《Vienna's Game》Chapter 2

Beep! Beep! Beep!
The sound of my stupid alarm rang. God damn it, no more sleep for me. This is what I get for staying up until midnight playing that damn gacha game.
I opened my eyes and forced myself awake. I threw myself up and stretched my arms above my head.
“Another day of teaching, another day of telling senior students how to live their lives.”
I tossed my blanket to the side and slammed the off button on my alarm. I made my way to my bathroom. Luckily my apartment was small and it took me less than ten seconds to end up in there. I glanced at the mirror before rubbing my eyes.
“Did I always look this bad without makeup?”
It’s not like I should care about how I look anyways. It's not like I am looking to get married any time soon or anything. Although, I am about to hit the societal barrier in a couple of months, so maybe I should.
If I got married would I be able to still teach my students? Well, I would not be too bothered to be honest, as long as I had a cute baby to keep me busy throughout the entire day.
I brushed my hair as I glanced at my face, trying to find any pimples to hide. After brushing my hair, I picked up the follicles that fell off my head or were stuck on my brush and placed them into the trashcan. I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste and brushed my teeth.
I glanced at myself once more into the mirror. I wonder what it would be like if I could talk to myself. Not in a mental kind of way, but like a separate personality to myself. I want to see if I could debate with myself or something like that.

Thinking about it, it would be amazing. Well, that’s another question that I can ask my students.
“If you could talk to another one of your personalities, what would you talk about?”
My students would probably think that I am mental for thinking of a question like that. I would not be too bothered if they began questioning me after that, but they have known me for almost 3 years now, so they should be used to it by now. If not… well that is on them.
I am preparing them for the real world. They are odd ones like me in the world and they are going to need to learn how to interact with them… Not that I am a completely odd person or anything like that. I am just a teacher who likes their job, that’s all. It’s not like I only took this job because I had no other options, no, definitely not.
I walked out of my bathroom and quickly changed my clothes before rushing out of my apartment and to the train station. When I arrived at the train station, I bought myself a small breakfast with a bottle of water and quickly ate while standing next to a recycling bin. When I finished, I threw my bottle into the recycling bin and tossed my trash at the nearest trashcan. I rushed over to my train and sighed as I got on.
I need to change this morning routine because it's honestly getting so tiring.
Well, it’s not like I can change anything about it anytime soon, this routine does provide me with stability because it is timed perfectly. I sat down in an open seat and sighed.
“At least this day is not so bad, then again, it is just starting.”
When I arrived at the school, I saw that several students were already crowding beside the entrance. Several teachers were walking in as well. There was still an hour until school starts, so I question why these students are here instead of maximizing their sleep.

The library might be open at this time, but who would spend their time studying in the morning before school. Teachers should not be giving exams at this time of year either. I should ask why some of my students arrive early.
When I arrived at the faculty office, it seemed like all the teachers had arrived already and I was the last one. I shut the door behind me, one of my colleagues called out to me.
“Looks like you are going to have to buy the first round of drinks on Friday, Ms. Oshino!”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” I replied as I made my way to my desk.
I sat down on my desk and looked through the stacks of paper I left unsorted last week. I have several regrets about not organizing them before leaving Friday evening… It’s not too bad though, at least I left some sticky notes on them and I have not completely forgotten about them either. Sorting through these papers should be simple.
When I finished halfway organizing these papers, I looked at the clock. It was 8:45 am, so I stood up and began making my way to my homeroom class. I began to speed my pace because I wanted to ask them this question.
I will prevail in being remembered as the cool teacher to these students. Being the most memorable teacher is an achievement after all. They would also be the first group of students that I have known for the entire three years before they graduate too.
This is a special moment for me, and I hope that this question will at least leave somewhat of an impression on them. As I arrive at the front door of my classroom, I took a deep breath and opened the door.
The room was bustling with activity as always and my students did not take notice of me opening the door.
“Okay class, we’re about to start now, so return to your seats,” I said loudly.
“Yes, Ms. Oshino.” They replied in unison.
I walked towards the board and turned to face it. As I began writing on the board, I noticed a bright light in the corner of my eye. When I turned my head, the bright light had engulfed my class and was heading towards me.
Before I had the chance to do anything, the light had surrounded me. I felt intense heat everywhere in my body, my body felt like it was disintegrating. When I closed my eyes and opened them again. I was in a dark room lit by torches and what seemed to be a magical circle.
