《Mountain's folly》6. Volcano Man

That was not good. That was very not good. Catching the attention of a powerhouse in the sect was really not ideal. I could feel it rolling off him as well. This guy was stronger than my father, which did worry me a little. Even my prime soul would be nothing but a child to the power that he was putting off. There was no way I would able to keep my secret under wraps if he was overseeing my cultivation every step of the way. Which was an issue. Although I was disposable, that didn't mean I wanted to die so soon after getting to this place. That was such a wasted opportunity.
"Now child, I now you have ideas of being under great Elder Peng, but that is just because you do not know who I am, once you do, I promise you will be falling over yourself to become my disciple. Also you don't have a choice."
With a wave of his hand, which I was sure was just for show, he opened up a portal right there, that was some impressive stuff, even if he got assistance from a spatial array in or around the library. Such proficiency with space really spoke to just how capable he was. That was not something the average Nascent Soul could do. But he had made the fact that he was quite a bit above the average nascent soul very much clear.
"Come now, I want to start your training as quick as we can, so I will show you around my mountain, of which you will have full access, then to you new abode, which as a chief disciple of an elder will be far better than whatever you have now"
Grabbing me by the arm, he gave me little recourse to do anything but follow, the people around me slowly moving out of their haze as I returned to standard space, all before I was taken away to somewhere else in the sect. The sudden loss of control was quite startling. I was totally sure that this is a bad idea.

We came out to quite a shift in climate. Where as the rest of the sect had been nice and pleasant, this place was like an inferno. It took me a second to realise it pretty much was. A volcano, that was his cultivation space, A volcano.
Maybe this man would be pretty cool to have as a master. I also saw my out.
"Sir this is very impressive, but my constitution is not suited for a fire based cultivation technique."
The Elder who had still yet to tell me his name just turned to look at me.
"Nonsense, who says I practice anything to do with fire. Its called the emerald body technique, not the magma body technique, this locations extra pressure is simply fantastic in proceeding with cultivation, especially when you get to my level, you will need a lot of pressure."
Well that was a bust. The good news was that my soul was naturally attuned to the fire element among may others.
So I would be able to take on a lava technique without too much growing pains. This would give me a great reason to pursue that. The elder cared little for my musings however as he brought me straight into the wide chasm in the side of the volcano, with an arch around the entrance akin to the one in the library, except this one was a constant stream of lava coming from the mountain. It was a bit out of place in a righteous sect, but I suppose we all had our specific tastes.
"You will have full access to any of the suitable facilities here whenever you need, that is one of the pros of being my chief disciple, just one of very many."
His sale pitch was getting tired, but he was speaking the truth, as long as I could make sure he was a hands off type in his attitude towards his disciples then I could be pretty confident it would be actually a blessing in disguise.

There was no better agent of chaos then the Chief disciple of an immensely powerful and elusive elder. So that was all I could hope for at the moment.
"If you have any interest in alchemy I am afraid you are out of luck, for one I have no alchemy workshops here, as well as your constitution is quite diametrically opposed to alchemy so you will never have any major achievements in that field".
I was okay with that, I was already very proficient in alchemy and enchanting, so avoiding those at least early on would be in my best interests.
"As you might have guessed, I am more proficient in forging and crafting than anything else. The combination of my emerald body, the resources I have access to and this super volcano you see around you, come together to make me the greatest blacksmith in the land."
That was accompanied by quite the flourish. I could see already that he was a showman at heart, something I could definitely use to my advantage. That was one of the few things however. If he decided to take any continued interest in my progress, then I was not in the best position. Still this was an opportunity to use the resources of a very powerful elder, in the most powerful sect in the region, even if it is only in the short term, I would still be able to engender a whole lot of change. A constant corruption of the lower levels would affect the long term running of the sect, which I was more than capable of doing even in a very short amount of time, even if there is a lot of oversight from my new master.
"Now, lets go to your new home"
