《Alpha Daryl Reeds》Chapter 8

Kelvin ends up sitting on the couch as Katy tries to feed the growing party. Harrell and I sit at the table set for four Rosemary has joined us sitting away from Kelvin. She doesn't meet his eyes just looks at her bowl of soup. I gladly take a bowl from Katy loving her soup, Harrell talks about random things he did as a child and I listen smiling.
The house is warm, a happy setting. It was nice after all the time I've been with Daryl I don't have to scream and yell I don't have to talk back of I don't want too. It's like being at home with my family, homesickness hits me hard then, so does the thought of eating, I take a spoon full of soup and put it into my mouth. Tastes like home, I eat and eat until there is nothing in my bowl.
Kevin takes his eyes off Rosemary, and watches me. He doesn't stare at me like Daryl does he is curious and seems to want to know the girl that's supposed to help lead his pack.
Once lunch is over Katy puts on some music and I sit beside Rosemary.
"I know what your going through." I say rubbing her shoulder.
"How could you possibly understand?" She asked me.
I smiled at her. "Daryl and I aren't doing well, for a month and a half I locked myself in his room never coming out not to eat not to talk nothing." I don't tell her that it was actually longer than that and today was the first day I've eaten in months.
"Is that why your so skinny?" Rose asked me
"Yes, and every time Daryl and I are in the same room all we do is yell at each other." I tell her. "Kelvin is with me because Daryl asked him to watch me because I'm still not eating."
"But you ate my mom's food." She tells me.

"I trust your mom."
"But you can't trust your mate?"
"I don't know him." I answer her
Rosemary bites her lip. "You didn't know my mom want made you trust her?"
"Her kindness."
"What does this have to do with my mate?"
"Before you judge him and reject him try to get to know him a little bit then see if you want to be his mate or not."
"Your going to be a great Luna." Rose says hugging me. I smile, looking at Katy from across the room.
Rose gets up, and walks over to Kelvin shyly she says something to him and he says something back they begin talking. Katy comes over to me.
"What did you say to her?"
"Told her to get to know him a bit then decided if she wants him as a mate or not."
"Do you want kids?" Katy asked me sudden.
"Someday." I tell her though I didn't know if that would be possible.
"You'll be a great mom." She tells me, I smile sadly if Daryl and I don't get along I'll never get that dream.
I should do what I told Rosemary get to know Daryl.
~~~~~~
Later when the sun was setting Kelvin and I begin to head back towards Daryl's house, Rosemary comes with us and I could tell she was very uncomfortable she kept pulling down the dress she was wearing, it must have been white since it looked like an off color sort of yellowish, her long dark brown hair was in a messy bun on the top of her head.
"Are . . .you sure?" Rosemary asked a little shaky.
"Now Rose if Daryl gives you any trouble I'll make sure he can't hurt you." I butt in knowing she probably was afraid that Daryl was going to make her go back to the village.
I needed to figure out how to make Daryl get rid of that damn village I still didn't think it was right the way he was treating the Omega's they were still people. And not all Omega's were weak. Some were just born Omega because of their parents.
Daryl wasn't home when we walked through the front door, I take Rosemary up to my room so she can shower and dress in some of the clothes Axel had brought me. Kelvin sat at the dining room table, he looked up when I return.
"How is she?" He asked nervously
I smiled at him I could already tell that he was going to treat her like a princess. "She's showering." I answered he nods at me.
We both sit in silence, lost in our own thoughts I kept playing the evening over and over in my head. I loved the way Harrell and Katy were I was sort of jealous of them they worked great together, Harrell was an office person for someone in town, Katy was a maid for the pack house. They both came home and talked about their day, Katy loved to sing while Harrell loved to draw.
Katy was the cook in the house while Rosemary helped, she was the youngest of five her older siblings have mates and moved out or to different packs. If an Omega from Daryl's pack had a mate from a different pack they had to go with their mate and couldn't come back, not even to visit family.
It hurt Katy's feeling cause from what she's heard from her son's that she's got two grandbabies that she'll never meet. Her first born was killed a few months ago, and his mate has two children. They live in my old pack, her second child has a mate but she can't have kids but they want to adopt a baby from a human orphan.
When a werewolf adopts a human they must live the werewolf community and go live with humans they can no longer shift or be part of the werewolf community meaning that they could never visit family and family couldn't visit them. It was sad Katy couldn't be a grandmother until Rosemary had any children if she chose too.
"She's fine, Kelvin." I tell him.
He nods and begins pacing, I watch him for a little bit, he was tall like Daryl with the same black hair unlike Daryl, Kelvin had light hazel eyes, Daryl's are stormy blue, or were when he was mad or pissed off. When he wasn't fighting with me they were a bottomless blue sea. Kelvin had a tattoo running up the side of his arm, which looks kind of like a snake.
The maid from the kitchen puts two plates of dinner on the table. "Oh, can you add one more?" I asked kindly.
"Oh! Alpha Daryl ya esta en casa?" She asked in Spanish looking around as if he might come out of nowhere. Thank goodness I took Spanish classes in school.
"No, no um Beta Kelvin here has found his mate she'll be joining us." I tell her.
She looks at Kelvin. "Compañera?"
Kelvin blushed. "Si una compañera madre."
The maid goes to reply when Rosemary enters the room, her hair damp from the shower my clothes a bit too small on her. "Luna?" She says softly.
"Hey," I said. "There's dinner if your hungry."
From the far side of the room, I heard the front door slam shut. Time to get this party started. I think to myself looking at Rosemary who looks at the floor.
