《D for Depression》Chapter 4: Screwed

So true Hannah, so true.
I keep thinking about her words as the episode playing on the screen. I'm so focused, I don't even hear my door opening.
Suddenly, I feel a tapping on my shoulder which scares me to death.
I take my earphones out and turn around, only to find Khloe smiling at me.
''Surprise'' she yells.
''God! Khloe you scared the shit out of me!'' I scold her, holding my heart.
''Sorry I knocked, but you didn't hear me. Obviously'' she says, pointing at my earphones.
''Right. What are you doing here?'' I ask curiously.
''I came to apologize'' she says. ''And I brought these as a peace offering'', she shakes a bag full of chips in front of me.
''Apologize?'' I raise a perfect eyebrow.
''Well yeah, you know.... about this morning. I admit I was a total douchebag. I shouldn't have told them what happened in the movies. I put you on the spot. And I know you hate that. I'm sorry'', she says, her voice full of sincerity.
''That's ok.'' I quietly respond. ''Just, don't do that again''.
''I promise'' she says, offering her pinky.
I accept with a smile.
''So what are we watching?'', she asks jumping on my bed.
''Mm...13 reasons why?'' I tell her hesitant.
''Ohh please. Don't do this to me. I came here to apologize. Are you going to punish me like that?''.
I chuckle.
''Of course not. How about we watch the rest of the Elite's episodes?'' I suggest.
''Yesssss'' she exclaims, immediately opening a bag of chips, while I put on the series.
''Here'' she offers me another bag of my favorites. Hot Nachos. She knows me so well.
''Wait'' I stop looking at her. ''Aren't you supposed to be on a party right now?''.
''Nah. I prefer to spent my time here. Besides, Samuel's ass is much better for my mental health than some stupid party.'' She winks at me.
I laugh and push the play button.
''What the fuck is going on...Like honestly''. Khloe yells irritated.
''Why would he fuck her? Repeatedly. Is he blind or something?'' she continues.
''I thought we already passed that point. If you are going to mention it every five seconds'', I exhale giggling.
''Well I can't control myself. And don't tell me he is doing this to help his brother. Cause that's a lie. Clearly. Nobody fucks like this and don't caught feelings.''
''How would you know?'' I tease her.

''Oh shut up.''
''Are you seriously jealous of a tv character?'' I laugh.
''No. I just think it is unfair how these beautiful men fell for trash like her''.
''Ouch. You are really upset'' I continue giggling. ''He is not that handsome''.
''Well, considering your taste...I'm not surprised.''
''What do you mean?'' I ask.
''Daphne, the last time I hear you say someone was pretty, was a k-pop idol with cherry hair who looked like a bunny''.
''Hey! Watch yourself when you talk about my bias. Jungkook is really handsome. Especially with brown hair.'' I defend.
''Whatever'' she says, rolling her eyes.
''I guess you have a thing for guys with dyed hair and makeup.''
''What do you mean?'' I chuckle. ''He is not even wearing that much makeup.''
''I'm talking about the guy at the cinema''.
I stop breathing for a moment.
''What about him?'' I ask, looking anywhere but her.
''I don't know, you tell me.'' She replies. ''I admit it was stupid of me, to mention it in front of the others, but I was there D...I know what I saw.''
''And what did you saw?'' I ask her hesitant.
Before she has the time to answer, my bedroom's door open revealing my mom.
''Sorry to interrupt girls. I just wanted to say goodnight. Khloe you are welcome to spend the night here. It's pretty late outside. I don't want you walking around on your own.''
''Thank's Mrs Florence'' Khloe gives her a smile.
''Well have fun and don't stay up too late''.
''Mom we are not five'' I sigh annoyed.
''I know, I know..'' she mumbles closing the door.
''So, are you going to stay here?'' I ask.
''Sure. I came with my car but to be honest, I don't feel like driving all the way back to my house. It's 24:00.'' I look at my clock.
''I just need to let Kassie know I'm not going home.'' She says, typing on her phone.
''Why didn't she come?''
''Cause YOU are MY friend. And she has a boyfriend.'' She adds.
''Which basically means, our single asses don't have anything else to do.'' I chuckle.
''Exactly'' she says, sending the text to her sister. ''Now where were we?''.
''Um..episode four?'' I check the laptop.
''Nice try Daphne. You know that's not what I mean''.
Oh believe me. I know.
''So...cinema guy?'' she raises an eyebrow, crossing her hands.

''I really don't know what to say. Honestly. I don't even now his name. He was just happened to be there with his friend and they helped me. That's all.''
''Well it didn't look like that to me.'' She responds in a low voice.
''Then why don't you tell me how it looked like ?''I say pretending I don't care, when I'm lowkey freaking out.
''I'm not even sure I can explain it'' she mumbles.
''Why not?''
''It's just...when we opened the door, you were laying across his lap and he was caressing your hair.. as if you knew each other. You were both looking so caught up in the moment. Like you were the only people in the world. I can't explain it better.''
Well, you don't have to. I know exactly what you mean. I felt that. The question is, if he felt it too.
''Aren't you going to say anything?'' she asks.
''Um.. I don't know what to say.. I really can't explain it myself either. It was so surreal.''
''I mean of course. You almost passed out. It must me terrifying. Although, I would be more afraid to accept his help.''
''What? Why?'' I ask curious.
''He was just so.. intimidating. And not only because of the makeup look. His whole vibe screamed danger. But a sexy one.'' She adds with a mischievous smile on her face.
I immediately blush.
''What? Don't pretend like you didn't notice. You were drooling over him.''
''I was-sn't.''
''And you stutter.'' She giggles.
''Stooop.'' I say shyly.
''I don't blame you. I mean I'm not sure about his face, but the body was a-ma-zing.'' She exclaims.
''Did you check him out? What about the whole danger vibe thing?'' I tease her.
''I did with the corners of my eyes. Besides. It's not like you can ignore an elephant in the room.''
Thinking about it, I didn't pay much attention to his form. I was too mesmerized by the perfect features on his face.
''And how was the elephant?'' I ask clearly intrigued by where the conversation was going.
''Like an actual god. I mean he was at least 1,80 tall, long legs and really built up. I guess he is one of those freaks who actually enjoy going to the gym.'' She sarcastically replies.
''Wow..that's a lot of details for a peripheral vision.'' I keep teasing her.
Athough, I feel excited. Talking about him is like an energy shot to my body.
She throws me a pillow and we both start laughing.
''Do you really not know his name?'' she asks, breaking our laughter.
''No. I didn't ask. I didn't talk that much actually'' I respond disappointed.
''Well that's sad''. I hear her say.
I know.
Suddenly her phone rings. I look at the time. 24:20.
Oh that's not good.
''Yes?'' she answers.
Loud music can be heard on the background.
''What? Mikaela speak louder, I can't hear you.'' Khloe says.
I have a bad feeling over this.
''What do you mean you can't find her. Did you call her?''
I hear mumbling from the other side of the line.
''God ok. Keep calm. We are coming.''
''Wait what's happening?'' I ask, while Khloe stands up from my bed, putting on her shoes.
''Zoey is missing. She ran off with some random guy and she is not peaking up her phone. Mikaela has freaked out.''
''I mean that sounds like her'' I mumble under my breath.
''Aren't you going to dress up? Or you are coming like this?'' she points at my pjs.
''Khloe you know, I would anything for you guys, but don't you think we are overreacting? It is not the first time Zoey does something like this. I'm sure she is going to show up tomorrow with a pear of dark glasses and a terrible hangover ''I say calmly.
''Well in any other case I would've agree with you, but Mikaela said she heard some of his friends talking about selling drugs and staff like that. You know what happened the last time she messed with these things.''
My mind immediately travels on our first year in university. When we were just starting to become friends.
We used to go out a lot. Well I used.
One of those nights Zoey got drunk and left with some guy we didn't even know his name. The thing is, that guy gave her heavy drugs she was not used to. I mean we all smoked a little weed once in a while, but that was it. We spent hours looking for her, only to find her passed out in front of the campus. She was unconscious for 2 days at the hospital.
The good thing was, he didn't touch her. The moment she passed out he ditched her, probably too afraid to face the consequences. After that, none of us ever got close to these things. We were too afraid, too shaken.
Well fuck it. We are screwed.
