《Authority [Dropped]》Chapter 5

Chapter 5: Latter (5).
In the morning, the wind gently blew across the entirety of the forest. The wind that demonstrated its free nature glided atop the trees among the forest. Like a mother caressing her new born baby, drops of morning dew dropped from a leaf unto a sleeping Imp's face.
Splat* Titus who felt a wet feeling on his face awoke from his slumber. With a yawn, he stretched his limbs out while one of his hands is rubbing his drowsy eyes. Now that Titus was fully awake, he climbed out from his makeshift hammock that he made from one of the leaves he used to get water and from a vine that he left out yesterday.
Titus was really tired from yesterday's events and he actually slept like a log. The place where Titus slept is relatively safe. Currently, Titus was midway of a tree and just hanged the hammock he made at a little stub of branch. Fortunate enough, the small branch was able to bear the stacked weight of Titus and the hammock but of course Titus was not dumb enough in the first place to just randomly crash on his hammock without checking if the branch was secure.
Titus was just down stream from where yesterday's events happened. As to why, Titus thought that it was better to go to the separate direction instead of going upstream which if, worst case scenario, a human had stumbled upon his doing will choose to go upstream as the human will think that the piece of work that Titus did was from a fellow human which by nature was not wrong considering he was 'formerly' one but things aside currently he was an Imp. On the other hand Titus was not afraid of having small creatures like him disturbing him especially snakes but snakes are more active during early in the mornings rather than the night as snakes need to rest to, even though snakes here are monsters Titus thought that there is no difference between the two.

Now that Titus got a good night sleep his aching limbs from yesterday were now almost healed and only feel a slight pain when he moves. Speaking of why he tied the dog and made an effort in dragging it into the river, Titus thought of fishing, that's all. Titus was trying to see if there is something underneath the water and will eat the 'bait' sautéd with blood and germs. If there is then, f*ck, as Titus would not be able to cross the river when the time he needs to just by swimming.
Now that it's early in the morning the snakes are bound to wake up soon so Titus got down from his tree. He then proceeded to go upstream but was sticking close to the trees and he can easily run for his life or specifically 'climb' for his life from tree to tree in case some monsters that was attracted by the smell of blood was still lingering at the 'crime' scene.
When Titus arrived, his already vigilant self heightened his senses as he first scouted the area. Making sure that there are no mishaps from the area Titus then started planning for his escape if, worst case scenario, there is some 'bastard' creature lying in wait for God who knows where.
Thankfully all of it was just in Titus' head and there is actually none lying in ambush. Titus followed the 'line' he created using the Vines he connected which was now loose completely different from yesterday where it was tight, clearly the weight it was bearing was gone, Titus suspected and saw the dead rabid dogs body was gone confirming his initial guess. At the very end of the tip on where he tied the dead rabid dogs body he saw the Vines, it was torn forcefully of what he guessed the 'fish' that he, the fisherman, wanted to catch or in this case confirm its presence. At least Titus' decision was correct in not going into the water or else he might have died yesterday.

Shaking his head, Titus went back to the he tree where he tied the Vines and with the use of his claws started tearing it apart out from the tree the same thing he did to the make shift hammock after he woke up. After the Vines snapped from Titus' constant scratching he pushed the Vines to the river and watched as the Vines drowned in the gentle current of the river.
Finally done with all of his business here, at the river, Titus walked a little bit upstream and started heading in a 60° degree angle from the river's parallel. Titus was strolling through the woods casually and was stretching out his limbs to make a feel of his overall change from yesterday's level up.
Apart from the little fatigue that remained, he can now feel that his body was much 'lighter' he must say. He continued feeling the changes in his body to boost his ego when suddenly he got an idea. Titus quickly climbed a nearby tree and found a sturdy vine nearby. He then started leering through his path upfront and started to make calculations and noted on where the Vines are.
With an inward shout, as he was not dumb to actually shout and attract monsters and besides he still could not speak apparently and only 'hooing' noises came out as he noticed when he tried to talk out lout after yawning this morning; as oblivious as he is yesterday, and grabbed unto the vine firmly then he jumped.
Titus was swinging from tree to tree just like what he thought and actually looked like 'T*rzan' as he skillfully maneuvered though the forest with double the speed of his former walking pace. Although it was Titus' first time doing this from the while of his two lifetimes including this one, he still succeeded nonetheless. Titus was a bit skeptical but just shrugged it off, 'as he was an Imp so why can't he?' Titus just visualized and searched through his memories of references he can use along with his own theories to make it work. What more?
However Titus was not able to keep his skeptical self much longer as he saw a smoke from a distance. Although it deviated his path a bit, nonetheless, Titus was just roaming around aimlessly to begin with and was just exploring his new' home' and familiarizing himself with the environment as it was deemed crucial from yesterday's battle. Also, Titus thought of this encounter as a chance to meet if there really is 'human' civilization or even humanoid ones in this world as from the moment he knew that he was an Imp and the world has level and can trigger evolution and etc. He already resolved himself to go back to his former, a human, or at least a humanoid as it was the closest thing he could think of with his base form of an Imp.
Without hesitation Titus sped through the forest even more as he was quickly approaching the source of the smoke.
