《Alpha Daryl Reeds》Chapter 7

"Dinner wasn't that bad was it?" Daryl asks me.
I weakly smiled at him I had spent the whole dinner I hiding my food in my lap. I haven't really been eating it, the sight of food still kind of makes me nauseous. I knew this wasn't a good idea but I really just wanted to go home. I hated it here, and Fred I wanted to see him so badly.
"Yeah, I guess." I lie
"I have some Alpha duties. I have to take care of you want to stay here I'll have my Beta come and watch you." Daryl says
"I don't need a babysitter!" I say in out range.
"I'm not letting you with a babysitter but someone needs to make sure you're eating!" Daryl yells at me.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I yelled back.
"Don't think I didn't notice that you were hiding your food in your lap!"
"I . . . It's none of your business!" I finally yelled. I was caught, I thought he wasn't paying attention
"Joyce, haven't you noticed how long you've been here?"
"A month a half." I answered.
"No, Joyce, it's been three months. It's March."
"What? No I . . . I" I trail off. March? What when did that happen? The snow though it wasn't melting or still on the ground like it would be if it was January or February. March is when the snow melts when flowers try to grow, the last of the winter hits sudden. Have a really been gone for 3 months? Fred has been in a coma for 3 months.
"This isn't healthy and since you've been here you haven't been eating your in this depressed state."
"I'm not depressed." I say it was true I wasn't there was a huge difference between depression and homesickness I lie to myself. I didn't know the truth, depression only with came with grief to a werewolf. No one has died yet, at least that I knew of, or was this because I didn't get to say goodbye?
"You know what? You need to get out of the house staying cooped up in here all day long isn't good for you either." Daryl says to me pulling me out of my thoughts/

"I'm okay staying inside all day and every time I explore the territory, all it does is make me pissed off at you! For who you are you're! A monster for how you treat your pack."
Daryl clutches his jaw before he can say anything that was a knock on the door. The woman in the kitchen whose name I'm yet to learn goes to answer the door, amen with Shaggy blonde hair, sun-kissed tan, and the deepest blue eyes I've ever seen walks through the door.
"Alpha," the guy says bowing his head.
"Kelvin," Daryl says. "Joyce, this is my Beta."
"Whatever." I say walking out of the room. I don't go back upstairs I was getting tired of sitting looking up at the same wall all day long.
Going down a hallway that I never seen before I ended up in the living room a black leather couch against the far wall, a rug in the middle, a coffee table on top of it the same color as the couches, and a tv against the far wall.
A game system sat on the bottom of the table stand the tv was on. I didn't take Daryl too much of a gamer, I wondered when he had the time.
Kelvin joined me in the living a few minutes later, I was sitting on the couch trying to figure out what remote worked the tv. I picked up the third one and pushed the on button. Nothing. Trying another it didn't work either, Kelvin watched me pick up the last one it clicked on.
I started flipping through channels, I was looking for ABC Family, before I remember they changed to Freeform. Finding it I see the new show Shadownhunters was playing I make a face. I hated this show, after reading the book I became a fan but once I got past the first season I hated this show was nothing like the books. I don't understand how the allowed the Tv show to change so much that it's nothing like the books.
"Hey, change it back!" Kelvin says

"No, way that show the worse." I say looking for another show. I hoped Family Guy was on or American Dad, or Futurama.
"It's my favorite show." Kevin whined
"Ugh, the books are sooooo much better." I argued
"I don't like reading." Kevin stated.
I drop the remote and stare at him like he's crazy. "No."
"Oh no." He says knowing that he probably said the wrong thing.
"Yeah, you probably shouldn't have said that." I tell him.
"Sorry Luna, I didn't know that you were such a book reader."
"It's fine, just never say that again in front of me." I say. "Now come on I want to get out of the house."
"I don't think that's a good idea Luna." Kelvin says
"Who's side are you on?' I asked him
"I'm not picking a side I'm just saying."
Sighing loudly at him I give up, I wasn't going to win was I? "Fine, you can stay here i want to get the hell out of the house."
I ran upstairs to put my hair up in a ponytail and put shoes on, I wanted to see how Harrell, Katy, and Rosemary were it's been so long since I had dinner with them.
Kelvin walks before me not saying anything he was like an annoying shadow. "You can't go in there." He finally says when we reached the Omega Village.
"I can and I will." I said walking through the gates.
He mumbles something under his breath, it sounded like "I'm not getting in trouble for this."
I walk ahead of him some of the villagers smile at me some wave. I smile and wave back. They must really like me, I thought to myself.
I walk down the path Katy had dragged me down that day I had my breakdown. Going to her door, I watch as Kelvin perk up like a hunting dog on point I knew that feeling he was sniffing out his mate.
Knocking on the door Harrell answers. "Oh!" He says in surprise. "Luna, how good it is to see you. Come in come in."
Kelvin and I walked in the door of the Harrell eyes, Kelvin but doesn't say anything.
"Harrell?" Katy calls from the kitchen. "Who at the door?"
"Luna Joyce," Harrell calls back.
"Luna?" Rosemary calls from the kitchen walking out of meet me. She stops in her truck and looked at Kelvin.
"Mate!" She says before dropping the pot that she was carrying and running up the stairs I grab hold of Kelvin arm for he can follow her up the stairs.
"But-" I cut him off before he can say anything.
"Let her come at her own will." I tell him letting him go.
"But . . ." He trails off at the look on my face.
"Look at what she has to live with." I say "them comes the Beta he lives in a big house has a big rank, and gets respected she most likely has to hide behind her hair in class can't invite friends over because she's embarrassed at what she has."
Kelvin bites his lip he doesn't say anything Katy and Harrell are watching me as I take a sit in front of Harrell.
We all pretend we can't heard the screaming sobs that come from Rosemary, from up stairs. Katy looks like she wants to go to her daughter but Harrell shakes his head so she picks up the pot Rosemary dropped and cleaned up the mess.
I sit and try my best to not jump up to help her, I remember the last time I tried to help.

Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!
