace my father- that I'm not wise enough too-"

"Then allow me to be your wisdom." He said cutting me off, "I know these streets- every inch and corner of them. I know the people... if you work with me, you will know it as well. What is it they want you to prove? That you can sell the most? Have the most guns? The most connections? We can make it so there's no way they'll be able to deny you, and you'll live up to the Russo name."

I clicked my tongue and shook my head, "Fuck that name. I'll carve my own out... To hell with it, let them have his name. Whenever people hear Russo their mind immediately goes to him and that's why they become afraid but not anymore... I will take my mothers and make them remember me by it instead."

He clapped his hands as he pulled the car to a stop. "Good."

I looked around and frowned as we'd pulled into the front of a huge mansion. The yard was wide and open and there was nothing else to see for miles behind us. I looked back at him and he smiled and extended his hand out to me once again and I looked down at it,

"One last question." I said, raising my eyebrow and he nodded, "Shoot."

"How did you know?"

"Hmm?"

"How did you know where they went? We left too late to follow them yet you've led me right to where they were. Not only that... you came to help without me calling for you, how did you know they'd attack in the first place?"

He paused and raised his hands before laughing, "Ah... you got me!"

I ducked my head down as bullets began spraying everywhere and groaned out as one of them hit me. I have to get out of this car. I reached up and pulled the handle, opening the door before rolling out onto the ground. I hid behind the car as more shots came my way and I looked over to see him crouched next to me.

"What the fuck are you doing?"

He chuckled and scratched his head, "Well, it is apparent they're meaning to kill me as well so I can't really have that now can I? My job was to deliver you here but it seems they've turned on me as well..."

He pulled out his sword and this time he held two in his hand before standing up as they all reloaded. "I'll make a path for you." He said, pulling them out their sheaths. "Don't waste it."

I have no choice to go through with him, or we're both dead.

He sprinted across the yard and my eyes widened as I watched him run through the gunfire, slicing at the bullets that threatened to hit him. When he came close enough to someone, his sword sliced cleanly through their body, making them headless.

"Giovanni! Now!" He yelled out, pulling me from my daze and I stood up and loaded my gun before running with him.

I either die here, or I break free of this name... and I don't intend on dying.
