《Nekana, One in Billions, Lost.》Chapter 16 - Messed Up

Nekana found joy in admiring animals; be it aquatic or on land. Pet shops however, she had mixed feelings. Puppy mills existed so she would have a complexed face as she admired the fluffy little glass caged creatures.
And as for Aquatic pet shops, her complications weren’t all that heavy. There was one of such nearby her house at a walkable distance and whenever she went, the aquatic pet store was the first on her check out list. (It located in a mall)
She enjoyed the sight of red-eared sliders in their tanks. The way they swam with their stoic faces, Nekana found them adorable. She would then try to have a telepathic conversation with the little creatures but would fail with no end.
The girl herself knew that it was unavoidable as tortoises couldn’t speak in words as much as speak telepathically but the brunette was a hopeless case and still attempted it despite the odds anyways. She was an open minded person, so why not?
After such a stop, the brunette would resume in her usual business that did not consist in telepathy or eating. She would talk to herself.
Talking to oneself was a brief explanation as it somehow meant in all kinds of forms. Take example the influence of her daily surroundings which consisted in light novels, as well as the web one. The manga(s) she’s read and even the books she’d bought in bookstores.
Firstly, the self-introduction; okay, that sounded ridiculous but it was true. Nekana would come at it in all randomness and introduce herself be it as awkward as it sounded but she found it fine. No one was present to judge anyways.
She would speak her name, what she was doing at the current but she never did introduce her appearance as it was hers and there was just no need to. A light step wrongly in the majority of self-introductions.

And in all secondly, the brunette would dive into her own world with no hesitation. Her world consisted on the nonexistent, the impossible, shallow sorrows, and the greatest joys. Throughout her entire life, it can only be depicted as ordinary. It had already been said and no changes were made. Nothing progressed, digressed. All and will ever be the absolute same.
So simply going, and it showed no apparent signs in stopping. That was how it felt, but Nekana was no prophet and she knew that although her life was simple and normal, it was something to be very grateful for.
Unfortunate accidents existed. Whereupon anyone could be enjoying the bliss the earth could provide or the hell that showered upon, anything can happen. Life was short for some as time would pass devastatingly quickly, and such ‘time’ would never be enough. Through there, the point of longevity existed. The brunette found this very… strange. The strangeness of it represented through the mere want of a longer life, an everlasting life. All Nekana knew was why they ‘might’ve’ wanted such occurrences but the brunette never understood the need for that matter. It was a brief and fleeting feeling. Neutral all the same. She didn’t understand, nor did she want to. The question of ‘why?’ remained afloat but not at the uppermost nor innermost of her mind.
The brunette leaned more towards the kind of time that enjoyed the patience of others in a frustrating matter. Her ideals lied not in time; that was for sure. Still, the topic never ceased to intrigue her. The human minds, and all its interpretations based on this concept called ‘time’.
On the slower side of the said topic, all there may have been the misery and undesirable of ones current actions. This was the general image Nekana held in mind. Well, nonetheless if proved otherwise, her mind set was easy to change towards such things. Back on topic, the brunette once again ceased to understand; the feelings of the need of time to go faster. To end.

She had shallow experiences, an example of doing something she disliked, time slowed. As much as the painful of what one could already be afflicted. And as Nekana be Nekana she pondered. With the bravery to imagine the possibilities of such circumstances but far too afraid to experience it, and to realize the reality of an outcome. All this, she did, and don’t. It based on both the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’; each with a point of view only known, perhaps understood by those that knew.
Will such moments as complex as the twist and warped flow of things arrive at the brunette’s doorstep. She was but touching onto one of such topics.
Perhaps she understood their feelings, their as in those she would not meet but shared the same mind-sets as hers but not experiences; it led in only tiny similarities. Ah, everything was just so messed up. To the point her mind’s inner arrangement of thought were on the verge of malfunctioning. So detestably warped, so terrifyingly deep, so brutally alluring.
She understood the pauses of time actually, but the memories only meant but laughs to her now.
