《Metalbound》Chapter 4- Freedom

Subchapter 3.5- Escape
We decided to wait until the gaurd switched posts and checked on us, and then we made our move. I could slowly change the shape of my body, so it took a little bit to get out of the shackles. Once I was out, I changed my finger so it could fit into the keyholes on the others' chains. I went around and unkocked all of the other's shackles. We needed the shackles intact for a part of our plan. After we were all free, we broke down the divider between us and the "suprise".
He was a massive imp that had four arms. He growled and frothed at his mouth, trying to escape. Amara shushed him, and I went to work on his locks. Amara explained that the mad scientist had caused the imp to mutate into a barely sentient version of itself with massive power. Apparently he was a Four Armed Demon, and he had a massive increase in power, like me. I was really starting to worry about the sanity of the Mad Scientist.
Amara could somewhat communicate to him, so she explained the plan. We would send a signal that we were attacking, and then release Four-Arms to cause mayhem. The triplets and Bella would focus on keeping the Daemon occupied while we suprised him.
Chapter 4- Freedom
The triplets blated a hole in the roof of our caravan car, and poked one of their heads out.
"Revolution!" screeched their raspy voices.
Imps all around started attacking other imps, causing mass chaos. Four-Arms blasted out of the side of the caravan car, bashing in heads of imps. Amara and I snuck around the side of the car, looking for the Daemon. He was in the middle of the carnage, incinerating random imps. The triplets and Bella were blasting the Daemon's loyal imps from the safety of the roof. They had nowhere to hide. The caravan had parked in a basin, so they had no cover. We were winning.

Now for phase two.
Amara and I snuck behind the Daemon and hid, using the chaos as cover. In our arms we had the energy-blocking chains. On a count of 3, we charged him and tried to put them around his ankles. Amara succeded, but before I could chain him, he latched onto my neck with his clawed hands. He lifted my up with his hand around my throat.
Before I could think of an escape plan, a four armed blur hit the Daemon squre in the chest. I was thrown backwards a couple feet and skidded to a stop.
The mutant was kicking the shit out of the Daemon, since the daemon couldn't use magic. Suddenly there was a huge burst of heat and the chains melted off. The Daemon had let out a huge burst of energy, blowing Four-Arms and the chains away.
The Daemon looked wounded, and completely drained of energy. Four-Arms charged him again, and landed a few solid hits on his torso. The Daemon finally got his sword unsheathed and stabbed him through the chest.
Four-Arms fell backwards, dazed, and sat down. Just then, Bella unsheathed her wings and flew down from the roof of the car. She stood between her father and the mutant, looking pissed as hell.
The Daemon looked at her with a horrifying grin. "Hello daughter, have you came to join me?" it hissed.
"No" came the thunderous reply. Bella took two steps forward, and punched the Daemon. It was blown backwards by a burst of raw power coming from her fist. I was taken aback by the pure ferocity that she displayed. She flew over to where the Daemon was and repeatedly punched him in the face, leaving it a bloody mess.
"Goodbye, Father" she whispered.
Her foot came down on the top of his head, and he stopped moving. The Daemon was dead.

Journey of my Core
I have a hard time referring anything that I write to as 'Original'. The longer we as a species exist the harder it is to be truly original, I am certainly influenced by all that I read and watch Including but not limited to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, and all of the stories here on Royal Road. From the start the MC is only able to comprehend the most basic of what is impacting it with very little to no understanding of the MC's surroundings. There may be updates in the future, but I am in no way a consistant writer. I will never claim to be the best artist, but I drew a representation for my story. Procrastination... Procrastination... A note from the Author: PLEASE leave a review and alert me of any plot holes, weak portions, and anything else. I am in desperate need of beta readers and feedback. I wrote this around the new year, 2020. It's about 40k words and the first in a planned series that follows Gar "Alany" Darron and his agency of detectives as they track missing persons in the city of Throne. I have the sequel planned but not written. Once this one is completely uploaded, I'll be uploading another, unrelated series that as of right now is roughly 160k words long, and somewhere in there, I'll write the sequel to Frame of Mind. I plan to go back and forth between the two series for the foreseeable future. Thanks for reading.
