Labyrinth
In an open area, Liu Feng saw students from each of the high school forming groups with their respective clicks from their respective schools. A few students from west high school invited him to join their group since he was from their school.
Liu Feng ignored all their invitation since he wanted to cultivate and no one could find out how fast he cultivated.
Walking further in past all the students there was an open area with 20 passages in a circular area, all the students were in the center trying to figure out which way to go.
“These passages seemed to be dug through quite long ago it does not seem to be part of the original subway structure.” Liu Feng thought to himself.
“Which passage am I supposed to take?” Liu Feng looked at the 20 different passages trying to figure out which passage he could take.
Suddenly there was a commotion happening in between the students.
“Who the f**k do you think you are to boss us around now?” A student with a crew cut in an east high school uniform shouted at a student with a bowl cut also from east high school.
“Oh, so you think that just because we are away from school it makes you think you are not under me?” The student with the bowl cut spoke sinisterly back.
“I am done being under you, despite us having the same level of cultivation you think you can ARGH!!! My chest why..di..” the student with the crew cut had a giant hole in his chest with the hand of the student with the bowl cut pierced through it.
“Blah blah, all you idiots only know how to talk, since this asshole thought he grew some balls to confront me! Let this be a lesson to all you vermin that I rule you all whether it is inside of the school or outside.” The kid with the bowl cut took out the heart from the student and crushed it.
As the body of the crew cut student dropped to the ground lifeless, the other student from east high school shivered in fear.
Liu Feng checked the cultivation level of the bowl cut student and was surprised that it was at Qi condensation 8. Since he himself was able to train faster since he was not human. “How is this guy’s cultivation so high despite us being the same age” Liu Feng was perplexed.
“Okay listen carefully all you bit***s from east high all of you will be entering passage number 4 and I will be behind all of you all. You guys will be my meat shield, if any of you think otherwise you will be lying here like this f**ker.” The crew cut student said with a sneer as he kicked the dead student on the ground.
After this incident, almost all the students from east high went into passage 4. Followed by the rest of the students which each formed their own groups and went to each one of the passages. Liu Feng even saw Yin Yi the arrogant girl with her guard in the wildlands, turns out she was a student from North high school.
Soon enough Liu Feng was all alone observing all the 20 passages one by one trying to determine which way the Asura might have gone.

“This is red Qi!” Liu Feng exclaimed as he saw a very faint amount of red Qi going into passage 16 leaving a trail.
“Nice with this I will be able to track the Asura and I might be able to get answers for my change in temperament and my lust for killing,” Liu Feng thought.
He headed into passage 16 following the trail of red Qi. Soon he came across a room which split into another 10 passages with a bunch of students there deciding which way to go. Liu Feng ignored all of them and continued following the trail of red Qi which went into the 6th passage this time.
After following the trail for about 20 mins he noticed that the red Qi was not that faint anymore meaning that he was getting closer to the Asura.
Liu Feng came across another room which split the passages into 5 and the red Qi went into the 3rd passage, but Liu Feng halted his steps before he entered the third passage.
“The smell of blood is so strong what is this?” Liu Feng could smell the stench of death and blood coming from the third passage. Contemplating whether to enter or not Liu Feng decided to go with his gut feeling and enter the 3rd passage.
Walking into the 3rd passage all forms of light were cut of. As the previous tunnels had lights as since they were already explored in previous expeditions organized by the central pillar. The fact there were no lights here means that this passage was not explored, thus beasts and whatnot might start showing up now.
Liu Feng took out his torchlight and switched it on to the dim mode as he did want it to be too bright which might attract attention instead.
“Damn this passage is long, where the hell is the asura.” Liu Feng thought as he kept following the red Qi.
*Splash*
“What the hell!” Liu Feng looked down at the puddle he stepped thinking why water would be here. “This is blood. Holy shit!” Liu Feng panicked as he shines his torchlight further down the tunnel.
As he saw there was wild beast everywhere but they were all dead their body parts and their guts scattered everywhere. It was a scene from hell itself, the further Liu Feng walked the scene of carnage got worst and worst.
“This is horrible what the hell could have done this? The asura!” Liu Feng thought to himself as he covered his nose with a cloth which he tied around like a mask.
Walking past all this dead beast, Liu Feng did not forget to scavenge any heads he could find even if it was partially intact he still put it all into his ring as they were still points.
The river of blood extended for got knows how long. Liu Feng kept looking at his watch trying to keep track of how long he had walked. And based on the time being 10pm he had already walked for 5hrs. He was tired and his jeans and shoes were soaked in blood, but on the plus side, he did accumulate a lot of points with all the heads he was collecting.
His watched now showed 12am and the red Qi was getting thicker and thicker.

*Slash*
“ARGGHHH!!!!”
*Shiu*
*DIE DIE DIE!!!”
“Is that someone fighting?” Liu Feng slowed down his speed and used the cloak of the night to hide his presence and started walking towards the sound of the combat.
A man drenched in blood with one horn at the center of his forehead which grew in the upward direction.
“That is the asura!” Liu Feng exclaimed inwardly. This was the first time Liu Feng has seen an asura up close. “This guy only has one horn but my mother had two.” Liu Feng thought.
The man was cutting through waves and waves of the beast. Liu Feng checked the cultivation level of the beasts, the man was killing and was shocked to see that they were all at Qi refinement 9.
“How strong must the asura be, dammit how am I supposed to ask him anything if he is stronger than me. Let’s see what his cultivation level is.” Liu Feng thought as he checked the cultivation level of the Asura but was shocked to see that he could not determine what level of cultivation the asura had.
Suddenly the asura turned around and stared directly at Liu Feng despite the darkness Liu Feng could see that the asura was staring at him.
*Phew*
“Arghhh! Don’t..I.. ack…am…ack….of no harm..ack” Liu Feng tried to speak as he was being choked by the asura.
The asura jumped towards Liu Feng in combat and started strangling him.
“Weird…you look human but you smell of my kind what are you!” The asura screamed at Liu Feng as he threw him into the wall.
“Ack…Cough cough…I woke up in a lab somewhere and I escaped from it. Based on my memories the human beings tested on me, I am half human and half asura. Please I am looking for you because I need an answer please.” Liu Feng begged the asura.
“You don’t seem to be lying because you smell like my kind and something else. Heal up. Let me go and kill those beasts before you tell me everything.
“Phew, luckily I was able to think of something fast, if I had said I was half deva and half asura he would have killed me based on my memories and the books I read about the asuras and devas being mortal enemies.” Liu Feng thought to himself as he ate a blood clotting pill.
The Asura did quick work of the remaining beasts. And started walking towards Liu Feng, as he took out a lamp from his ring and place it in front of Liu Feng.
With the light Liu Feng was able to see the asura clearly, the asura had long black hair with a single horn from his forehead, there were countless of scars all over his bare chest and back. He was wearing some type of combat pants, he also and yellow irises which made him look even scarier.
“So those sick bastards called humanity started experimenting on their own kind itself. Now tell me everything especially how you know I was here and whatnot.” The asura asked Liu Feng.
“My name is Liu Feng and I found an order from one of my enemies which I killed thus during the exam I was one of the students who entered the labyrinth and I started finding you. I don’t know how but I could smell you.” Liu Feng lied mixing truths with lies as he gave the order to the asura to see.
“Yup our kind can indeed smell one another despite being a mixed breed your sense of smell is good. So the pillar decided to send kids into the labyrinth under the pretense of an exam to lure me out? Sick f**kers to do that to their own young ones. So explain to me how did you escape from the lab and how have you been living in humanity all along?” The asura asked keeping the order aside after inspecting it and sitting down in front of Liu Feng.
Liu Feng then began narrating his entire life except for certain parts like the necklace, memories, and the fact that he is a half deva. Liu Feng just made up lies about 'the escaping from the lab part' saying he escaped from a lab in the east district and entered the west district as an orphan.
“Despite being half of my kind I feel sorry for you. My name is James, you said you were seeking me out for my help. What is it that you need my help with?” James asked Liu Feng sincerely without any malice.
“Umm, I realized recently when I kill my enemies be it beast or human beings I start to enjoy killing and it affects my mind. I am not too sure how” Liu Feng asked before he was cut off by James.
“It is called blood lust,” James said.
“The what now?” Liu Feng asked confused.
“Blood lust is something we asuras suffer from the more we kill the more we enjoy it. But don’t worry it only has an effect in the Qi realm. Once you break through to the foundation establishment realm you will not have blood lust.” James explained to Liu Feng.
“Ohh so that it was how it is. WAIT A MINUTE! How the hell are we conversing in English?”
“Ha Ha Ha!!! You just realized now that I was speaking in English. Ha Ha! I can speak English because I have learned it since it is the common language spoken on your planet.” James replied laughing hysterically.
“Ohhh. But what are you doing here anyway? I thought the invasion was over?” Liu Feng asked slightly embarrassed.
“This…I don’t think I should tell you. AH f**k it. You are technically half of my kind so I will tell you. I was sent here on a recon mission from my planet, to investigate why the humans are colluding with the devas.” James said with a solemn expression.
“HUH! The devas still exist I thought they went extinct millions of years ago?” Liu Feng asked filled with confusion
“Yes, that is what we thought until we found traces of their existence in their supposedly barren and destroyed planet. Following this trail, I came to Earth your planet where I saw a deva meeting with the 7th central commandment. Eventually, they saw me and I had to run here into the labyrinth to escape.” James said as he rubbed his chin.

Bloodlines
Bloodlines is the first major story set in the far larger and immensely connected universe known as Infinitum. A group of renegades and misfits take into the sky in their fancy skyship to fulfill the prophecy they don't care about and defeat the Empire they care even less about. In the process, they learn things (they would rather not) of the fucked up Universe, dead gods, and the future that holds no mercy. Bloodlines draws inspiration from One Piece. But in the bigger picture, Bloodlines is one of many stories set in Cosmere-like universe where plots stretch beyond planets and star systems and stakes are higher than godhood (like in Malazan chronicles). Currently, I am planning to finish the first arc [Bandit Arc], add 10k words interlude with some revelations, then publish a story happening elsewhere. Then I will be back to write the second arc. For now, the Fifth Region has 8 arcs planned. Officially, there are 5 regions. The Fifth Region is not the shortest but is far from the longest regions. - PS. Pay attention to flavor text. Chapters published weekly.
