《Welcome to the Dungeon》Chapter 15

We looked towards the roar and saw, coming from below, was an orc. It wasn't a normal orc, though. It was at least four meters tall. Its head was a darker shade of red, almost maroon. Rather than a single club, it carried two! On its body was slightly rusted metal armor, with a missing section around the left shoulder.
I wanted to finish this quickly, so I cast the normal version of > and used my Arc Boots to > >, >, and >. These attacks didn't work, and, soon, the ice was completely gone. My next attack was to attempt a similar attack with Blackmail imbued with various elements. I tried ice, electricity, and fire. The great orc, as appraisal called it, took a little damage. At this time, Bella joined in.
She was attacking with her sword and dealing damage. She was able to cut off one of the orc's arms with relative ease, since my attacks did very little. Its vitality, originally 2250, had dropped by five hundred from her attack, while mine only brought it down by two hundred fifty. At this point, Bella was somehow blocked from attacking. An invisible force trapped her.
I thought, if I could beat this enemy, I could save her. I must save her, my wife. We could still talk through our thoughts, but we couldn't hear each other. Even though I would have to give up on whatever was dropped, I turned on > for my demon claw and rushed forward. I was able to easily get past the armor, but the decomposition only encompassed the area that my claw penetrated.
The claw itself didn't penetrate too far into the orc, leaving little more than a scratch. > away, I tried again. It was slightly further in, but the decomposition didn't go too far. The one club that I had been dodging so far hit me, sending me flying backward and lowering my HP to twenty. I was badly injured from that attack, and I had little time to plan my next move as the orc charged towards me.
Using soul search, I was able to see its soul. I hoped I could ignite its soul with >. I didn't think the elementary techniques would work, but this was a basic-level technique. I thought it just might work on the orc. Keeping the soul in my sight, I readied Blackmail, imbued with heavenly affinity.
My MP was almost drained, but I continued rushing towards it. I also noticed my SF increased to 1350 maximum. I finally got close enough, slashed with my sword, and tried to ignite its soul. It was successful, but the ignition and heavenly slash only served to bring it down to nine hundred vitality.
I barely dodged both clubs as I used the last of my MP to > away. My HP went down to ten, and I didn't know how much further I could go. I didn't think I could summon Typhon here or use my new spell. My next plan was to use one hundred spiritual force to fire a >. As I did so, once the cannon hit, I saw the vitality decreased by only fifty. There was still a long way to go before it went down completely. I was far enough away to fire a few more, but I noticed the SF I expended increased my maximum! I was now only fifty SF away from the border of transforming.
It was at this point that I looked at Bella, and it looked like she was in pain.
"Bella, are you OK?" I asked.
"I'm hanging in. I can continue. Defeat the great orc."
"I'm trying, but I'm worried. My SF is almost at the limit."
"Don't use spiritual force. This last little bit is the hardest, and it may take twelve hundred expended SF to increase it to the limit, but it's not worth trying. With such a high probability it can fail, I don't want to lose you."
"I don't want to lose you either, Bella."
I could see that she was really struggling, and it looked like her HP must be very low. She was barely able to stand and had reverted to her winged form. Her breathing seemed ragged. I didn't know if she could continue to survive in there for too much longer. I had to think of something.
I remembered the bracelet I was wearing, which was restricting my SF. Using the method my demons taught me, I put demonic aura onto the bracelet. It broke, and I felt the demonic energy and spiritual force mixing. My SF immediately increased to my limit, but I could sense something was wrong! I felt different, and I was worried about the nature around me. I felt less like a human, though I couldn't really describe why or how I felt less human, though.
I began chanting the spell for >. I had to save Bella at all costs. I couldn't let her die! I didn't care what happened to me, only that she will survive. While I was thinking this, I saw the blackness of the void and the fog of the void permeating through the air. The chant I was ready to say changed.
"Spiritual serpent descend upon this land and rein down your destruction. I call upon the Council of the Void, masters of the area of nothing. Everything and nothing shall come towards you. I offer my soul as sacrifice to ignite the fire of life. Let it be known throughout all the worlds that the void may reach! The power that no place can bear, no mortal can survive. Rise up from the ashes of all who have gone before and become mine! Fulfill my selfish desire and become my follower. I give thee life, which is above my authority, with the consent of the Council of the Void! I, Roberto command life! Rush forth!"
I fell down, but a giant snake appeared in the sky. It had water constantly flowing all around it, intermixed with strands of black. It also had large black wings.
"I command you, for all eternity, protect the fairy Princess Isabella in place of me."
I was barely able to remain conscious as I saw the ferocious beast devour the great orc. My SF had greatly surpassed the limit, now showing 1/2100. I began dreaming about many things. The next thing I noticed was that I was lying on a bed of water. It was my creation, acting as a bed. Next to me, Bella was asleep.
"Bella, wake up," I groaned.
"Roberto? Are you OK? You don't seem to entirely be a fairy, so I don't see how you could be alive. You also don't have a soul. I talked to the queen," She began crying, "and she said you had at most an hour left."
"Don't cry, let's live my last moments together. Let's finish what we started and officially complete this floor."
When I said that, we teleported immediately to the white orb.
"Watch out, I see a fairy," Amon said.
"A fairy?" I questioned.
A fairy appeared from behind the orb and began talking, "Bella? What are you doing here?"
"I'm here, with my husband," she said in between sobs.
"Husband?" the new fairy seemed astonished.
"Yes. Why are you here?"
I was sent on a mission by the dungeon this time, not from the queen. This explorer has been doing something strange to the orbs he encounters. They've all malfunctioned, so I was sent to investigate.
"Did you trap Bella?" I creaked.
"No, the dungeon did. It wanted you to defeat the great orc master by yourself. You even got a mission, since it was an evolved form that shouldn't be here. I thought it had something to do with your manipulation of the orb, but, now, I can see your relationship is true." She said as she checked her screen.
"It almost killed her!" I tried to shout
"It shouldn't have done that. I'll report to the queen… no this should go to someone with at least level seven authority! First, please proceed to the next floor."
I went towards the orb, as usual.
[Floor three complete. Authority level three recognized.]
[Achievement: first time third floor conquered by Earth explorer. Reward calculated. Reward: dimensional transfer permission recorded]
It was another reward I knew nothing about, but I couldn't care. I didn't have much time left.
Like the second floor, the silver ring turned back into its six-pointed star form. A second later, a bright white light came up from the ring and engulfed the orb.
[Unknown interference detected. Crystal orb error]
When the system finished, the orb didn't leave. The new fairy checked it out for a minute before stating, "nothing seems off. It must be a false alarm since you are so close to being a fairy. Especially since you are with Princess Isabella, I shall report back that it was all a false alarm. Please take this spell book as compensation."
Bella was still crying, and I received the spell book, typhoon, not bothering to actually learn it.
In my mind, I heard the new demon. "I am President Foras. I see you have no soul. I'll have to fix you up quickly."
I suddenly felt the most extreme pain I've ever felt all over my body. I could see my soul, with many white strings attached. It was slowly coming back into my body, but it was becoming translucent at the same time. I saw my soul finally reenter my body, and, from my back, black and white wings sprouted. Checking my status page, I saw my race and stats changed. My MP, SF, and HP were all recovered as well.

"I have finished my job of making you immortal as a thank you for freeing me. Hello, Amon, Seere," Foras Said
"Hello, President Foras," Seere said.
"Hi," Amon said.
"Husband, congratulations!" Bella exclaimed, "I can see you suddenly became a fairy. Now, we can be together forever!"
"I'm so glad," I said, almost crying at being so happy I somehow survived.
"I see you already have the overcoat, so let me provide you with a gift as well," Foras said. "This is God's Helmet."
God's Helmet (broken/growth) (soul bound/unnamed) (Armor)
Durability: infinite
Description: allows breathing underwater, 50% nullification of physical attacks aimed at the head, nullifies attacks based/aimed at the mind
I equipped it, even though my spiritual abilities covered for its effects. I named it Proper. Once done, Bella and I went back to the queen.
We arrived in the throne room, as usual.
"Hello, Bella, Roberto. Let me say congratulations. I never expected your transformation to pass so fast. Now, you two will be together for all eternity. I'm glad."
"Thank you for allowing us to do so," I responded to the queen.
"There is one thing I'm astonished about, though. You are still able to travel to Earth and back, as well as your ability to continually explore the dungeon. Would you consent for me to search deeper?"
"Go ahead," I said. I had nothing to hide, and I was surprised that I was supposed to not be allowed back home. Once the system popup asked, I consented.
"I see, now. You can use dimensional travel, and your tunnel allows you to travel there, since you have its coordinates. Even as a resident of the dungeon, you can still explore because your ID remains active."
"Could you please explain in more detail what you are talking about?" I asked, confused.
"Sure. For traveling between dimensions, there are many requirements. This includes that the catastrophe must have already occurred, in the case of dungeon explorers transferring using the dungeon's system. Your powers as a fairy allow you to go without the system. You also have your own personal tunnel, which, while not unheard of, is quite rare."
"What’s that?" I asked.
"It is a tunnel that protects people from the powers of the void while going through dimensions. It connects between the dungeon's dimension and others by using their coordinates. You have Earth's coordinates, so you can transfer fine. You also were originally a resident there, so you can easily get past the barriers."
"What if I just traveled through the void?"
"If you could do that, you could go anywhere—even to the head of this dungeon. You would be a void master, able to freely traverse the void. You will, one day, master it enough. For now, though, your serpent is proof enough that you will arrive there some day."
"My serpent's still here?"
"Husband, it always has been. Just look at your hand."
Looking down, on the back of my right hand was a design, almost like a rune. There was a multi-pointed circle, surrounded by a larger circle. A complex system of swirls was all around, as well."
"He's in here?" I questioned
"Yep. But he will stay put and won't interrupt us," Bella said, hugging me. I hugged her back.
The queen interrupted our moment. "Normally, fairies must stay in the dungeon and partake in missions at all times, unless ordered otherwise by the dungeon. Roberto, you already received a mission without knowing it. You are also considered a resident of the dungeon, and that imposes a restriction on you. After floor twenty, adventurers of different planets form parties. You will be unable to, however."
"I'm okay with that. I have Bella."
"You also can learn a little more about our situation. I know you've met Isaac before. There are many different races here who had come from eons ago, before the dungeon was formed. I can't tell you the details of that, but you can now also meet them. I will tell them about it shortly. I will also tell the Controller."
"Thank you."
"You two are also now eligible for a home here. Think of it has compensation for forcing missions upon you. Don't worry, though. After talking to the Controller, I should be able to make them optional and review them first."
"System, please open a spatial connection to Isaac," the queen stated.
"This will be fun," Bella said. "I've only been to a few of these. Let's go husband!" she said
"K," I responded, following the queen and her through the spatial distortion.
We arrived in a meeting room. Isaac, the goblin chieftain was there along with a black skeleton covered in a black robe.
"Oh, Noah is here too." the queen said.
Bella was hiding behind me, shy from seeing the two guests.
The queen continued the introductions, "Noah is the supreme arch lich, ruler of the undead. He, like us, is from before the time of the dungeon."
"Don't tell him this! It's not for an explorer to know!" Isaac said, worried.
"You'll see why I'm telling him this soon. Like Isaac, Noah has level four authority and controls monsters. You'll meet some of his spawns very soon."
"Fairy Queen, why have you called me here?" Noah asked. His voice sounded scary!
"I called Isaac, since he has a personal connection to this boy, Roberto. You just tagged along."
"Knowing this boy's power, I expect it must be something big. Have he and his wife already beat floor five? No, if you're calling us here, don't tell me its floor ten!" Isaac said.
"They've just completed floor three," the queen said.
"Then why did you call us?"
"I am telling you first and will soon go to the Controller. This man is no longer a human. He has transformed into a spirit—a fairy none the less."
Both Isaac and Noah were speechless. "How is this even possible?" Noah recovered and spoke first.
"Their bond was strong enough, and he could already use spiritual force. I wouldn't be surprised if he, at some point, would also acquire death energy, Noah. He may be able to free us, especially because of one of his secrets."
"What secret?" I asked, unaware of what kind of a secret I'd had myself.
"I have hidden our existence from them, but this man, no, this fairy has control over some powerful subordinates."
"My serpent?"
"No, that is just one of the weaker ones. He has a serpent from the void embedded in his hand. The real power, though, is that he has complete control over two demons."
"Actually, it's three now. You've probably read the report from the fairy who watched. That's how I got my third."
"Okay. He has three powerful demons working under him. His heavenly affinity is also extremely high. If it weren't for the void serpent and the demons, he might have even evolved into a heavenly fairy or an angel!"
"An angel?" I asked
"An angel!" Noah, Isaac, and Bella simultaneously exclaimed.
"It may still be possible. I do not know. Roberto is strange. He can also possibly become a pure demon. I've slowed his transformation from acquiring more demons, but it is still a possibility."
"You've done what?"
"The bracelet has been broken. You should see within the next few minutes," she responded.
"Still, what's an angel?"
"An angel is a very formidable foe who serves a God," Noah said, disgusted. When he finished, I heard the system.
[Advanced demonic techniques level up! Level 3!]
I appraised the new skill.
Demon ears
Description: Can hear everything said aloud and everything in nature. It is also possible to hear inner thoughts and secrets with enough practice. Hearing sensitivity increases to a minimum range of 10Hzs to 250kHz
It didn't seem like too bad of a skill, but I knew there must be something bad about it. I could now transform my eyes, ears, and arms into demonic parts.
"Thank you for informing us. I will advocate for whatever may help him. I'll be on your side, if you need any help against the Controller. I mean, level nine authority is very high."
"Thank you, Isaac," the queen said.
"I'll be leaving as well. I can't wait to see how this boy likes my floor. It may be a while before he becomes free. Since he's an explorer, he may be the first to conquer the dungeon and beat the Controller. It may take eons, but it will be interesting."
"Eons?" I thought, worried by such a long amount of time.
"Don't worry, I'll be with you the entire way," Bella said, seemingly able to know how I felt.
We all left the meeting room and went our separate ways. Bella, the queen, and I went to the forest, where she showed us a room in the castle. This was our new home if we wanted to use it. I was collecting too many homes! I had my mansion, my secret house with Bella, my home on Earth (though I didn't own it), and, now this room!
"It's my old room!" Bella said, no longer acting shy after the meeting ended.
I looked around, and I saw that it was filled with some cute drawings and some more professional. There was a large, comfortable-looking bed in the center.
"Do you like to draw?" I asked her.
"I did a few years ago, but I couldn't find too many interesting sights in the dungeon," she responded.
"What about on Earth?"
"Husband, that's a great idea," she said while pushing me down towards the bed.
"Since it's late, why don't we sleep here tonight?" I suggested.
"K."
Like that, we lied down in the bed and discussed how great of a painter she is and how I'm excited to see what she paints on Earth. Even though my praise embarrassed her, she still talked about her previous experiences. It was a fun conversation before we drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, when we woke up, we went to our private house in my spiritual realm, which has greatly expanded along with my SF. There was now a small forest surrounding our house and a small stream outback. There, we took a bath before returning to earth.
When we returned to my house, I made an excuse that we slept over a friend's house. It wasn't entirely wrong—the queen is my mother in law, so I guess she can count as a friend.
It was then I realized what day it was! It was early this year, but tomorrow was August 28th! It was the day I was taking the big standardized test.

8 176The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)
