"What..?" 'Eh? What is sir Exios saying-'

"Liliana.. do you really not remember anything?" Asked the doctor in a gentle way.

"no.. i really don't remember"

The doctor sighs and drinks the cup of tea that was on the table.

"You're not lying. You really do have amnesia." Suddenly the doctor's smile faded away.

"Whatever happened yesterday, you really must rest. It looks like your body couldn't almost handle something.. powerful. But i still have to check the results, after i scan you. I have an idea what it might be.. but.. i might be wrong."

"And that is?" Asked mister Exios

" sigh Do you really want me to say it here? Or do you want to talk in private, mister Exios?"

I looked at Exios and he looked at me.

"I guess.. we will have to talk in private."

'mhm..'

Exios and the doctor got up and left the room, leaving me alone.

'Well.. then i'll just eat breakfast first.. the doctor said that my body couldn't handle something powerful and it looks exhausted.. but i'm actually.. felling well..?'

I didn't feel any pain or tiredness from my body. I really couldn't feel anything. To me it looked like my body was doing great.

' I wonder what they are talking about..'

I waited for a couple of minutes and they finally came back.

"Okay, Liliana would you please stand up?" The doctor had his smile on his face, again.

I looked at Exios and he was at tìhe kitchen washing the dishes.

"Yeah.. sure.."

I stood up and the doctor took out something. It was a form of a ball, but it was very pretty.

It was black with silver decorations on it.

He pressed a button, somewhere on the ball and..

Chiing!

A bright light flashed on me for a second. But i still had my eyes wide open. It didn't had any effect on me.

"It didn't hurt you?" The doctor continued smiling at me.

"Uh.. no? Was it suppose to hurt me?"

"Oh, not really. But.. it's surprisingly interesting.."

'Uhm.. okay..?'

"We are done with the scanning. I'll bring the result next week"

As the doctor was about to leave the room..

"Oh! You really have natural white bright eyes. They're pretty, but can cause trouble. For now put on some color lenses, okay? Make sure nobody knows about your beautiful white eyes."

The doctor left and Exios was sitting with me on the table.

"Kid.. hey.."

"Yes?"

"Could tell me in detail.. about where you woke up?"

"I'll try.." 'Well.. i guess it will help me recover my memory'

"The place where i woke up was a place filled with violet flowers. A really big crystal lake.. there weren't really many trees. I noticed that there were violet butterflies flying around.. they were kind of the size of.. your hand? I guess.."

"You.. you really were at the emperial palace.. oh god.." Exios puts his hands on his face.

"What's.. the problem?" ' why is sir Exios like this? Did i said something wrong?'

"Mister Exios." Said the doctor with a serious face.

"Where did you find that kid?"

"Exios i can't help you with this one. You have to take care of it by yourself. Do it now or else.. it's gonna be too late"

"Also.. i think you shouldn't tell her. She might go in panic and distress. She's still a little kid.. but i think something traumatic might have caused her amnesia. I don't think that.. getting her memories back is a good idea."

"Take down the flyers, now."

Mister Exios still didn't respond to my question, as if he's in deep thoughts.

"Sir.. Exios..?"

"Kid.. i-"

He took a deep breathe and looked at me.

"I was wrong. You weren't at the Emperial Palace, i thought you were there cause the place you described to me looked familiar, but you didn't see any tall buildings so.. it's fine" He smiled.

"Is.. the emperial palace a bad.. place?"

"No.. it's.. not. Don't worry, i'm going to help you find your parents" He continued smiling at me.

'His smile looks.. genuine. He really is a good guy hehe'

"I'm going to buy somethings, do you want to come?"

"Sure.. but the doctor said that i need to put on some.. color lenses?"

"Yes, we will buy that. Don't worry, i have some sunglasses to cover your eyes"

"Sunglasses?"

"How you doing kid? Can you see or.. is it.. too big for you?"

We got out from the tavern and started walking around. Mister Exios gave me these sunglasses, so that i can cover my white eyes.

"It fits! I can see!"

But i was more astonished by the city. There were many colorful things.

"Woah.. This place is so pretty!"

"You like this place? Ahaha, it really is a pretty place. You know when i was a kid...." blah blah blah

Something caught my eye.

'What.. are.. THOSE?!'

I noticed some little creatures trapped in a cage, but these little creature were very.. enchanting.

There was some kind of a little dog, but it's fur color is black and some light shining blue marks on it. It's eyes were light blue.

'That's.. so.. CUTEE!!'

Then there was a little baby panda, which it's fur is red and it's eyes were also red.

'This one is also CUTEE AA!'

"And so yeah, my childhood here was very- OOF!"

I stopped Exios as i was still affascinated by the little creatures in the cage.

"what.. are.. THOSE?!"

I pointed at the little creatures.

"Ohhh, so you were affascinated by them ,huh?"

"I.. want.. to see them.. upclose!!" I said while jumping up and down in an excited way.

"Fine, fine.." smiles

"Papa! What are those?!" The little boy jumped up and down in an excited way.

"Your mom is gonna kill me, BUT let's goo!"

"Look! Papa! I'm petting it!! Chuckles"

"Mister Exios! They are soo cute!!! Chuckles" As i tried petting the little black dog.

"Well hello there, little one" Said a woman with short red wavy hair.

"You interested in buying one? I have all the kinds" smiles

"uh.. no thanks. I don't think i can take care of it.."

"Well then it's okay. As long as you're happy petting it, have fun. Tell me which type of creatures you want to pet next, i'll make sure to-"

The woman stopped talking as she saw mister Exios, her eyes widen up.

"Crimson.. hey." Said Exios.

"E-Exios?"

"you.. know eachother?" I looked at them both. Mister Exios seemed happy to see her, while miss Crimson was in.. shock?

"T-THIS IS YOUR CHILD?!" Exclaimed the lady.

"N-no! It's not my child. I'm just helping her."

"Oh god. That scared me for a second- i-i mean it was sudden- it surprised me!"

"yeah.. so uh what have you been doing?

"Me? Oh just roaming around the world. Travelling across countries and cities, vending them these little creatures or other stuff."

"Oh? So you started to be a traveller?"

"Yeah.. i quitted being a.. you know.. Assassin."

My eyes widen up as she said that. 'A WHAT?!'

"Well you were really great at your work. You were even one of the top 10."

"Yeah.. i really thought that my future was that, but.. after getting a mission that consisted in.. killing a child? I couldn't do it. I just.. couldn't, you know? It didn't bother me killing adults, rich men, aristocrats. But.. this child was poor. I didn't know why i needed to kill him."

"Well.. i'm glad you chose this path. I really am. I finally stopped trying to catch you. Chuckles"

"Sheesh. Whatevs.. how have you been doing?"

"I'm.. i'm doing okay. As you already heard i started working in my tavern. You should visit there sometime."

"Hey.. i'm really sorry about.. what happened. I thought you would.. you know.. get revenge, but you're actually doing fine. And i'm glad."

"Well.. i guess we kinda have the same past.."

"IYAAAHH!" As Exios was about to kill someone with his sword..

"Tell.. Amaya.. that.. i.. tried.. Tell them.. that.. i.. love.. them" Said a man laying on the ground.. bleeding. The man smiled as he's ready about something..

Exios took a deep breathe and..

"Oh!" The lady noticed me.

I was still petting the little creatures, but i was still in shock about her being an assassin.

'Pretend. That. You. Didn't. Hear. A. Thing.'

"Hey there! You having fun? What's your name?"

"m-my n-name i-is L-Liliana a-and i-im having- r-real f-fun!" I said while stuttering. 'She won't suspect anything.'

"Hey, Liliana, you alright?"

"Y-yep!"

"Oh right. By any chance, do you have any color lenses?"

"Yeah, i do. Come in"

"Let's go kid."

'Am.. i.. going.. into a Assassin's place? Am.. i.. going.. to.. witness.. BLOOD?!'

I entered anyway, even tho i was a bit scared.

"Welcome, take a seat."

'Well.. this wasn't what i was expecting it to be..'

The place was rather like a cottage house, but a small one. There were so many things placed everywhere. Many objects, books, jars, flowers, swords, guns.

It was really messy inside. Me and Mister Exios sat down on a wood chair.

"You okay, kid?"

"Yeah.. i'm fine" sigh of relief

"Okkei! I'm back!"

The lady came back with a long towel. She places the towel on the table and folds open it. There were many color lenses with different colors.

"Choose a color! There is brown, dark grey, yellow and purple!"

"Woah.." I noticed that there was a bright red color lenses. The color of that lenses were.. familiar. As if.. i've seen them somewhere.. they were also captivating. I took the red lenses.

"I want this."

"Oh right, i forgot. We also have red lenses- RED?!" Exclaimed the lady.

"Yes, red. This color is really.. pretty.."

"Nope." The lady took the red lenses.

"I forgot to take them out. Sorry.."

"No, it's fine. I wasn't going to take the red lenses anyway. I'll take the purple one." Said mister Exios.

"But.. i want the red ones."

"Kid.. you can't take those."

"Why not?"

"Wait- she doesn't know?"

"She.. doesn't remember.." Mister Exios kneeled in front of me.

"Listen kid.. In this place red eyes are.. kind of prohibited. It's dangerous roaming around with red eyes. As you can see almost all of the people here have brown, dark grey, yellow and purple eyes. If anyone sees you with.. red eyes they are.. going to get a bad idea. They might think that you are an enemy. I don't want that to happen, especially to a kid. I don't want you..."

"I'm sorry.. i'll get the purple lenses then.."

"Thank you, kid." smiles

"I should really put this on a another shelf. Sighs"

"Oh, right" Mister Exios stood up.

"Crimson i have a favor to ask you. I can't do this alone.. since.. it's everywhere"

"And what's that?"

"This morning i've put around some flyers, describing this little girl, and i've put them... almost everywhere."

"And?"

"And.. i need your help to take all of them down."

"What? What do you mean?"

"Just.. please help me. I'll repay you, i promise"

" sighs oh Exios. Where did you put the flyers?"

" I've attached them.. almost everywhere in this area."

" You.. i'm.. going.. to.. FUCKING KILL-"

'huh?' I heard a noise coming from an area of the little house. The area was a bit dark and was full of books and..

'Do.. not.. touch.. these? Cursed objects?' Some charming objects full of stick notes on them.

"EXIOS I SWEAR TO-"

"Crimson i will really repay you!"

While the other two were arguing.. i started to walk towards the noise.

"Oh Exios.. you might be glad that i quitted on being an assassin, BUT I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN MY SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU DUMB FUCK!"

"Crimson- Stop making all this fuss! You just need to take down the flyers!"

"YOU DO KNOW THAT IF SOMEONE RECGONIZES ME I'LL HAVE TO MOVE OUT AGAIN! I JUST MOVED HERE YESTERDAY!!"

"Crimson.. you have a lot of things.. can't you jsut change your appearance? "

"Oh- That's right."

"How.. did you even.. manage to get to the top 10..? You are much dumber than i expected." sighs

I got closer.. and closer.. and then..

fiiiuuuu!

Something came out. It jumped at me. I gasped.. it was another creature.. but this time the creature was different. Very different.

This little creature.. didn't seem like an animal.. like the other ones.

"What was that sound..?" Asked mister Exios as he turned in this direction.

"Oh shit- DON'T TOUCH THAT!" Exclaimed the lady.

"What.. are.. you..?"

The "creature" i couldn't see it very well, since it was so dark in the area where we were. But as the sunligh slowly moves from our direction.. it was slowly showing itself.

"..a shadow?.."

The little creature was still and looking at me. It was on top of my chest and it didn't seem like it had a body.. instead

it seemed like a moving flame.. but a black flame version. It's eyes were white, like mine. It's head, if it ever had one, tilted as it was looking at me.

"Crimson what is that?"

"Exios take Liliana out of there, now!"

Sir Exios grabbed me, the little creature fell on the floor.

"uuk!" exclaimed the little creature with a soft voice.

Click!

A flash suddenly appeared and the little creature was gone.

"Crimson.. what was that?"

"Exios.. breathing heavily that.."

"Crimson. What was-"

"I only recently found it! I didn't know what it was, but as soon i tried to touch it.. it almost burned my finger."

"What?"

"Is Liliana okay? Is she hurt?"

Exios looked at me, trying to see if i was hurt.

"i'm actually.. okay."

"Wait, really? It didn't burn your chest? Or anything?"

"Crimson.. Why would you keep something dangerous here?!"

"I actually locked it in a cage! I don't know how it got out!"

"God.. Let's just get out of here and take the flyers down. I'm not letting the kid enter this place again. I'll pay the lenses outside"

"I'm so sorry.."

I took a last glance and saw the little creature peeking.

'It was nice meeting you' i smiled.

After that Mister Exios payed for the lenses, lady Crimson and Mister Exios took down the flyers around the area, i had ice cream while following them. Thanks to them i got to explore the city a but more!

Also there were many people who knows mister Exios, he seems to be very popular!.

Right now i'm helping mister Exios with the tavern, he's doing the cooking while i do the cleaning..

even tho it's kind of hard since the vroom is a bit big for my size. I tend to fall sometimes.

"Kid you sure you want to help? I don't want to fatigue you chuckles"

"Mister Exios you've been helping me so much so let me repay for your kindness!"

"Fine, you are such a good kid! By the way, dinner is almost ready."

Din-ring-din-ring

Someone entered the tavern.

"Huh? The tavern is closed at this hour!"

"Exios, it's me."

I looked at the man that was standing at the door. It was..

"Clarkson?"

It's the same man that looked at me in a strange way the other day.

"Yep, hey there kid. Your name is Liliana, right?"

I noded, but kept cleaning the floor.

"What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to apologize, for the other day. I drank too much and got a bit.. surprised."

"Mhm.. i guess it's fine. I've never seen you asking that many questions before."

"Yeah, ahah. Sorry about that"

"Aren't you suppose to be at the palace right now? Guarding or something?"

'Palace?'

"No, it's my day off today. I know that i'm an emperial knight, but i also need a day off, don't you think?"

"Well, i guess?"

"Well, weren't you also one of the emperial knights?"

Mister Exios stopped cooking.

"Oh wait. I mean.. weren't you one of the greatest warriors of Ephamour Empire? You were my senior back then ahaha. Good times, haaah.."

"Why are we talking about this right now?"

Mister Exios started cooking again. I continued cleaning and listened to the conversation. I couldn't understand what they were saying..

"You know... why did you even quit? You wanted revenge. But.. you stopped. And now you're doing.. alright?"

"Clarkson don't talk about this now. "

"Bullshit. Exios, dear friend, you know how the Emperor adores you, right?"

"Enough Clarkson. Get out, now." Mister Exios turned towards Mister Clarkson.

'Uh.. well.. this is...'

"..."

"If you came here just to talk about this then even fucking dare come back here."

"Fine, i'll leave."

As Mister Clarkson was about to leave..

"One last thing. The emperor gave me this for you. Read it carefully."

Mister Clarkson left an envelope on the table near the door and then he left.

Ding-ring-ding-ring

" sighs i'm sorry you had to witness that kid."

"Who was that?"

"He.. he's one of my friends. I guess."

"Why was he mad at you?"

"He's trying to get me back.. back to who i was before.."

"uhm.. who.. you were..? I'm confused.. were you a different person.. before?"

" chuckles that's right.. "

" you mean that.. you were much happy before? I saw the picture frames on the walls."

Exios looked at me

"All of them showed the same emotion. Happiness. But.. there was one picture frame that.. seemed.. sad. The one were you were standing next to the tavern. You were.. alone. Unlike the other ones."

"...."

"May i ask.. what happened to the woman and the.. kid?"

Exios turns around and starts cooking again. He smiled.

"It all started here."
