《How to become a Demon Lord》Chapter 2 Magic in a new world

As a Baby the time flew bye very quickly. He mostly slept or ate. Sometimes he overheard his parents. They talked a lot around him, so he got much information about this new place. Firstly, his name didn’t change. He suspected that Lazarus had his fingers in this. Secondly this place was nothing like earth. Here governed strength over anything. And this strength wasn’t only powers he knew from earth. There was magic, superhuman strength, godlike wisdom and other things. He knew he had to wait until the time was right for him to shine, but he was sure the time will come. So until then he waited.
Six months passed by in an instant. One morning when he woke up he heard it again. The ding sound.
Congratulations you have successfully completed the first quest. Here is your reward.
He didn’t feel anything different or saw anything special. He cursed in his mind. God dammit, what was this about ,status screen’?
Right as he thought status screen a new window popped up.
Name: Ragen Lv. 0

[Demon voice] (sealed) [Soul sucking] (sealed)
For a moment he was shocked, but then started to analyse his status. He thought that Lazarus hadn't really fulfilled his wish of becoming a ‘player’ in a real life, but he was wrong. Lazarus had promised to fullfil his wish and has made him into a 'player. While analyzing his status he roughly estimated that he was really weak right now. So he had to train and study to become stronger and obliterate the world to save his family and he had to find a way to fight against Lazarus if he betrayed him. He closed the status in his mind. The he crawled out of his cradle. But as he reached the door of his room, his mother came in and saw him. She said “Where are you going my little Ragen, I know you must be quite curios what is outside of this room but the time is not right yet. I have to put you back and now it's already feeding time. So come to mommy my little one” Ragen shouted in his mind NOOOO, not again, but it was useless and so he had to stay in his cradle and wait until his mother was finished with feeding him. Then she did something unexpected. She cast magic on his cradle. She said “Oh great Lord Lamassu protect this place and the person inside it”. Then a beautiful little dome stretched itself over the little cradle and protected him. His mother watched how Ragen's eyes became round and laughed a little. He sat inside his cradle and watched the whole process. He had heard a lot about magic and it’s power but to see it in real life was just too amazing. At this moment he heard a ding in his head.

Skill [Learning] has activated Player has learned the basic magic skill [Magic Shield Dome]
He was stunned. He could learn the skill by barely seeing it one? Could that really be true? It would be amazing. He waited until his mother left the room than he wanted to try the skill out. Just how? He thought about the words of his mother and repeated them but nothing happened. What was the name of the skill again? Ah yes [Magic shield dome]. He noticed how the mana flowed inside his body but nothing happened. Then he heard again a ding sound and a new popped up.
Player is unable to use the skill [Magic Shield Dome]. More mana is needed.
So mana was his problem. Now he just needed a method to increase his mana pool. While thinking about this he remembered something from his old life. Most of the masters in material arts or other arts of the mind and body had to meditate to get a deeper understanding of the universe. So he thought he also needed to mediate. He sat down in his cradle and started to mediate. He soon noticed the flow of his mana and after an unknown time to him he noticed some kind of mana around him. He wanted to grab it with his mind but it was to thin or too far away for him to reach it. Beside the mana outside of his body he started to notice the mana inside his body. He got a feeling for it. He tried to control the flow of mana inside his body but the result was quite poor, so he had to slowly advance. Another important thing for him was the breathing and the position in which he mediated. All those factors were important for his advance of his mana pool. Right as he tried to concentrate on his breathing he heard a lot of dings.

Those who remained immune soon moved into enclaves. In Japan, the feudal system revolving around the samurai class was revived, and resource wars became common. In the present, the Tachiyama Clan is under attack by the brutal Sasagawa Clan whose goal is nothing less than the total subjegation of all remaining human enclaves. Both sides take to the battlefield with human soldiers, robots, and the powerful Augmented Samurai -- cyborg warriors who do battle by plugging into six-meter-tall mecha.Hard sci-fi samuraipunk action!Posting schedule will be slightly faster in the early chapters as I have most of them ready to go. Later chapters will take more time. That said, the outline is written and finished. The Runners of Westal
Anya Vorian wasn't picky. She'd take any apprenticeship that came her way. She, Lori and Andrew had prepared all winter for the interviews, but when only one offer came with her name on it, she suddenly wasn't so sure that she could do it. It was hard work, for one thing. It was dirty. They were respected, certainly, but in the sort of way that one respects a skilled plumber - grateful to have the job done, but glad it isn't your arms elbow deep in dung. In short, runners were odd folk. Maybe it was time to get fast. - A first-person tale inspired by long distance running.

Ten Thousand Sallys
Imagine waking up in a hospital room, you can barely move. No one comes when you call. The only other person present is a little boy, who is, surprisingly, more help than you would expect. What would you do? This is the exact situation Sally finds herself in. Almost immediately she discovers that nothing is what she thinks it is. Not the boy, not the hospital, maybe not even herself. She is in deep trouble and the consequences will be dire if she can’t find a way out. She is a fighter, though, and just doesn't quit. As a baseline human, she starts as the lowest of the low and has to claw her way up in spite of being tangled in a shifting web of schemes and plots. She has to do her best, and maybe her best is pretty good. As Sally uncovers more about her situation, she finds that she has to be smart and tough and that in this place she needs to depend on her friends, who are using her as much as she is using them. This book contains themes concerning life, death, and body functions, light swearing, minimal nakedness, and should be suitable for most. Some pertinent info: Ten Thousand Sallys is a complete novel of approximately 140 pages in 20 chapters. Around 80,000 words. not too long, and maybe too short. Give it a read and let me know your opinion.
