《The Rise of the Soul Stealer》Chapter 4: The Trouble Trio

“Welcome, I did not think Lilith would send her two up and coming geniuses all the way here for some little human brat.”
Davy Jones was astonished that the Succubus would go through all this trouble.
“Hush, Jones. Pardon my subordinate, but I feel in a similar fashion. Is there another reason why you are here?”
"Why should it matter?"
At this, the boy spoke. He held himself in a regal manner, although he was the same height as Melakios, if not shorter. Like his sister, Lilu had strange hair color and small white horns on the side of his head. While Lilitu’s was a bright pink, his was a striking light blue.
They appeared to be wearing military clothes, but more colorful. Upon inspection, Cernunnos was surprised to see the uniform for the prestigious Demon Academy. Their tails were coiled at their waist like a belt.
The outfits were full of bright golden buttons and buttoned all the way to the top. The material looked intimidating in its red color. On both of the children’s left shoulder, there was a rose with what appeared to be blood dripping from its petals while surrounded by thorny vines.
Quite detailed for a little patch on the arm, Melakios thought.
For Lilitu, the style changed slightly. While Lilu had pants, she had a skirt that reached three inches above her knee. She did not carry herself with ideas of being higher than anyone else, since she wore normal shoes and stood at the same height as Lilu.
Maybe that’s part of their dress code? Melakios was trying to learn as much as he could of these three.
“Mistress Lilith has requested for the human called Melakios, so we shall bring him.”
This time, the maid spoke. Unlike the traditional maid uniforms, like the ones around Eligor’s mansion, this lady had a frilly look. She instantly stood out anywhere, not unlike the twins.

Her skirt reached her ankles, but accented her figure more than Lilitu’s skirt did. Ardat Lili had what looked like an apron on her front that covered her lower half above the knees. She had what looked like a frilly crown on her head and glasses.
It would take a while before Melakios would find out that what Ardat Lili wore was a Victorian maid’s uniform.
Her skin was darker, almost matching the black on her uniform. She had a youthful appearance that many would have thought she was eleven or twelve, if she wasn’t so tall. She almost approached Cernunnos’ height.
As she said those words, the hall was quiet.
“Hehehe…so demanding. For what purpose?
Davy Jones may not have liked Melakios, but he liked the Succubi even less. There was a branch of Succubi, called the Sirens, which mated with the merfolk. These Sirens would use their spells to lure sea goers to their demise.
Even if you have a bag of broccoli in the freezer, you’re not going to feed your enemy, are you?
Lilitu clearly caught on that Davy Jones was irritated.
“For our Great Mother. Whatever she says, we complete,” she said.
“Not to mention, I doubt you have the requirements to teach this child about his powers.” Lilu couldn’t help but to interject as well.
All the while, only one person was quiet. Cernunnos was thinking of the outcome. If Melakios was truly given an education, then the decision to send him would be a beneficial one. If the Succubi were to try and experiment on him, that was another matter altogether. If they were to find out about 'that,' then...things would get even worse...
“Can you guarantee his safety and health?”
‘Cernunnos shows great concern for this human child,’ thought Ardat.

“It’s not a matter of his wellbeing, all that matters is-” ”Yes. We can guarantee it.”
Lilu was obviously not enthused by the actions of these minor beings. But having his sister interrupt him meant he was to stay out of the conversation for a while.
Cernunnos was still apprehensive, but gave in.
“Alright, since the discussion has been resolved, go bring in the boy.”
“No need. I’m already here.”
Melakios jumped from the ceiling as he admitted to his spying.
Now it was time for him to talk.
“You brat! What are you doing spying on us?!”
“Hoh, so you can now hide yourself from our senses? Not bad, kid.”
“Oh, Melakios. You have only made the matter even worse.”
The three demons Davy Jones, Eligor, and Cernunnos all interjected their thoughts out loud, forgetting where they were.
“Hmph. Some little human insect dares to intrude in such a manner?”
Lilu was actually surprised, taking a hit to his pride. Not letting it go, he confronted Melakios.
“Hmm? You’re calling me little? Then you must be tiny.”
Davy Jones instantly grinned. Not at Melakios starting trouble, but pretty much slapping that twerp Lilu in the face. Not backing down was a good sign for a demon, after all.
Even Lilitu stifled a giggle by hiding her mouth her hand. Ardat Lili was trembling, trying not to laugh out loud. She had great difficulty thanks to her actual personality. In fact, all the female Succubi liked to cause trouble, or at least watch it happen.
Lilu flew into a rage, walking over to Melakios with his fists clenched.
“What. Did. You. Call. Me?”
“I implied that you are shorter than me and your actions are hypocritical at best.”
Most of the people in the room were surprised. A 10 year old human talking like this? How did he learn such vocabulary?
“You cretin! You are not capable enough to be condescending to me! It is time you learned some punishment!”
Lilu started to gather power as his tail unraveled and swayed in the air. He lifted his hands and gestured towards Melakios, but all the human did was sneer in return.
Melakios’ eyes began to blacken, as the surrounding area was visibly darkening and the temperature started to freeze.
“Do not think I am so weak, idiot.”
“Enough prattling, you worm!”
