The Forest Chapter 1

A seemingly endless forest stood with towering trees and various monsters inhabiting, living off each other through the law of the jungle. Within the forest suddenly, a massive school which could hold thousands of students and faculty appeared in a random part of the jungle.
Within the school a classroom which didn’t stand out at all held about 20 students, there laid drake. He was about 5’8 feet tall with brown hair and brown eyes with a neither fat not skinny constitution. Drake was on the floor with blood flowing down his face from a cut on his head where it seems he got when the school appeared in the jungle.
“Ah, Damn this shit hurts, Rebecca.” Drake called out as he touched his wound on his head trying to assess the situation of the wound and what had happened. The woman that he called Rebecca didn’t seem to hear him as she looked out the window with her eyes glazed over with shock and fear.
Seeing that his previous call wasn’t effective Drake decided to get up and try to help himself, Drake new that within the teacher’s desk lied a medical pack which he can use to patch himself up, in fact all classrooms had one. When Drake walked past the students who are regaining consciences he glanced over to the windows where Rebecca stood looking out.
“What the fuck” Drake said softly and slowly as he came to a complete stop and looked out the window with a complicated expression. Outside the window lie a forest but that’s not the whole problem, the problem is that some people who belonged to the school were outside dead with green childlike creatures bashing in their brains with poorly designed clubs and knives.
Some of the green creatures finished killing and salvaging whatever they can from their bodies, like their backpacks or some of the hungry ones couldn’t wait to eat later and just started to feast on the bodies that lay there. Even more ganged up on some of the ones fighting back and ate them alive or dragged some females to do what none of us want to even imagine.

When we were busy watching the creatures, they got into the building apparently as there came blood curling screams which made all of us shiver. Snapping myself out of the fear and confusion I rushed over the students who either laid on the floor or some huddled up shaking and crying. I ran to the door, the only door which gives access to this room and we didn’t have to worry about the windows as we were on the 3rd floor out of 5 floors. Those small creatures wouldn’t be able to make up here and I was confused that nobody on any of the floors before us could put up a fight or delay them at all because they got here almost immediately.
Once I shut the door I locked it not knowing if they know how to work the door but not going to test my luck against it either. So, with the door locked I looked at my fellow students some I’m friends with as we talked during this year in chemistry class.
” Ok look, there are killer green small creatures who are coming to kill us and violate you. We need to stand together and fight them, any ideas?” I said to everyone huddled up crying and shaking with each blood curling scream or scratching sound which reverberated through the halls whenever their knives hit a metal surface.
As I finished giving my speech a couple of the guys in my class stood up and walked to me. Ben was the biggest of them a black 6-foot 3 man with muscles all over his body as he played for the school’s football team, I knew him because I played for the baseball team and I saw him at a couple of parties. His two friends where Carl a white 5-foot 10 man who also played football and Lee an Asian who stood at 6 feet 2.

Ben walked up to me and looked at me with a certain look in his eyes as he said, “I think I have an idea, but it’s going to be hard and I don’t know who would do it”.
“What’s the idea”? I asked with my eyes filling with questions as even though he was a jerk sometimes he usually was a good person.
“You see I watch anime and I know what those creatures are” Ben said as gasps from fellow students resounded and questions were about to fly out but before that he continued. “These creatures are Goblins and they are usually the weakest creatures in any fantasy world but from what I seen from the window I pray that’s wrong because just one is enough to take out an average adult”. Ben said this as he looked despondent at the chances of surviving this.
“So, I think we need to send someone, the fastest person out there to assess the situation and see what’s exactly happening and if possible lead back just one of those creatures so we can ambush it and make it talk and get some information”. Everyone in the classroom looked at me including Rebecca who no longer looked at the window in shock.
“Yeah, I thought him to as he’s one of the fastest guys in the school as fast as those track and field, but he’s injured, and we can’t send him out like that and I can’t go because I’m a linebacker I’m big not fast”. He said while looking at me nodding as if saying I got you bro, don’t worry.
“Does anybody volunteer, we really need this please and don’t worry I observed them a little they are not that fast even though you can’t out run them they can’t get you if you run full speed and not to mention we know this school, we know the shortcuts and ways to run away.” Despite his comforting words nobody stood up to volunteer, so an awkward pause and silence overtook the classroom before another blood curling scream broke the silence making everyone shake. The screams are moving closer and closer to this classroom.
“Fine, ill go. Just stay here and have the door ready for me just in case I need help”. Ben said as his hulking body moved to the door but before he got there to open the door and leave I stepped in his way and patted his shoulders as I gave him a look and a smile instead. “Don’t steal my heroics and my image of a hero so you can steal the hearts of these girls”. I joked half heartily as I stopped him from taking another step and pushed him back lightly with the same I got you bro look her gave me. Before he can say anything of protest I unlocked the door a sprinted out while shutting it behind me.
The wound on my head stopped bleeding but the sight of the gash on my head was barely covered by my hair which flowed like water on my head. I pulled off my shirt showing an average body with some fat on me, I put the shirt on my head wrapping it around my wound looking like I have a traditional wrap on my head. I tied it tightly as I walked closer to the sounds.
