《The Inheritor》Ch 13 Roommates

Quinn had nothing to do after reading through all the data. Thus he slumped into sleep a couple of hours.
When Quinn got down, he says 3 kids were rowdily fighting. After enjoying the show for some time, Quinn shouted. They were getting a bit out of hand any moment one of them might manhandle the other kid.
"ALL OF YOU SHUT UP!!!"
Immediately they all stopped and moved a few steps back. Quinn was finally able to get a clear look at them.
One was a very lean kid with sickly pale skin, next was a shy cute fat bun with chubby cheeks, while the last kid was brown-skinned and buff muscles.
While Quinn was observing them, the kids were also scrutinising Quinn. They were admiring the guy with every potential to grow into a perfect lady-killer.
Then they had a quick introduction with Quinn.
The tall one was Kallis; the rice ball like fatty was Lardo; the short black fellow was Boris. After learning the reason for their fight, Quinn felt like crying.
They were actually fighting for the rooms. Quinn sighed and thought 'It's very childish, whatever they are only small kids.'
"Hey, guys I will give you my room so don't fight it's just a room."
But Quinn got an unexpected reaction for his generosity, Kallis sneered while Boris giggled and strangely Lardo just made a poker face.
"Quinn, don't you know that you can't exchange your room once you selected it," Lardo asked him, Quinn really didn't know that there were such rules.
"Quinn, sorry to say this man, even if the rooms could be exchanged no one would ever want your room." Boris acted like a wise scholar.
"Hey, we are fighting for the front rooms, not the ones on the back," Kallis added.

"Why would you want the front rooms over the room in the back, wouldn't you get a better view from the back?"
Quinn thought these kids were really idiots and even considered changing his dorm. The three felt that Quinn was really a country bumpkin and showed a slight disdain unintentionally. Though Quinn didn't bother himself with little kids.
"Quinn, do you really not know that we will stay in the same room for 15 whole years? Do you plan on becoming a monk or something?"
Boris asked Quinn, Lardo and Kallis looked suspiciously at Quinn.
"What it takes 15 years to graduate, and we must live in the same room?" Quinn mumbled in surprise, but he still didn't understand what was going on.
"How is staying for 15 years in the same room and becoming a monk connected in any way?" Now Quinn was even more confused. Others were dumbfounded, and Kallis was the first to recover.
"Quinn in the school dormitory alternative columns are allotted for boys and girls Column 'A' is for boys and Column' B' is for girls and so on. We are the unluckiest to get stuck with the first row.
If it were any other row except the first one, we would be surrounded by girls on either side, and none of us needs to fight over these rooms. Do you understand now, man you really something to come to school even without doing this much basic research?" Kallis explained to him and grinned.
It was Quinn's turn to be shocked at their stupidity, Quinn felt like punching the grin out of their face. He cursed their parents for teaching so much bullsh*t, 'Why are they telling such idiotic and crappy things their kids.'
Quinn might have had a lacklustre romantic life, but he wasn't totally ignorant like these kids. After giving some thought, Quinn felt it was alright for them to be a bit stupid and came up with an idea to prevent them from fighting again.

He just thought them stone-paper-scissors; Boris was an unlucky guy who got the other back-room. He tried to get a rematch only to be ruthlessly rejected by the other three.
Quinn started to mingle with these kids and tried to behave like a small kid. Quinn decided to live like a little kid as he wanted to experience everything he missed in his previous life.
Before going to bed, Quinn had a short discussion with his new friends and got to know about each other.
Kallis was from Lotus Diving city of Ghist country; Kallis was born with a silver spoon; his family runs their country largest textile industry.
Lardo was from Hattrom city of Zeyat country; Lardo told that his family runs a large inn in Hattorm city.
Boris came from Illyas city in Yarland the country as Quinn. Boris was from an average family; his parents are just ordinary mercenaries.
From Boris Quinn found were Ronadak and Yarland were thousands of miles apart. Ronadak was in the centre of Unigux while Yarland was in the southern corner of the continent.
When he learned this, he was slightly disheartened as he felt very distant from his parents. Though he really wanted to move out from his house to explore more about cultivation, it didn't mean his love for them had lessened.
Thus he had a very long chat with his mother and narrated everything that transpired so far, excluding his grandpa's little adventure and his friends' childish fight. His mother listened patiently, and she told him to enjoy his school days.
Next morning after a good bath and a decent breakfast made by the butler, they were all got ready to go to school. The school uniform set was a spirit dress; a product made by a cultivator.
Though this wasn't Quinn's first spirit dress, it's the most comfortable one he has ever worn. Quinn was still not aware of the fees his parents paid to get him into the school. But he was sure that it would be exorbitantly high so he felt slightly pressured.
They were supposed to attend first assemble in the lakeshore at the end of the dormitory. Everyone was rushing to the shore; no one wants to be late for the very first session.
Every student in the dormitory was heading to the shore. Even though thousands of students were moving at the same time, everyone was travelling in an orderly fashion.
Thus their journey was pleasant and fun, instead of being chaotic like a market. Quinn’s yet to figure out how they achieved such level discipline despite being little kids.
Then he observed the serious faces, and it was funny to see them moving silently and with a hint of anxiety. They were all looking like small genius scientists who were going to take some hard test.

I, Mor-eldal: The Necromancer Thief
As a budding little necromancer, I soon discovered that the world of city people is complicated. When my master kicked me out of the cave, he warned me not to talk about my “dark” magic, because people here don't like the undead. I am not really an undead, I just have a skeleton hand, but it is better to be careful. Anyway, that's not my biggest worry. In the Black Dagger brotherhood, I learn a lot of things, such as illusionist magic, which turns out to be quite handy to survive in this maze of streets: in the Cat Quarter, we have thugs of all kinds that are best avoided. But we also have good people, goodhearted “gwaks”, as we say around here. Little did I know that I would soon be caught up in an infamous traffic that would entangle my life even more. With a mix of lighthearted adventure and picaresque, this story narrates the hectic life of a good-spirited street child and his companions in a medieval urban fantasy setting with some nineteenth-century influences. Updates Mondays and Fridays. This is a Creative Commons By work. It is a translation of a trilogy I wrote in Spanish between 2017 and 2018.
