There was a boy that was born on a place called Earth, this land named thing was actually a planet with approximately 4.5 billion years since formed...
Additional message only for aliens: Curious humans beware.
Spoiler: Spoiler
It was the third planet in a center star type system called the Solar system. The Sun was the name of the center star. It’s radiation arrived to the planet surface, allowing it to be an environment in which life could develop.
About 71% of its planet surface was covered with salt-water oceans, the remaining 29% is a combination of continents, islands, lakes and rivers. The polar regions of the planet were covered with ice, and were called the North and South Pole.
Its a planet where Life was developed about 4 billion years ago. Life on it evolved from a simple celled organism which combined into a multicellular one. Since then, evolution formed a large variety of species. (All of this information In reference to the XXI Century calendar of the planet.)
The only intelligent species on its surface were called Humanity in community and Humans individually. There was a whole number of non intelligent species in different kinds, but microorganisms made most of the population of the planet. This was followed by plants and insects.
The described world had an interesting division to the bigger animal species, calling them invertebrae and vertebrae. Of those, invertebrae are most of the populating species. Humans are as said earlier, the only acceptable level intelligence on the planet; they are part of the vertebrae.
The planet has a radius of 6400 km. Its atmospheric pressure is 1 atm or 100Kpa, with major composition of the atmosphere being nitrogen 78%, followed by oxygen 20.95% (values at sea levels).
The major energy production of the world's species is based on sunlight photosynthesis, glycolysis and oxygen phosphorylation. Humans use the last two pathways. Humans can’t produce their own energy; and although they can use both pathways, they still need oxygen for survival.
Humans created civilizations, cities and colonized most of the planet. They divided its territory, gave rise to building's and economy. As such they are the most important race on the planet.

The message below was supposed to be encrypted in webings or similar. Still it was impossible to do it in RRl... Consider yourself lucky as only little people will know how and try to decrypt it. (I decided to use binary, but went meh afterwards.)
Fellow aliens coming for samples to this world called Earth. Our current purpose for experimenting are not the humans. Although they can be important, the most interesting sample is a protozoan called diatom. We need to collect them when glaciers create the needed currents for life.
Beware of curious humans, those are the true trouble on Earth.
Congratulations, you are a cat that wasn't killed by either the infodump or an encrypted message. You surprise me and yourself. You can break horizons.
Part 0: The concept of destiny:
The story starts in such a world. It Follows the steps of a lifeform that was thrown in the ocean's currents behind human society. A boy that was raised by only his mother.
Although he wasn't born as an orphan and didn't lack basic food or shelter, his burden after a certain age was comparable. Usually, kids develop better with parenting or foster care, if compared with an orphanage. However, parenting or foster care can be —in certain conditions— worse than being in an orphanage.
Kids need to create emotional intelligence, a brain's foundation toward's constructing a growing brain's adaptation mechanism. A child's brain is exposed to the parental climate and learns by observation, mimicking, comprehending and internalizing.

The most important period for children to learn is in the younger ages, before 3 or 5 years old. Orphans usually have problems in such stages. This is called the sensitive period, it connects with what we call modeling and plasticity. Sadly, plasticity decreases with age, so the more a child suffers in this stage, the more difficult it is to correct it.
The boy we are talking about was exposed to parental separation. Although his initial modeling was normal, what came after became the steps for changing a 'Terrible Destiny'.
Some people think that life has something already prepared for you, others don't. All of that is based on concepts of cause and effect, which are constantly associated with luck or vice-versa.
So, Destiny or Fate; which one do you prefer? Or should you prefer me calling destiny as karmic destiny?
Fate is related to a god's will. Instead, Karma is related to actions. Some say they can be attached to specific souls, like a curse or a blessing. But those concepts are too spiritual and hard to describe objectively.
Let's change the word 'soul' that we can't easily define as 'you'. The thing inside your mind, that thing which describes or defines you. Like your bar code. Karma doesn't attach to it; instead, it looks at the things that happen between codes. Contrary to karma, fate attaches to it and becomes a part of you.
We can say that karma gives us control of our destiny. Instead, fate gives all the control to what we call god. Fate is an inevitable result. Karma is a shuffly result depending on the balancing of actions.
Fate is defined. Finite. This kid started with the destiny of fate, he was born with a black star. However, his karma is for him to control. The fated destiny was set, because an unknown cycle has already been broken.
What is the point of all this you may ask? Then let me return you a question. Can you predict this child's actions and future? Is his karma predictable?
Part 1: The concept of karma:
The law of Karma is a social and spiritual result. It represents actions or events. 'Don't do unto others, things that you don't want done to you.'
The law of causality or cause and effect is based on science. It is 'every action creates an equal and opposite reaction.'
The law of causality describes how an event of cause and effect occurs. The karmic belief represents the way those events —of cause and effect—, create a cycle. Karma is the result of a cycle of events.
Some describe karma as energy or threads. When In fact, it is a result of the various threads of events. Karma can be good or bad. And it can be expressed as science. Thus, it can be predictable. Different from fate, something already predicted or 100% sure to happen.
You may think what does karma have to do with science? Well, it does, but it's hard to understand because of its social or spiritual counterparts. But if math can describe it, there can be a method to express it. Thus, methodical approach and science can explain karma.
In the end, Karma and causality are predictable depending on that cycle's balance. However, the possibility of predicting such a huge cycle of events is unknown. It needs too much information, and probably energy. Thus, making it currently unpredictable with science.
But our dreams can break boundaries, and many can have that abstract intelligence or creativeness that's needed. Some said it needs a computer bigger than the current universe. Some added that you needed a God. But others stated...

Part 2: The unpredictable.
A reader can predict, thus divinate. A divinator can imagine, thus dream.
Dreamers use creativeness to build, becoming creators or architects of dreams.
Architects of dreams can break horizons. Even if those dreams were never shared.
Are you a reader, a dreamer, a creator or an architect? Everyone is one... at some point in life.
However, did you know? Even with that, there are things you can't predict. Someone might say, that it is because you don't know something. It is, but sometimes even understanding can make you deduce... That there are unpredictable things in existence.
Let us recap a bit...
In essence, karma means some sort of predictability which allows the concept of divination to exist. Things happen because there are causes previous to events. But there can be times where this isn't as effective as you would expect. Like in the quantic world.
Maybe you think such a little world is hard to describe, and it is. An electron can be at a given time in two places. This just means that the cause and effect in this world are broken or undefined. It's not as predictable as you would expect it to be.
As such, there are places were karma or the law of casualty will not work. Those places are simply unpredictable... And yes, it is because you don't know, couldn't visualize or it is simply undefined.
Despite that, readers strive for it. People may ask, why would they read an undefined, unknown or incomplete book?
Simple, readers like something they like to Divine. They love to order ideas, disorder them and reorder them. Readers like change but every reader started searching for order.
Thus, enjoy the unpredictable...
Part 3: The Predictable Unpredictable.
Somewhere in a blue sky planet, there was a human. One that depended only on his mother at the start of his life. A boy, who grew with hardship. But fate had nothing to do with this. Yet you... might not understand. As everything written here happened more than the counts on a hand.
After he was born, he could somewhat remember a happy family. As time passed, — at his over 10 years of age —, the fuzzy memories were vanishing; till the leftover memories were a foggy feeling about his father. He couldn't remember the reasons, but the family he had, just disappeared. Since then, he was only in the company of his mother.
They changed cities like the times it rained in a year. Shifting school's and friendships, shuffling their usual diets, knowing no one in each new town they arrived.
Friendly people came the first days, but with time they left. Staying then swaying, from a newcomer's perspective, his mother wasn’t caring. Rumors appeared but the woman never belied them. Only her son knew that after his first years of birth, she was left heartbroken, and the father was nowhere to be seen.
He was being raised by her, but she was regularly seen bringing money from a strange place. There were also people finding her, asking for money or her presence.
In spite of the thoughts of others, he believed in those never forgotten memories. Something difficult to understand for outsiders, since memories weren't useful at such moments.
Currently, they were staying inside an old apartment in the unknown city they were at. It was comfy inside, but it had a taste of being rundown and taken little care.
Although it wasn't the best place to stay, he never lacked the basic necessities, even school was paid by the mother. Still, he lacked something that only his mother could give him, a reason.
But that reason was never again asked, or better to say that it couldn't be asked. It was his best and worst memory fragments. A puzzle that he wanted to solve, but at the same time he didn't. Something that happened when his parents' hands separated...
At such time, the kid looked through the apartment's windows, he was remembering the time he wanted her to explain...
Time passed, cities changed, friends have forgotten, he only had a puzzled mother. A mother he loved. He was currently alone in the apartment, the mother was arriving later than usual. As such, he could only seek to unseal the knot in his beating heart.
"Mother what's the reason?" he murmured wistfully against the window, as he delved into the deepest and most secure zones in his memories.
Memories weren't perfect, he didn't remember the place, but mostly darkness and a flickering light, one that was his mother. Gray clouds appeared and snow started falling. Buildings raised and blocked the little sun in the sky. The imagination based on emotions made the scene depressing; but in fact, he didn't perfectly remember that day's weather. Even the clothes he wore may have changed in his memories. Still, the only things that increased were his queries.
Mom... What happened that day? Why did you leave, father? Why were you crying? Does it hurt that much, that you have been crying until today?
The child looked at his giant of a mother, cold wind entering his jacket and clothes. The mother trembled and opened her mouth, but no words came out. Instead of a reason, the mother in his memories crouched, hugged him and started crying.
He stayed still, basked in a hug's warm. It was also cold as freezing tears felt on his left shoulder. A hug that was light and dark in his memory world, cold and warm, wet and dry; a piece of warm that gave him the feeling of protection.
As obedient as a child his age was in such situations, he stayed still but curious. With time even his mind found the scene uncanny. He asked questions many times with a childish voice. "Mom are you alright? Where is the pain? Why are you still crying?"
He was around 3 or 4 didn't years at that time, he didn't understand the whole scene. As such, he could only think that his mom was crying because someone bullied her and the like. Maybe she had eaten something untasteful, having a stomach ache, or a scraped knee. He raised his hand and with confidence, he cast the 'magic' every genius archmage would at his current age.
"There, there, pain go away, pain will go away."
"Don't cry, I am here."
After being patted on the head by a young child, the woman cried more loudly. Not even him could know what was on her mind. The child anxiously tried more advanced level magic, until its futility made both washed sorrow by crying together. This, was his most cherished memory of what a mother's hug was.
If someone wanted to describe this, they could use a magic word like 'light', 'heal' or 'dispel darkness'. Instead, this was more than a simple phoenix down for him.
Memories continued flooding his visions as tears ran down his cheeks. He wiped them slowly and walked down the road of broken dreams.
The river of time took him to a place. Its end became a school, a place where he should make some friends. At the start, everything seemed okay. Nevertheless, asocial behavior started, but in the end, fewer and fewer children surrounded him.
It wasn't because of him. It was because his mother made strict rules to follow. She came to pick him up on school those days, then he was taught how to be independent of others. Thus, a new 'why?' appeared in his mind.
The new question was biting at his mind, yet it was never answered. When he finally got courage and asked, the woman only increased the efforts invested. He was obedient and wanted to please his mom. But things weren't the same, now instead of a hug, it became a pat, and a pat became a smile. It decreased until that warm smile was replaced with scorn or sarcasm. Everything in his mind became another 'why?'.
The forced alternation of places instigated the anxiousness building up secondarily to those queries. Many times, rooms full of belongings were abandoned, as they left without taking the time to package. No reason was given, but people were knocking and asking her for money. Being older, he tardily comprehended, his mother was probably absconding from debts.
Such acts were repeated and the mother only showed care when he fell or developed sickness. Maybe it was that opportunistic thought, the one which gave him the idea, to start self-hurting.
Part 4: Self hurting
To my alien friends. The curious reader as always beware.
Spoiler: Spoiler
Humans are incredible creatures. They are like plastic, literally. Like bags of plastic with more bags of plastic inside. Then trash, yeah trash goes at the end.
In my experiments I found that some humans can adapt to certain factors. The factor in today's study is pain.
Humans can to certain degrees adapt to pain. The amount of tolerance depends on the time exposition and type of stimulus.
For example their sense of pain or damage prevention is highly dependent on cell survival. It needs a hormone called cortisol. They call it the stress hormone, but should be more like the one for survival.
The more they want to survive, the more it's produced.
Take a look at this, pain can be physical and varied, like fire, piercing or electrocution.
It can also be psycological like making it run without stopling, giving them fear or disgust...
It can be acute or chronic. As in burning for 1 second or drawing alien manga for a year.
In acute situations, cortisol levels jump extremely high. The pain is also higher. The amount of trauma depends on the stimulus strenght.
In chronic situations, cortisol levels start high and decrease with time and stimulus. The more time the less they want to survive, the more they want to die.
With the reduction in cortisol levels, pain tolerance increases, until they can't tolerate more and wish to die.
See, it's an hormone of survival. It just expends the subjects reserves till they don't have anything... Not even their wills.

Imagine it in webings... Can't believe This didn't work.
All humans have some adaptability to pain. But becoming strange because of that is unusual.
Some humans in the defined test became sexually aroused by pain. This is not a normal condition and should be taken into consideration. Humans are adaptable to such point that uncommon humans mutate at such bottoms. This just proves the importance of reproduction in some sexual species. Including the will of life and it's continuation.
They call them masochists. Fellow alliens, beware of such unusual mutation.
It was a not so normal day in school. One of the teachers made him go to the nurse's office. Despite it being the nurse's office, there was a doctor or was it called a psychologist?
The teacher found his scabs one day and asked something. Receiving unsatisfying answers, he gave an order for his mother and himself, to have a counseling interview.
And here he was, in a room with a woman and a man. Still, his mother had work and couldn't be at the place. The nurse and psychologist examined him. He had little cuts or bruises, a product of his plot to gain attention.

Based on the novel by MGHT, Unparalleled. Things are not as they were. In this alternate story, follow our Hero(?) as he traverses the world. But, is this world really the one we know? I will be using MGHT's original story as a guideline, and applying my own touch to it. Due to there being a lack of information on the wider scope of things, I'll be throwing in things that may not adhere to the original author's plans. Then again, what fun is there in reading something that has already been done? Tags and genres stated are subject to change without notice, be it the addition or removal of tags. Cover art is a fanart I found online a long time ago. Character is Gyuki from Nurarihyon No Mago.

Wulfric Blackwell was his name, or at least the one he'd use this time. He really had no idea what his real name was. All of his memories had disappeared after an eternity in the Void, but the disembodied voice that called herself Eve said that's what he called himself in his last life on Ur before a technical error that sent him into that place where time and space meant nothing. If he wanted to remember who he was, then he'd have to play the game. Hopefully he didn't die again too soon. [LitRPG] + [Isekai]
