《The Legend Of Drog》Chapter 6: Eating Dinner

When Drog was only three hundred meters away from the village, he stopped as he saw a figure approaching in his direction. His eyes focused on the figure. "Is that, Big Sister Ri?" He thought as he immediately identified her.
He could identify her from a distance because he had already stepped into the world of cultivation. If he was the previous Drog who didn't awaken his dantian, then he wouldn't be able to identify the fast approaching figure.
Drog frowned, "Master can others hear you when you talk?"
She replied after a half of a breath of time, "No, only the owner of this pendant can hear me." When her words fell, Big Sister Ri was now fifty meters away from Drog.
Drog nodded with relief, "That's good."
"I don't have to worry about others hearing Liu Ri. If this was not the case it might have been troublesome for me. After all, according to her, she was trapped into the pendant by some gods working together and I am sure that if by some chance those gods found out that I was trying to free her, they would most certainly dispose of me," he thought.
As Drog's thoughts concluded Big Sister Ri stopped in front of Drog but before she could say even a single word, Drog greeted her with a smile, "Hello, Big Sister Ri."
"Drog.. you…?" Surprise appeared on her face.
"What is it, Big Sister Ri?" He tilted his head in confusion.
"You didn't run away?" She said in a surprised voice.
"Why would I run away?" He asked in a confused voice.
She furrowed her eyebrows, "Go, Ro and No said that you ran away."
Drog shook his head, "I didn't run away, in fact, I was just returning back."
"Then why didn't you return together with them? And why did they tell me that you ran away?" She asked in a confused voice.
Drog shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know, you should ask them as to why they told you that I ran away, and as for why I returned alone, it was because they walked off without me. I am assuming that now that they got accepted into the sect and I didn't, they think themselves as elites and of me as trash."
"Why would they think of you as trash?" Big Sister Ri asked stunned by his earlier answer.
Drog shook his head, "Earlier in the village Go said so himself."
Big Sister Ri continued looking at Drog stunned. She looked at him for three breaths of time in silence. As she stared at Drog, he did the same – he looked at her without speaking. They both looked into each other's eyes without speaking.
"Let's go back, to the village." She broke the silence.
Drog nodded, "Yes, Big Sister Ri."
Liu Ri hearing the conversation between Big Sister Ri and Drog thought, "He really is not an average child. He didn't lie but he also didn't speak the truth." A corner of her lips rose, "He is just the kind of disciple I need," she thought.
"Drog now that you can't cultivate and now that, that path is closed of to you, you will have to find something else to do. You will have to find an occupation." Big Sister Ri said.

Drog turned his eyes to Big Sister Ri and frowned.
She noticed his frown. "Drog, I know how you feel but you can no longer be a cultivator; you have to find an occupation… I will now list a few jobs, just stop me once you hear something you like okay?"
His eyes didn't leave her as he thought, "You know how I feel? I strongly doubt that." He sneered inwardly, "I am an elite, I always stand at the top and the thought of you suggesting that I adapt and work as an average man… Ridiculous! The only place I deserve to stand is the top and nowhere else, I would rather die than live a life of mediocrity."
"The first profession is a farmer."
"…" Drog turned his head away from Big Sister Ri and looked at the road ahead without saying anything.
"A carpenter?"
"…"
"A baker?"
"…"
"A watchman?"
"…"
"An apothecary?"
"…"
"A herbalist?"
"…"
"A barber?"
"…"
She opened her mouth to say another profession but before she could, Drog said, "We have returned, Big Sister Ri."
Her mouth closed and she nodded, "Yes, we have returned. Before we go back home, tell me, did any of those professions caught your interest?"
"They didn't," Drog replied plainly.
Big Sister Ri sighed, "I understand, well I am sure that we can find something that you will like. Let's go back home and eat dinner."
"I really doubt that," he thought.
"Yes, Big Sister Ri. Let's go back and eat dinner together with Go, Ro and No." He said.
The woman nodded and together with Drog walked to the house. She put her hand on the door handle and pushed the door open. Inside the house, Drog saw the three familiar people: Go, Ro and No.
The three reacted to the opened door and looked towards it. They saw two people standing outside by the door and their eyes locked on to one of the two. They stared at Drog and Go's eyes radiated anger while the eyes of Ro and No were much more innocent and contained no anger in them.
They just looked at Drog as they looked at their friend who just came back. In reality, they both liked Drog but as their best friend and leader was Go – they both mimicked his actions and listened to his commands; showing hostility towards Drog even going as far as kicking him to death.
While Ro's and No's eyes showed no hostility, Go's eyes radiated anger. He was angry because Drog ignored his warning and came back.
Drog looked at Go. "I will make sure you will pay for looking down on me not only that I will also have to make you pay for beating me to death twice. But what can hurt you? Now that I am a cultivator I could easily beat you up but I feel like that would be too easy and it wouldn't make you realise the difference between us. No! I have to do something that will make you realise who I am and who you are. You have to realise the difference between an elite and a worm. And I already have an idea what to do. If I remember correctly, the elder from the sword sect will come to the village in a weeks time. That will be the time I strike," he thought and smirked inwardly.

"Are you surprised to see me, Go?" Drog asked with a smile.
"You really are stupid Drog!" Ro shouted out.
"That's right, didn't you hear what Big Brother had said to you?" Said No.
"Yes, like brother No had said, did you forget?" Ro said.
Drog looked at the two and shook his head inwardly. He saw these kinds of people many times before. The two reminded Drog of those servants that followed his father around all the time back on earth. These servants would always agree with their master and would always bark at anyone that their master had a problem with.
"Getting my revenge against these two would be pointless as they are only dogs that follow Go. Once I deal with Go and teach him the difference between us these two will stop barking on their own," he thought.
"Ro, No what are you talking about? What did Go say to Drog?" Big Sister Ri asked after hearing the words of the two children.
The two looked at Big Sister Ri, then they looked at each and other and both shook their heads, "He didn't say anything!" The two shouted out in unison.
Go looked at Drog and frowned, "Drog didn't tell Big Sister Ri that I threatened to kill him? If he didn't then I don't have to go out of my way to say it."
"I didn't say anything to you, right Drog?"
Drog shrugged his shoulders, "That's right, Go, didn't say anything to me."
Drog and Go exchanged glances before looking at Big Sister Ri. She furrowed her eyebrow, "Well if you both say so then I will believe you two." She stepped inside the house, "Come in Drog, let's go get dinner."
Drog nodded and followed Big Sister Ri into the house.
"Drog and Go go set the table, Ro get the dishes and No you can go sit and wait." Big Sister Ri fired out one command after the next.
"I want to help as well," No complained.
"Then go help, Ro," Big Sister Ri said.
"Alright, thank you Big Sister Ri."
No excitedly walked over to Ro and everyone did their respective task. After all the tasks were done all the children sat down at the table and they all waited for Big Sister Ri to finish making the dinner. After it was done she brought and placed the food on the table. "Dig in!" She said as she looked at the four children.
The dining table was full of voices, Ro and No talked between themselves. Go talk with Big Sister Ri and Drog ate in silence just by himself. Big Sister Ri tried bringing Drog into the conversation but he never joined in, he just ate in silence.
After having the dinner Big Sister Ri looked over all the children. "Go, Ro and No you can all go to sleep, I and Drog will clean up."
The three children nodded and they all walked to their beds and lied down.
After cleaning all the dishes and putting them back in their places, Big Sister Ri said, "Drog, shall we talk about occupations?"
Drog furrowed his eyebrows and an idea flashed in his head. "Big Sister Ri, can we talk about this after Go, Ro and No all left for the sword sect?" He said.
Big Sister Ri looked at Drog and thought, "This is the last week where they will see each other, I shouldn't take this time away from Drog. There will be plenty of time after they leave," She nodded, "I guess you are right. This is the last week you are going to see them. Alright, one week and after this one week you will have to decide what occupation you want to pursue."
Drog smiled and nodded, "Alright."
She smiled, "Alright, now go to sleep." She walked out of the building and Drog was left with three children sleeping in the room.
Drog stretched out and walked over to his bed. He lied down on it but before he could close his eyes a voice sounded in his head, "What are you doing?"
"Master?"
Drog heard a sigh, "I already told you, I hate repeating myself but I will ask you again, what are you doing?"
"Going to sleep," Drog stated.
"Cultivate."
"What about sleep?" Drog said,
"What about sleep," she said.
"I don't have to sleep?"
"You are now a cultivator. You don't sleep but cultivate."
"I understand, master."
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Since I am hiding a fact that I now have awakened my dantian it wouldn't be good if Big Sister Ri found me on my bed in my meditation position. I should find a place to cultivate where I won't be found," he thought.
Drog stoop up and walked outside and as he stepped outside, he was greeted with a full moon - hanging up in the clear sky. He looked up at the moon. "This is my first time seeing a moon in this world," he thought.
After looking at the moon for two breaths of time, he thought, "Well, no matter." Drog's eyes lowered and he walked out of the village.
...
Drog only stopped once he was quite a distance from the village. "This place should be fine." He thought as he inspected the surroundings with his eyes. He walked up to the nearby tree and sat down in a meditative position. Liu Ri nodded her head in acknowledgement - seeing her disciple sitting down to cultivate.
His eyes closed, "I feel out the energy in my surroundings. I grab hold of this energy and absorb it through my skin and guide it from my skin into my meridians and from my meridians into my dantian." He recalled the cultivation process that he was bestowed by his master.
Drog took a deep breath and focused himself, not even a breath of time passed and Drog already could feel the energy flowing through the air around him. Drog focused on one of these energy strands and it came towards his skin, from the skin he guided it through his meridians and finally into his dantian. The energy got absorbed into his dantian and Drog smiled. He using this same method cultivated through the entire night.
