《Guns in another world》Resolve XII

1 day later.
"Are you ready to go?" Keith asked, looking at Fionn, who just entered his study.
Keith's study was similar to Oliver's, in that it was not overly lavish and large, with a carefully selected collection of books. It had a cozy feel to it.
After meeting Rebecca that day at Floyd's mansion, Fionn followed her back to her home due to her persistent request. And he'd been freeloading here since that day, waiting for his meeting with the director.
"Yeah, I'm ready," Fionn replied.
"So, are you still adamant about not joining the academy?" Keith inquired, a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
"I'm afraid I don't want to. The morals of the academy's director disgust me "Fionn responded flatly.
Keith sighed in disappointment as he heard Fionn's words and said solemnly, "I've been a friend of your grandfather since we were young." Our bond, tempered by countless battles and hardships, is stronger than that of blood brothers. I've watched you and Gin grow up in front of my eyes, and I love you both as much as any of my other blood relatives. Today, I'd like to know if you have the same feelings for me.
"I do," Fionn replied, perplexed by the abrupt change in topic.
"Then would you be able to fulfil one of my simple requests?" Keith inquired.
"I can. Tell me what you want me to do." Fionn responded, feeling helpless in the face of Keith's shameless move.
Keith smiled as he noticed Fionn's bitter expression and stated "The request is not unreasonable. As I mentioned yesterday, the person present on the day of your exam was not the academy's director, but rather one of his clones. What I want you to do today is to listen to what the actual director has to say without any prejudice or bias."

"I'll do my best," Fionn replied, his face unwilling.
"Let's go then," Keith said cheerfully as he rose from his seat.
Fionn let out a sigh and followed Keith out of the study. Keith's study may give the impression that he dislikes luxury, but this couldn't be further from the truth. His mansion's luxury was several levels above Floyd's. The space inside Keith's mansion could rival a small town, thanks to a plethora of spatial compression arrrays. Despite spending a day in Keith's mansion, Fionn had no idea how many floors and rooms it had. The mansion was nothing short of a maze. Unlike Floyd's mansion, which feels a little lonely with only Jaxson staying there the majority of the time, Keith's mansion was like a bustling market with servants, family members, and apprentices moving around all the time.
Fionn, who was following Keith, began walking upstairs through the mansion's main stairway. "Why are we going above?" Fionn asked Keith, confused.
"You'll know soon enough, just follow me quietly," Keith replied.
As they walked up the stairway, anyone passing by bowed respectfully to Keith and cast a curious glance at Fionn, noticing a unfamiliar face.
Passing through several floors they soon arrived on the tenth floor. This floor was enormous, with plenty of space and a high ceiling. The security was extremely tight, with armoured guards stationed throughout. With Keith leading the way, Fionn breezed through every security check and arrived in front of a massive door.
"Open the door," Keith said authoritatively to the elderly couple guarding the door.
Hearing Keith's command, the couple nodded respectfully and opened the door. They both grabbed a door handle and pushed it while inserting their mana into it. As the door slowly opened, sounds of livers moving and runes being activated could be heard. The gaurds' expressions suggested that the simple task of pushing open this door was quite hard.

The door eventually swung open completely. "Come," Keith said as he led the way into the room. Fionn followed him in and entered the room as well. The gaurds slammed the door shut behind him. When Fionn entered the room, he was taken aback by what he saw. "Is this your void chamber!?" he asked, shocked by the familiar obelisk in front of him.
"No, it's not my real void chamber; rather a replica," Keith responded with a smile.
"Can even a Void Gate be recreated?" Fionn asked with interest.
"With enough knowledge and wealth, anything is possible," Keith boasted.
" What now? Are we going to use this to teleport to the director's office?" Fionn inquired.
"Something like that" Keith said with a grin as he walked towards the void gate.
"This is going to be costly; our director is truly despicable a individual; why does he have to live in such a distant plane? He is not at all considerate about his colleagues. Floyd, that idiot, must be gloating right now "Keith complaint quietly while walking.

Forbidden Destiny
Two troubled teens, raised as siblings, try fighting their attraction to one another, while struggling to uncover the truly unexplainable and unimaginable reasons why their entire lives were a lie. Sky and Star were raised as brother and sister. As they got older they began to realize that there was much about them that was completely unexplainable and deliberately being hidden from them. Struggling with the feelings they were raised to believe they shouldn't have for one another, and all the pain that causes them, the two search desperately to uncover the truth about who... or what they really are. (This book is completed, so the plan was to post 1 chapter each day until the end) *This story does deal with difficult issues such as suicide, abuse and rape. Though I try to do so in the most realistic, sensitive and sympathetic way possible. So be advised that these themes are included in the book. And I hope you'll give it a chance nonetheless.* *Yet another disclaimer: Yes, there are teenagers involved in consensual sexual relationships with other teenagers in this book. Which is also a more than common occurence in hundreds of other books, shows and films, (not to mention a common occurence in real life, even though this is a fantasy story with characters who may or may not even be fully human), so if you have a problem with troubled teens behaving like troubled teens, then you probably shouldn't read this book.*
