"It was really nice meeting you Jane." James stated as he kissed the top of my hand.

"It was nice meeting you James." I reply with a genuine smile.

"It was great seeing you again," Adrian states as he and James do a man hug.

"You're not getting rid of me just yet, we're going to see each other at the dinner party again tonight." James replies and Adrian nods.

"We'll see you there." Adrian responds and we say goodbye one last time before James heads off into his car.

The rain had stopped and the sky was starting to clear out. Hopefully this was a sign that something good was going to happen.

"So, are you still going to buy me that dress?" I question trying not to sound like a gold digger. Honestly, I just wanted to know so that way if he is I will tell him not to.

"Yes." He answers as we enter the black car. I thank Darrel before turning to Adrian.

"Why do I even have to go with you? Can't you just go alone?" I whine as I buckle myself up.

"No I can't." Adrian snaps. "The people hosting this dinner are important people and one of them is a family friend-"

"You mean James? He already knows we aren't really dating so why should I bother to go?" I retort as I cross my arms over my chest.

"Because it's not James we have to worry about it's his father. He sold the land to us because he is a family friend and he knows that I am engaged so showing up alone wouldn't be a good image now would it?" Adrian answers. "Plus, all the guests are taking their wives or girlfriends."

"James isn't." I mumble but like always Adrian heard me.

"That's because unlike me he doesn't have the weight of losing his family's company on his shoulders. He doesn't have to fake marrying someone to get his family's company." Adrian snaps.

"No wonder, he is much more fun than you." I reply only to earn a frown from Adrian. "Look I'll go with you to the stupid dinner party only because it's my job but I can buy my own dress."

"I already told you I am buying it, so please stop being a stubborn woman and listen for once in your life." Adrian answers as he pinches the bridge of his nose.

"Fine," I sigh in annoyance.

"Good." Adrian replies before opening the small window that prevents Darrel from listening to our conversation. "Darrel take us to Josephine's."

Darrel nods before Adrian closes the window again. I lay my head on the cold glass window and let the car rock me to sleep.

"Jane wake up we're here." Adrian whispered as he gently shook me.

"I'm up, I'm up." I state as I stretch and rub my eyes. Adrian steps out first and I follow right after.

In front of us was a tall glass building with golden frames around the stainless windows. In cursive font and metallic color Josephine's was written. Adrian placed his hand on my lower back and led us through the spinning doors and into the breathtaking store. Spotless white tile floor laid under our feet, a chandelier hung above us and a golden cash register was placed in the far right hand.

"Good afternoon Mr. McKeller." A high pitched voice stated as a girl walked over to us.

"Good afternoon Gloria, is Josephine here?" He questions and the girl nods before going off to search for the so called Josephine.

"You really don't have to do this." I state as I turn around to face Adrian. "I can just buy a dress that looks exactly like one of these at a cheaper price in Forever 21."

"Jane we already talked about this now I'm buying you the dress whether you like it or not." He answers.

"Alright." I state as I roll my eyes in annoyance. I didn't want him wasting money on me but he was so stubborn!

"Adrian dear it's nice to see you again." An elder lady greeted as she made her way towards us. She looked like she was in her late fifties or early sixties.

"It's nice to see you, too." Adrian answers as they pull away from the hug. "Josephine I would like to meet Jane my fiancé."

"It's nice to meet you ma'am." I state politely as I give her a shy smile. Even she looked better than I did.

"You are beautiful sweetie, I'm glad that you were able to tame Adrian here." She jokes causing me to laugh softly. "So how may I be of your service today?"

"Adrian doesn't think I am beautiful so he brought me here so you can make me beautiful." I answer causing Adrian to frown.

"That's not true dear, you're the most beautiful girl in the entire galaxy." He responds as he pecks my lips and wraps his arms around my waist. "I just wanted to spoil my gorgeous fiancé and buy you a beautiful dress that matches your beauty."

"Aw, I love you so much." I reply as I peck his lips. Adrian deepens the kiss and I pull away knowing that Josephine was still in front of us.

"You two are so adorable." She gushes causing me to blush. Obviously she did not notice that it was just pretend meaning we were getting better at this. "Well let's get you all dolled up for your fiancé."

Josephine grabs my hand and leads us towards the back of the room where there are a bunch of gorgeous dresses.

"Okay so what do you want, short and puffy or long and flowy?" Josephine asks as she goes through the different dresses.

"I was thinking short and flowy." I reply and she nods as she grabs a dress.

"This one is the perfect one then." She responds as she shows me a short burgundy. It was short in front and a little longer in the back and flowy.

"It's beautiful." I state as I stare at the dress in awe.

"And I have the perfect pair of heels that will go with that particular dress. Wait right here I'll be right back." She informs before walking off further into the room.

I look through the dress until Josephine comes back with a golden colored box in hands. She opens it up to reveal a pair of black heels.

"Thank you." I state as I give her a grateful smile.

"Alright, now you go change in their and then we will work on your hair and makeup." She replies and my face falls as I immediately shake my head.

"No, it's okay. I can do my hair and makeup, I don't want to go wasting Adrian's money on things I can do by myself. Not that I don't think you're bad at it, but I really don't want Adrian to spend more money then he already has." I reply causing her to laugh.

"Nonsense child, this is all on the house." She answers. What is it with rich people and wasting their money on everything and anything?

"No, I-I can't. You've alrea-"

"It's alright, now go change and we'll get started on your hair and makeup." She orders and I nod before heading into the changing room.

I walk into the changing room and strip out of my clothes before putting in the gorgeous dress and heels. Once I am done I walk outside and Josephine leads me upstairs. There were hairstylist working on other women's hair and Josephine sat me down at one of the vanities. She brushed my hair before working her magic.

"All done." Josephine stated as she set down the make up brush and turned my chair so I could see myself through the mirror.

My hair was placed into a messy but elegant chignon and my makeup had a natural look to it with a hint of sexiness. The burgundy lipstick matched the dress and really complimented my skin.

"I-I look good." I reply as I turn around to face Josephine. "Thank you."

"That's what I am here for." She answers. "Now let's go show your fiancé your new look."

We walk down the glass spiral staircase and I find Adrian now dressed in a black tux (when did he change) seated on one of the couches.

"She's ready." Josephine announces causing Adrian to stand up and turn around to face us.

"Jane y-you look stunning." He states as he looks me up and down. I didn't know if he was just saying it because Josephine was here or because he actually meant it. Either way the compliment caused my cheeks to blush.

Adrian linked our hands together and pecked my lips. "But you always look stunning."

"Alright, you love birds don't you have a dinner party to go to?" Josephine asks.

"How do you know?" Adrian asks.

"James mom came here earlier talking nonstop about it." Josephine answers.

Adrian nods before pulling out his wallet but Josephine tells him to put it away. We thank her once more before Adrian and I step into the chilly night. The black car came into view and Adrian held the door out for me. I walked in and Adrian followed.

"I really meant what I said back there, you do look stunning." Adrian states catching me off guard.

"Thank you." I reply with a shy smile. His words caused a tingly feeling on my chest that I couldn't explain. No! I can't be affected by his words. Adrian smiles back at me and I think it's the first time I've seen him smile at me for real.

***

"We're here sir." Darrel stated as the car came to a stop outside a tall brick building.

Adrian walked out first and he held out his hand for me and I gratefully took it. Why is he acting so nice all of a sudden? Not that I mind but still.

"I thought you said we were going to a restaurant?" I ask as we step into a huge and elegant ballroom.

"The host changed his mind." Adrian answered as he placed his hand on my lower back.

The decoration was beautiful and a small orchestra was playing in the stage.

"Adrian so glad you made it, and you must be Jane, it's so nice to finally meet you." An older looking version of James states as he greets us.

"It's nice to meet you too Mr. Donavan." I reply with a genuine smile.

"Adrian! Jane! It's nice to see you guys again." James states as he walks over to us.

"Hey James." Adrian and I greet.

"Jane look great." James compliments.

"Thank you." I answer as we start walking towards a table.

"Maybe when the contract is over you and I can hang out." James whispers only loud for me to hear.

"I heard that." Adrian growls.

James and I let out a soft laugh before I whisper, "Is he a werewolf or something?"

"I heard that too." Adrian answers.

"I'll be right back." James states before walking towards the bar.

"You know you said that you preferred werewolves over vampires, right? So what if I was a werewolf?" Adrian asks with a smirk.

"Then I would prefer hybrids." I reply causing him to frown and I laugh.

Suddenly Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran starts playing.

"Can I have this dance?" He asks and I nod.

"You may." I answer before Adrian leads us to the dance floor.

***

"I can't believe my dad took my private jet without my permission." Adrian whines causing me to giggle.

"Are you actually whining over a jet?" I snort as Adrian frowns.

"I don't whine." He defends and I roll my eyes.

"Sure." I reply as we walk over to the waiting area. "At least we get to fly in first class."

"But it's not the same as flying in private jet." Adrian replies.

I roll my eyes and shake my head while smiling. For some odd reason Adrian was adorable when he whined. Wait, did I just call Adrian adorable?! Ugh, get it together Jane!

"Mommy!" A boy's voice cried out.

Adrian and I turn to look a boy wondering around the room with tears staining his cheeks. Suddenly a sharp feeling of pain filled my chest and empathy downed on me. Without thinking I walked over to the child.

"Hey bud, what's wrong?" I ask as I kneeled down to his height.

"I-I can't find my mommy." He cries out.

My heart swelled as the little boy continued to cry. I dried up his tears with my gray sweater not carrying if it got wet.

"Don't cry we'll find her I promise." I state as I give the boy a reassuring smile.

"Jane what are you doing?" Adrian questioned.

"This little boy is lost." I answer as I stroke the boy's once more wet cheek.

"What's your name little guy." Adrian asks the little boy.

"Jeremy." He answers through sobs.

"Hey, don't cry. I think I have a lollipop, if you stop crying I'll give it to you." I state and the boy nods eagerly. I look through my bag and take out the lollipop I took from the hotel. "Here."

I hand the sweet to the boy and he plops it into his mouth.

"Is that from my hotel?" Adrian asks.

"Maybe." I reply as I stand up. "Come on bud let's go find your mom."

"Jane we can't leave our plane is about to be ca-"

"Passengers boarding for the United Airlines from New York to Miami please make your way to the boarding line." A voice announced.

"Come on Jane we have to go." Adrian states.

"No! I am not leaving this little boy right here." I reply.

"Jane we're going to miss our flight." Adrian hissed.

"I don't give fricking shizzle if we miss the plane. If you want you can leave but I am going to help this boy help his mother." I respond as I pick up the little boy and grab my bag and suit case before walking towards the help center.

"Jane!" Adrian called out but I continued walking. "Jane! Come back here!"

"What's your mommy's name sweetie?" I ask the boy completely ignoring Adrian's calls.

"Sandra." Jeremy answers as he licks his lollipop. God he was so adorable.

"You're the most stubborn women I've ever known." Adrian's voice states as he walks up to us with his suit case. "Here give me your suitcase."

I handed him my suitcase and he placed it on top of his before taking Jeremy from my arms. I smiled at him grateful that he did not leave.

We arrive at the help center and I knock before the door opens.

"How may I help you?" A male asks.

"We've got a little boy here who is lost." I answer.

"Ma'am is this your child." The male asks the other person in the room.

Suddenly a crying woman walks out of the room and cries out, "Jeremy!"

"Mommy!" The voice exclaims as he runs over to his mom once Adrian sets him on the ground.

"Oh my baby boy, thank you! Thank you so much." The lady thanked as she held her child tightly.

"No problem, we just missed our plane trying to find yo-"

I jab Adrian in the stomach to shut him up and answer, "It was no problem at all. I'm just glad that this little guy is safe."

I smile over at the grinning little boy who smiles back at me.

"Yeah, glad we could help." Adrian replies. "Now maybe if we run fast enough we can catch our plane."

"Shit! Our plane!" I exclaim as I grab my suitcase and we start running towards the boarding cart. "Bye Jeremy!"

Adrian and I make it just in time before the doors close. The flight attendant opened the door for us and we thanked her before boarding the plane.

"I can't believe we almost missed our plane." Adrian states.

"Hey, at least that little boy found his mother. And even if we had missed our plane I'm just glad we were able to help." I reply as we take a seat.

"You really are something Jane." Adrian mumbles but I heard him. I gave him a small smile and he smiled back.
