《Destroy The Heavens!》Prologue-The Kingdom Struck Down

An ancient kingdom stands shrouded in darkness and bathed in an infinite blackness. Looming over the kingdom, a twisted spiral of metal and demonic magic Pierce’s the sky. Wolves, tens of meters long and tens of meters tall, seem almost minuscule in comparison to innumerable dragons, flying around the city, with clouds of miasma coiling around them. Towering giants and frightening disfigured horned demons, true monsters, move around submissively, seemingly fearful of disturbing the peace of the city.
Inside the spire, a large hall, decorated with fine black chandeliers, candles burning blue, and deep purple carpet, sits the king, Dmitrius, on the Twilight Throne. Covered in shadow, he looks coldly down upon his advisor, who rushed to his liege, to inform him of Heaven's decree. The advisor says, "Lord, Heaven has ruled that you may not have a child."
Dmitrius, in an alarmingly calm tone, slowly responds," What did you just say?"
The advisor, fearfully and nervously stutters out an answer," I...I said t..th...that Heaven h...has decreed that you, m...my king, can...cannot have a child."
Dmitrius, filled with anger, replies coldly,"Very well." He stands up and disappears, in a swirl of dark energy. Dmitrius reappears in a long, wide chamber, with walls covered in bright green venom, flowing down from vents in the ceiling. The darkness surrounding Dmitrius disperses, and he becomes fully visible. Dmitrius has long black and silver hair, with deep crimson eyes and strong features.
His wife, Alitra, the lamia queen, appears from a room, occluded by the flowing green venom, asks him impatiently,"Dmitri, how did Heaven rule?"
Dmitrius looks to Alitra and steps forward so that he is but half a meter away. He takes her into his arms and sadly replies,"We have been denied the right to a child..."Alitra, in shock, says nothing. Dmitrius smirks and continues, firmly stating,"But I refuse to give in to the demand it has made."

Alitra, confused, starts to say,"What do you..." However, she is cut off by her husband, who begins to kiss her. Alitra's long, resplendent green tail coils around Dmitrius, and they disappear into their room... White lightning cracks overhead, striking the great spire.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nine months later, Dmitrius' and Alitra's child is born. All the kingdom bows to the heir of the Twilight Throne and the great spire of Aruel lights up in reverence. The Heavens start to light up, angered, and within mere minutes, the entire kingdom is destroyed, with only a single boy alive. The prince, immediately after being born, was put into the safest place in the spire; he and the Twilight Throne were placed into the shelter below the great spire.
An old man, a friend of the royal family, arrives upon the destruction but a day after the event and falls to his knees crying, devastated. After a moment of weakness, he shakes off his tears, then looks up and sees the remnants of the great spire. He walks slowly there, and when he arrives, he starts to sort through all the broken bits and pieces of the tower. After over two hours of searching, he finds the door to the secret shelter. Opening the hatch, he climbs into the chamber. Upon noticing the child sleeping on the Twilight Throne, he picks up the boy, touches the throne, causing it to disappear, and walks slowly back to his home...

Join him and his comrades as they accomplish the first of the Good Necromancers legendary tasks. ***** So, quick update for those who pay attention to this section. I'm finally coming out of finals for this semester, and I plan on getting the whole already posted section revised. It's taken me a while to change the necessary things, as I had to start all the way over, but I've at least got the rough drafts for all the revised chapters. These should be going up within the next week or so, still have to go to work, but I am here, I haven't forgotten or dropped the story. Just trying to make this the best work that I can produce. P.S. I will be releasing additional stories. They are all going to be in the Good Necromancer world, however the others will give you an idea on how humans in other locations survived and have thrived. Or not. =)
