Liam walked towards where he knew the other students were. It wasn't that long ago when they made camp in a nearby valley. Liam had been patrolling the area, when he heard that poor girl's cries for help. Liam clenched his fist and kept moving forward. As he walked towards the camp, he stewed. Was this how it was? Were the peasants always fodder for the nobles to trample over? A fire burned in Liam gut. If that was how it was... There was only one way to change things. He must get stronger. With power, he can protect his mother, his sister, and everyone he loves. With power, those rotten nobles won't dare to treat life as grass in front of his eyes.

It wasn't long before the tops of tents were visible on the horizon. Thousands of them huddled together like a little bit of civilization tucked into the vast wild of the Flirordian plains. Liam marched with determination towards the camp. He needed a shovel, and he had to find someone who might recognize her." Liam didn't know many people yet, he hadn't been there long. He shuffled through the camp and the squeezed his way through the chatting student to get to her tent, if you could call it that. Luckily it was easy to find, Liam shook his head. He always thought that girl was a little silly. She had told him her father was a merchant, so it shouldn't be any surprise when she liked to live in luxury...

Even still, Liam had a helpless look as he stared at the brick house that towered over the tents in the field. He shook his head and smiled. His mood did turn a little sour when he saw a bunch of male students crowding around her house. His forehead creased, but he took in a deep breath and calmed down. He shoved his way through the crowd and smiled smugly as he reached into his pocket. These people all clamored after her, but he had the key to her tent! uh house.

Regardless, He walked in, ignoring the boos and the begging of these thirsty fellows. He closed the door and locked it behind him. He was meet with silence. This house had two stories. The bottom consisted of a large kitchen. There were twelve tables with six seats for each. People could come here to rest and eat, especially those who had little to no other recourse. Lizzy liked to serve food to the new students, she had the foresight to bring plenty of food and even this deployable magical house. Thinking of her deeds and her big heart, Liam felt inexplicably proud. Although...

This silence made him uncomfortable. He could always find Lizzy here, busy and slaving away on the magistoves. Even if she wasn't working, she would greet him with a smile. The more he thought of how hurt she was when he first meet her, the angrier he became. She had even let him borrow a room in her house. He had to reluctantly agree, although it wasn't proper for them to stay under the same roof. There should be some degree of separation between men and women shouldn't there? Liam let out a goofy smile at that thought. This girl was daft, but good-hearted.

He silently wondered where she had run off to as he made his way upstairs. He would just stay in his bedroom and wait for her to come home. Liam's ears tinged red at the thought. His train of though soon got uprooted. For every step up he took, the sound of arguing got louder and louder. Liam frowned, and his eyebrows tightened. The noises were coming from Lizzy's room. He slowly got closer in order to hear what was being said.

A cold, authoritative, yet young voice sounded out,

"Are you deliberately trying to embarrass father?"[mystery girl] Lizzy's soft and shallow voice sounded back in response,

"I I I I"m not, I want to live with the people. I want to suffer along with them and earn my spot along with them."[Lizzy]

"What nonsense are you trying to say,"[mystery girl] The cold voice shot back, "You'll never be one of them, no matter what you do or what you feel, you will always be privileged. You will always sit higher than them because you were born higher than them. They will never accept you. The have-nots despise the haves."[mystery girl]

Sister! That's not true! I have already made hundreds of friends. They come here everyday!"[Lizzy]

"Because you give them things?"[mystery girl]

"Quit making them sound so mean! You always say the peasants don't know! You always say the peasants are prejudiced! How are you any better than what you call them?"[Lizzy] There was a long pause before the cold voice sounded again. Her voice was soft so Liam had to put his ear up to the door.

The voice sounded like a concerned mother speaking to a child,

"Lizzy, all people are bad. There isn't a good man or woman on the face of this earth. Every one of them move for their own benefits, you give them things, so they act kindly. It's the same behavior of nobles that you claim to hate, just in a poorer package. Being pitiful does not a good person make."[mystery girl]

"Lies! I can see the difference, if you would come with me, you'd see it to. All those people who call themselves 'noble' are anything but. They are all slimy schemers. These people have pure smiles and pure hearts, but I guess you wouldn't know about that."[Lizzy]

"Do you think they would feel the same way if they knew where you came from?"[mystery girl]

"A daughter does not carry the father's sins." [Lizzy]There was silence, and then the crisp sound of a slap echoed through the walls.

"You don't know the first thing about your father, do you?"[mystery girl] The sound of soft crying could be heard, Liam was at his wits end. he didn't know what to do. Should he go in and help Lizz? But... that was her sister... wasn't that a family matter? Liam nodded his head. If she asked for help, he would certainly give it. Until then, or until she’s in danger, he'll take a step back.

Although she was tearful, Lizzy's voice sounded out again.

"I know that you love him more than your own sister. I know a man far better than him. More noble, pure, and righteous than anyone that calls themselves by the title of 'Noble.' You know how I met him? The first thing he ever did was save me. He's a peasant, and he was the kindness to do what nobles only boast about."[Lizzy]

Liam's heart jumped into his throat. He was so happy, although his name wasn't said, he knew that he was being praised.

"Ok,"[mystery girl] the cold voice sounded out,"I'll prove it to you. If you tell him the truth, and he doesn't hate, berate, or leave you, then I'll leave you alone to do your little play-acting. I won't bother you ever again, that's what you've always wanted, right? On the other hand, If I win, you have to be a good disciplined daughter and listen to your sister. Since you're so confidant, this shouldn't be a hard bet to take."[mystery girl]

Then there was silence. It lasted for minutes before a low laugh echoed through the building,

"So, you don't even trust the heart of the man you admire the most. Better than the nobles, indeed."[mystery girl] Following that, there was only silence. Liam didn't know what kind of truth Lizzy's sister was talking about, but it hurt him that she didn't trust him enough to say anything. His heart felt like it had been chopped on the cutting board.

'No, I can't let her bully Lizzy anymore.' Liam walked into the room and saw, Lizzy sitting on her bed in a plain white dress, standing before her was a girl of slightly shorter stature, only coming up to Liam's shoulder. She had long, straight, black hair and was dressed in a black battle dress. Focus more on the 'battle' and less on the 'dress.' It was a long black gambeson ornately decorated with pink flowers. Upon hearing the door open, they both looked at the doorway. Lizzy's eyes were colored with confusion and embarrassment. Her sister's pink eyes were hard to read. Although, she was looking at Liam. Just by looking at her eyes, it was hard to tell whether she was looking at Liam or a wall.

"I would never abandon Lizzy because of her parents." [Liam]Lizzy's sister showed some shock in her eyes, but it was almost indiscernible and passed quickly.

"You're her noble, pure, and righteous man my sister was talking about?"[mystery girl] Admitting to this was embarrassing, but it had to be done!

"Yes."[Liam]

"Fool."[mystery girl]
