“So you are telling me that you saw a deva alive and he met a human being someone from the central pillar?” Liu Feng asked.

“Yes that is exactly what I saw, and why are you so curious regarding the devas?” James asked back.

“I was just curious.” Liu Feng replied with a straight face knowing he almost gave himself away.

“Anyways it is not safe to talk here follow me I have a place further in which I use to rest. I have to come out and kill this beast every day so that they will not flood the place I am staying at.” James spoke as he got up and started walking further into the passage.

Liu Feng got up and followed James, “Ummm if you don’t mind could I take the heads of the beast you killed since I need them for points for the scholarship.”

James turned around and looked at Liu Feng with a perplexed expression, “You still want to participate in the scholarship? I wanted you to follow me along back to my planet. Actually, now that I think about it, you will not be safe in my planet either. Since some of my race will not accept you as our kind. So it is best if you stay on earth, and yes yes you can take the heads, I don’t have any use for them either way.”

“Thank you so much!” Liu Feng said with a grateful expression.

As they continued walking through the carnage caused by James, the tunnel started to get wider and taller as well relieving Liu Feng of the feeling of being constricted.

“Right around the corner is where I have set up camp”

As they reached the corner Liu Feng saw a hole in the wall of the labyrinth covered with rocks, with James moving the debris out of the way. Liu Feng was greeted with a small cave spacious enough for 4 people.

There was a campfire set up in the center with pots and utensils scattered near to it. There was a crude makeshift sleeping area to the left of the cave, with dumbbells in the back of the cave. “Don’t be surprised seeing my dumbbells, the back of the cave is my training area, and to the left is my sleeping quarters, and right here is, my kitchen and my dining hall,” James said with a huge smile plastered on his face pointing at the campfire which was not lit up.

“Why do you have dumbbells with you, never mind forget I asked that. Anyways I don’t think that can be considered a sleeping quarter at all. Here use this instead.” Liu Feng took out a sleeping bag from his ring and gave it to James.

“Oh my, a sleeping bag thank god. I had to leave mine when I ran away. Finally, I can sleep properly with comfort” James started rubbing the sleeping back on his face, he ran to the left and took apart the sleeping area and kept it in his ring. Placing the sleeping bag on the ground he immediately went into it rolling left and right.

“Oops, where are my manners do you have a sleeping bag of your own?” James asked hoping Liu Feng would say yes as he did not want to give back the sleeping bag.

“Don’t worry I have my own” Liu Feng said as he took out the sleeping bag and place it to the right of the room, before heading to the campfire and lighting it up.

“I’ll be making dinner, you can eat human food right?” Liu Feng asked.

“Like duh, obviously we asuras can eat human food what you expected our diet to consist of human meat or something?” James asked back slightly annoyed.

“No No nothing like that just asked out of curiosity”

After 10mins Liu Feng cooked up two portions of ramen with roasted chicken. “Come let’s eat”

“Damn this is some good chicken almost as good as the roast chicken my sister make back home,” James said as he munched the chicken.

“There are chickens in the asura planet?”

“Yup our planet is very similar to your planet in more ways than you know.”

“So from out I can see you are at Qi refinement 1, you are not that far from the foundation establishment stage. What cultivation art are you using now?” James asked.

“I am using the advanced asura cultivation art which I bought for cheap at a store, saying I wanted it for collection. Since I could not allow people to find out what I really am.” Liu Feng replied.

“Hmm, so how long did you say the scholarship exam was again?”

“The exam lasts for one month.”

“Right right so I am assuming it takes 2-5 days for you to break through to the next layer?” James questioned.

“Yup it does take me 3 days to break through a layer how did you know?”

“Your body is technically half asura and since we take 2-5 days to break through as well during the Qi realms, I assumed you would take the same amount of time. So why don’t you just stay here for a month and cultivate till you break into the foundation establishment realm.”

“Really you would let me stay here and train?” Liu Feng asked.

“Not for free though, all I need you to do in return is once the exam ends you immediately tell someone you saw an asura, but you give them the opposite direction which I am going to. That way it will allow me to escape into the chaos zone and then I can head back to my planet.” James said with an expectation on his face waiting for Liu Feng’s answer.

After thinking for a while and weighing the pros and the cons, Liu Feng agreed.

“But what is the chaos zone?” Liu Feng asked not, hearing that term before.

“The area after the wildlands are called the chaos zone and this labyrinth is connected to the chaos zone. This area is filled with demonic beasts.” James shuddered as he thought about it.

“Demonic beasts? Oh, and I have been meaning to ask what is your cultivation level at? I cannot see it.”

“My cultivation level is at Breath transmutation 4, oh wait you would not know, okay wait let me explain to you. First would be Qi gathering and Qi condensation followed by Qi refinement, which is the realm you are currently are at. After this would be foundation establishment where you will create a Qi sea below you three dantians, following that would be Essence transmutation where you will have to merge your first dantian into your Qi sea. So far so clear?” James looked up to Liu Feng to see whether he understood.

Liu Feng nodded his head “please continue”.

“Okay after that would be Breath transmutation, where you will combine your second dantian into the Qi sea this is the realm which I am at. And lastly would be Spirit establishment where you will merge the third and final dantian into your Qi sea. Do you understand?”

“Yes I understand but what comes after Spirit establishment?” Liu Feng asked filled with curiosity.

“That is where demonic beast come in they are at a realm above the establishment and transmutation realms. After the Spirit establishment realm is where you will need to compress your Qi sea into a core, that is when you will be in the Core formation realm. The realms after that I know nothing about it, I just know that there are realms after that as cultivation is a never-ending path. Enough of the lessons.” James said as he went back to his sleeping bag.

“Thank you for the information, and I have another request while I stay in your cave to train, you will have to go out and kill the beast right? Can you help me collect their heads for me as I need it for the points.” Liu Feng asked

“Do not push it, Liu Feng, I am not your errand boy.” James snarled.

“I will cook all our meals for the next month!” Liu Feng said immediately

“Okay deal no take-backs. You cook the meals and I will bring back the heads.” James said as he rubbed his stomach and smiled.

Liu Feng headed to his sleeping back to get some shut-eye.

“Can I use your training area also?”

“Yup sure sure just remember not to damage my dumbbells as they are my precious babies,” James said as he tucked himself in the sleeping bag.

“I am camping out in the labyrinths with an Asura who would have thought.” Liu Feng thought to himself as he went to sleep.

The next day Liu Feng got up at 6am surprised to see James still asleep and snoring loudly. He started making breakfast which was a sandwich since he brought bread in his ring, “Hey wake up I made sandwiches for you.” Liu Feng said as he tapped James’s shoulder.

“Huh what enemy attack where?” James jumped out of his sleeping bag in a battle stance.

“Oh sandwiches okay okay next time wake me up a bit gentler I get startled easy, let me brush my teeth and we’ll eat.” James took out a toothbrush and toothpaste and started brushing.

“This is not how I thought you asuras will be like you seem almost like us, not anything like how we were taught.” Liu Feng said laughing.

“What do you mean you were taught about us? What did they tell you about us?” James asked as he sat down and started eating the sandwiches.

“Here let me show you the video they showed us when I first when to high school. I should have it downloaded on my phone.” Liu Feng took out his phone and searched for the video about the asuras.

James took the phone from Liu Feng and started watching the video. “This is what they told you about us? Well, I’ll be damned. We did not just attack the humans who entered our planet immediately, that crew that we attacked the one which was life streamed was maybe the 5th crew that entered our planet. Let me tell you what really happened.” James said as he wiped his mouth, bread crumbs dropping on the floor.

“See when the first crew of humans entered our planet we were shocked but we were not that bloodthirsty to kill strangers immediately. We welcomed them and gave them a place to stay before we started to communicate, though it was difficult since we had different languages. Eventually, we started communicating and exchanged information about our cultures, then at the village which was hosting the humans we noticed that asura children were going missing.”

James started drinking a cup of orange juice which Liu Feng had prepared.

“Okay so where was I ah, then we started investigating the disappearance of the children and found the children dissected and experimented within the human’s ship. When we confronted them they said that they wanted to know about us and that it was normal.” Rage was seen in James’s face.

“Dissecting children and experimenting on them was considered normal? So we killed every single one of them eventually they sent a few more ships but we killed every single one of them as soon as they left their ships. And from the video, you showed me it seems that is the 5th crew they sent. Not the first like what the video says, they have been lying to all of you.” James said with his fist clenched

“The pillar made up lies? For what purpose? And those sick bastards actually experimented on children? Damn now I know why you all waged war on us.” Liu Feng said sick of the cruelty.

“Those things happened in the past, no use worrying about them. Right now the main issue is that the devas are alive and are colluding with humanity for god knows what reasons. Anyways I noticed yesterday that there was something wrong with you, take off your clothes.” James told Liu Feng.

Liu Feng panicked thinking that James figured out he was half deva. “Take off my clothes? I don’t swing that way.”

“What the f**k are you talking about even I don’t swing that way. Take off your top, I noticed that though your cultivation is at Qi refinement 1 your body cannot contain the cultivation. It seems you have been neglecting training your body.” James said with a look of disgust.

“Oh, so that’s what you meant” Liu Feng took off his top.

“See your muscles are weaker than an infant asura. Though you are part human don’t forget that you are part asura and we asuras cultivate our body as well if not with the speed of our cultivation, our body will not be able to handle it and we will die.”

“Wait you mean I might have died if I had continued cultivating?” Liu Feng asked with fear on his face.

“Obviously you would have died, imagine a glass cup which is under a lot of pressure from the inside. You will literally blow up as your body is not strong enough. No worries though I have with me the . You are supposed to master this till the gold stage before breaking into the foundation establishment stage if not you will blow up, this is given to every child asura, here take it. In this month you will have to master the asura body cultivation art fully and break into the foundation establishment stage.” James said as he gave a jade slip to Liu Feng.

Placing the Jade slip on his head Liu Feng absorbed the Asura body cultivation art into his mind.

“So this is why you have weights with you. Cultivation is making sure the outer body, the inner body, and the mind be in harmony if anyone of this is out of sync it will lead to disaster make sense. So in the establishment and the transmutation realms is there body cultivation?” Liu Feng asked, grateful to receive help from James.

“No there isn’t anybody cultivation after the Qi realms but never neglect body training even at the higher realms always remember to train your body for at least 2hrs a day. Okay let's not waste any time I will guide you for the first day and after that, you will do it by yourself.” James said as he walked to the training area, before taking out more dumbbells of different weights from his ring and placing it on the ground.

“Thank you for the body cultivation art, I will need your assistance today.” Liu Feng bowed to James

“Ah no need for all that, I am just helping one of my kind. Actually half of my kind haha.” James laughed picking up the dumbbell and throwing it to Liu Feng.
