《The Inheritor》CH 12 Dormitory

After fixing a breakfast for both of them Blake took his grandson to garage; where a very old and dirty hovercar was housed. Quinn was astonished to see such a car is such poor condition; everyone in this world will have at least one android for the manual works.
Quinn didn't find any android in Blake's house, so he assumed that Blake was a bit old-fashioned and did all his work by himself. Generally, old people are active, and Quinn expected Blake to be this type of person.
But after seeing the car's miserable condition Quinn knew that he was mistaken. Blake got in the car without even bothering to give a rough cleanup.
After half-an-hour bumpy ride and a few near death experiences, all thanks to the malfunctioning boosters.
When Quinn got down, and a huge steel gate greeted him. Once they neared the entrance, the gates automatically opened and the pair made their way to the office building adjacent to the gate.
Inside the office, an old lady who was sleeping on a couch. The moment they stepped into the hall she woke. After seeing Blake, the old lady immediately jumped up and apologized.
She was fiddling like fanatic before her idol; her wizened were glittering like stars. All of a sudden Blake wore scholarly bearing with a dignified aura swirling around him.
'This old man is really shameless and why the hell is he acting like the Dean of the school.'
In took an entire minute for old lady realize the presence of another person. Still she ignored him and continued to flirt with Blake. Fortunately, Blake was a slippery eel and insisted on finishing the job in hand.
Finally, she passed a black card reluctantly to Quinn. It was a hard yet flexible Black card with 'A - 9' written on either side of the card. There was no symbol or indication on the card just the number.
Quinn and Blake walked down the lane a few minutes which led them a larger road.
“Brat, work hard and make us proud. Also enjoy your school days in a man’s life this place is the only real heaven. Remember your future is in your hands and you’ll have to find the room, keep this card safe. Bye, Quinn, take care."

Then Blake gave the card to Quinn and ran back to the office.
Quinn was dumbfounded seeing this old man running after giving a severe lecture. When he saw him entering the office, Quinn's opinion about Blake slightly changed. 'He's a perverted lazy old coot.'
Then he looked around before him 10 columns of buildings were extending till the horizon. All the buildings were identical, and in the same colour, it looked so similar that if one removed the numbers, no one could differentiate one from others.
Luckily, all the columns had a huge billboard indicating their name like A – Column, further each building was numbered A-9, H-80, and so on.
Quinn wasn’t going to get lost with such clear signs in place. He reached the building in ten minutes, and the door automatically opened when he walked on the doorway.
Behind the door middle-aged was standing in butler attire and respectfully bowed to the kid standing before him.
[Greetings, Master Quinn; you are the first one to arrive at 'A-9'. Please come in.] And the butler led Quinn into building.
[Master Quinn those arrive first has the privilege to select their room; here are the visuals of the building. Please make your selection.]
Then a ray came from butler's eyes, and a virtual structure was formed. It was a three-story building; the ground floor was the Main training hall. The main training hall was common for all of them.
The first and second floor was a private residence. The first floor was the living room while the second floor was their Cultivation Room. The first and second floor was divided into four equal parts; the Cultivation Room was accessible from the Living Room.
Quinn saw the layout and found that everything room was exactly the same except for views they got from the balcony, the two rooms in the back are facing the forest beyond the campus wall while the rooms in the front were facing the opposite building.
Without giving it much thought Quinn selected the room the facing forest to get pleasant natural scenery. He selected the room in the right corner; Quinn went to his room with the butler.

The room was spacious with just a bed and a large closet. Quinn was satisfied with the room and went to check out his Cultivation room. The staircase was in the left corner of the room.
Just when Quinn went to the stair, the butler stopped him.
[Master Quinn, the Cultivation room is locked; it will unlock after the classes begin.]
Quinn wasn't really eager to learn about Cultivation room.
"Sir, what's your name? Why is the dorm so empty?" Quinn just asked casually.
[Master Quinn people will address me as butler M9] Quinn just accepted it as he wasn't very keen on the name as the butler was just an android.
[The dormitory is very empty because generally, the students will only come in the evening.] Quinn guessed that Blake would have bought him early to flirt with that old lady.
[Master the PI and other energy devices will not work inside the school campus. The only device that works in the campus is the School Ring. Once you enter the school, you will be disconnected from the outside world.
Master Quinn, please give your card. I will transform the card into your School Ring. In the dormitory, when you remove your School ring, the PI will re-activate.]
Quinn didn't know if he should laugh or cry when he heard that his PI wouldn't work. Quinn just got his PI did not have the opportunity to explore it, he was planning on exploring more about his PI when he was in the school.
Unwillingly Quinn gave his card then butler M9 took his left wright and placed the black card on. Then Quinn lost his connection with his PI and felt the same connection with the card.
Afterwards, the black card melted in butler M9's hand and turned into a metallic liquid. Then it slowly formed into a ring. Butler M9 gave a ring to Quinn. Quinn had his storage ring on his right hand, so he wore this ring in his left-hand fingers.
[Master you can change the ring to any colour you wish, and if you want to use PI then remove your School Ring, it will automatically reconnect.]
After explaining about the School Ring, butler M9 went out. Quinn immediately removed the ring to re-activate his PI. When he was reconnected to his PI, he let out a sigh in relief.
But when he saw the PI screen, his intestines turned green as all the functions were down due to non-connectivity except video chatting. Quinn felt like he was holding a featured phone with video calling function.
He really felt helpless, and thus he wore his School Ring; it had some introductory information about the school. After reading it Quinn felt a frog in a well, it turned out that the school he has been enrolled into is called ‘Natal Dawn School’ which also happened to be best School in Unigux.
It had a very long history and enough strength to back its name. Even in the universe, it will be comfortably placed in top 10,000 schools. Don't look down on 10,000 as there are a nearly infinite amount of schools in the universe and getting within 10,000 ranks is a great achievement.
Their school campus was located in the outskirts of Southern Ronadak. Actually, the whole school is inside Pregrandis Lake. The lake was filled with small islands to be more precise the school is in an archipelago.
It's an enormous lake in a roughly circular shape the size of the lake is about 70,000 sq. Km. There are totally 10 dorms in the school each with a capacity of 16,000, and so the total number of students studying in the school is 160,000.
When Quinn saw the numbers he felt dizzy, he could still not fathom how large this school was. Then there was a bizarre rule of not allowing any devices on the campus.
The explanation for having this rule is that the children growth would be affected by the energy devices and may have severe effects on the future cultivation so till graduation from the school there all fancy magical devices are banned.
