《The Billionaire's Maid in Disguise》Fourteen - "As if I'm going to fall for him."

Before I went to bed, I called my best friend, Kimberly Park. She's like my living diary, and I'm the same as her. We update each other about what's going on with our lives.
"That's crazy sis, putting up with all that disguise. But I would do the same if I were in your shoes," she uttered. We've been talking for almost an hour already.
"I know you would. You're as sentimental as I am, when it comes to our loved one."
"That's why we're best friends," she confirmed.
Our friendship started during our first day in university. We sat together in history class and became good friends. We were similar in many ways, that's why we instantly clicked together.
"But your employer is crazy, throwing you into a pool. You could have been killed!"
"Nope, it's a giant pool, actually."
"Come on, I just repeated what you said yesterday," she clicked her tongue, "hmm... What's going on here? You said, he's savage, ruthless and dangerous. Don't tell me after your dinner this evening, now he's nice, kind and charming."
"Excuse me, I did not say that..."
"But you're about to. He got you, sis, you've fallen for his charm. You should be very careful, that man is a red flag."
"Stop it," I blurted, "he's been through a lot."
"Oh no! I can't believe you. Last night, you were so mad at him, calling him a devil, and now, you're defending him. Make up your mind, girl!" she laughed aloud.
"That was before I knew about the accident. Now, I understand him better."
"Careful sis, that man is an expert in women. Being charming is his forte. You've read articles about him, right, so learn from it. He dated too many celebrities, models, even princesses and heiresses. But he never get into a relationship, he has commitment issues."
"As if I'm going to fall for him," I said to her disbelievingly.
"I'm just being protective of you, I don't want you to get hurt," she said, "anyways, I'm going to see you this Saturday, okay? My parents are expecting you."
"Of course, I'll be there, as promised."
It was her dad's birthday dinner, and I promised her parents a month ago that I would not be absent. Mr. and Mrs. Park were also close to me. I always spent time with them because of Kimberly.

"Spend the night here, please..." she begged, "you said Saturday and Sunday are your day offs. We can spend time window shopping, then watch a movie on Sunday."
"Okay, but I have to be back here before five in the afternoon."
"Sure, no worries. I can't wait to see you."
"Me too."
We hung up, and I went to bed ready to sleep. But I could not sleep immediately, I kept on turning on the bed, trying to get a proper position.
I gave up, and spent the next hour reading articles about Kristov Stavrakos. Articles that I ignored before, suddenly I became very curious about.
The following day was my fourth day at work in the Stavrakos mansion. But I felt like it had been a month already, because of many incidents happening.
I met Debbie at the dining room entrance, who knocked my shoulder. She did not apologize, just looked at me, like I was a piece of furniture blocking her way.
Sammy called me to sit next to him, but when I was about to, I stopped. I saw the blond young security guard who let me in the mansion during my first day, sitting across from him.
Unfortunately, the guard saw me, then continued to stare at me. To be honest, I was avoiding him. Every time he came near me, I evaded him.
"Come, Pia," Sammy insisted, but I shook my head, and sat next to Calliope.
"That young security guard sitting across from Sammy, who is that again?"
Calliope eyed the tall, lean, and young blond guy. "Ah... that's Cameron. What about him?"
"He knows the real me. He was the one who let me in. He saw my university identification card, my day of birth is in there."
"I don't think he tells anyone. Confidentiality is important to the guards. But you should talk to him, because you'll be seeing him more often when you go in and out of the estate. He's in charge of the gates."
"I will, um... when I have time today," I replied, then asked her about her wedding preparation. She was very ecstatic talking nonstop about her wedding cake, the food, and everything.
After I did my job in the morning, I walked Snow again. We avoided the master's secret garden and opted to roam around the front garden.

"Hey, you're Pia Rosi, Right?"
I turned around at the sound of the voice behind me, and I got the shock of my life. The guard that I avoided was standing in front of me.
"Um, yeah," my face burned with embarrassment, as I looked up at him. He was so tall, just like Kristov Stavrakos.
"I'm Cameron. I'm in charge of the gates."
"I know," I agreed, "nice meeting you Cameron."
"Interesting. The Pia Rosi that I met four days ago, was a beautiful sexy young woman. What happened to you? Did you age overnight?" he was toying with me, eyeing my appearance with distaste.
My temper flared up immediately, "what do you want?"
"Nothing," he shrugged his shoulders, "I'm just trying to have a friendly chat."
"If you're planning to blackmail me, because you know the real me, then you won't succeed. I'm a scary person to cross with."
"Wow, I'm trembling already," he chuckled, "you know what, you shouldn't go out during the night."
My forehead furrowed, "why?"
"Because you look like a ghost, with your too white face and black dress. Your lipstick would look strange at night, it looks like you've drunk blood."
"You're very mean and obnoxious," I said with gritted teeth.
"Relax, I'm just trying to make you laugh. Loosen up, you look like a tyrant principal in that outfit," he was laughing at me, "don't worry, I'm not going to blackmail you, though the idea is very tempting. But nah. You're lucky, I'm a good guy."
"You call that a good guy? You're laughing at me! Keep doing that and I'm going to report you to Jack."
His laughter slowly died, "actually you haven't changed much. I mean in looks."
"What do you mean? Did we meet before?"
"You don't remember, huh? We met here before, at the Stavrakos party for their employees. I saw you sitting across from me, looking so bored."
My eyes squinted, studying his appearance, "so you were that blond boy, who kept on looking at me."
"Guilty," he twisted the corner of his lips, "you were sleepy, and I was waiting for your face to drop on the pie."
"so you will have a good laugh."
He roared into laughter, "you were so cute too. I couldn't stop staring at you."
I rolled my eyes, and waved my hand in dismissal, "I have to go back to work. Nice meeting you."
"Same here. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me," he assured me, "next time, if it's just the two of us, you can act your age."
"Thanks," I answered, and we both left in separate ways.
Later that evening, I had just finished having dinner, when Jack came and talked to me at the servant's hall.
"The master isn't feeling well. He went home this afternoon all wet from the rain. He was cold and shivering," the tone of his voice sounded very worried.
"Yeah, Calliope told me."
"He hasn't eaten all day, not even coffee."
"That becomes a bad habit. He should stop doing that or he'll die of hunger."
"He's always doing that, at this time of the year," he heaved a long sigh, "FREDA reported in the system that his temperature is 40 degrees celsius. I called him, and asked permission to get his physician, but he insisted not."
"I'll check on him."
"The door is locked. You can't get in."
"Is there some way to get inside?"
"In the balcony. Remember?" he asked, and my eyes rolled. Who would ever forget that easily?
"I'll get you a ladder."
My goodness, another encounter with the balcony.

Da Capo
Da Capo: a music term for 'from the beginning'. Starting all over again. At twenty-seven, Stephanie Ryan had to restart her life Da Capo. After being heartbroken by her ex-boyfriend Leon, Stephanie knew she needed a change. Music had always been her dearest passion in life, so on a whim she left her boring HR job in Boston to live in London with her friend and fellow violinist Lydia. Taking in the culture of classical music in the city would hopefully remind her who she truly was.Kyle Lancaster had been Juilliard's shining star two years ago: a concert pianist graduating at the top of his class, he soon became a well-known name amongst the classical music scene, selling out performance halls nearly every night while on tour. Now he's back home in London teaching a masterclass at the Royal Academy... but so is his ex, the famous violin virtuoso Chloe Alistair. Being here with her will no doubt be awkward, considering how his fans (and his publicists) expect the two of them to get back together. But one day before class, Kyle walked in on a red-haired woman practicing her violin all alone. He found her to be rude, tactless, and utterly infuriating... and before he knew it, all the plans other people had for his life came crumbling down around him.*COMPLETE*
