Thomas felt dead after the ENGL 327 final exam. He dragged himself back to his dorm and threw a hot pocket into the microwave. Laying on his bed, he lazily turned on his computer.
Sure, Thomas felt tired. But it was too early to sleep. At least his neighbor thought so. The wall did not block much of the creak or moan.
Starlight Road II finished downloading... Thomas supposed that taking a peek wouldn't hurt. It's a break well deserved. No, not a break, definitely not a break. It's for educational purposes... and career development!
Putting on his DDVR helmet, Thomas took a deep breath and selected Starlight Road II.
In the void virtual space, a sentence appeared in front of him.
Do you agree to the terms of agreement? [Yes/No]
Thomas poked terms of agreement. An encyclopedia sized contract materialized in front of him. It was 8 sized font.
Therefore, Yes.
Have you really read the terms of agreement? [Yes/No]
Thomas laughed and pressed [Yes].
Are you really absolutely sure you want to be a beta tester? [Yes/No]
What's the worst that could happen? Thomas didn't even have his credit card linked to the game. Yes.
Instantly, the space of darkness dazzled with blinding light. Thomas made a mental note to check with the optometrist if he didn't become blind.

Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)
