《Assassin God》Chapter 4

It has been few days since Vel started following Jotol and started to learn to be a blacksmith. But what Vel loved the most is he able to sleep with being haunted by those dead eyes.
“Come here Vel I’m going teach you how to forge” Jotol said over the roaring flame.
“What I’m going to teach you is my secret hammering technique and I want you to promise you will never teach it to anyone except your own disciple in the future” Jotol said with a serious face.
“I promise” and Jotol began hammering but his movement began to look weird as the sound and sight of him hitting the metal were out of sync.
‘What going on’ Vel wondered as he felt his eyes were playing eyes on him. When the hammer was at its highest came the sound of the metal being struck but when the sight of the mental struck no sound was emitted.
“When Jotol has finish forging the sword he directly looks at Vel and said “I call this the ‘Echo Hammering’ and as you can see it pretty advanced” he said holding up the sword dropping it in cooling liquid.
“I don’t think I could learn and perfectly copy it” Vel said.
“Of course you can’t only the creator can perfectly master it but you can master it and create your own” Jotol said when he handed Vel the hammer which weighs almost two hundred pounds.
“So heavy” Vel shout as he tried holding up the hammer.
“Of course, but you’re going to practice but let find a little hammer for you” Jotol laughed as he opened a cabinet door and rows of hammer came into view.
“Let have you start with fifty pounds and have you practice thousand times” Jotol said.
“Thousand times” Vel said as his assassination practice was considered early stage which mostly leaned toward knowledge.

“Of course they say ‘Practice makes perfect’ and no one ever perfect” Jotol said as he left to manage his store.
“Time to get started” Vel mumbled as he began to swing and the hammer felt it was getting heavier with every swing.
Hours later when Vel finished and lying in bed he entered his training field.
“Mission 2: Kill Gang leader Rick, Location: Rex Casino, Time Limit: 72 Hours”
“New mission” Vel was surprised when he saw this.
“Leigh what am I learning today” Vel asks when Leigh appears.
“Hmm… fatal vitals points” Leigh said as he brings up diagrams of the human bodies. Leigh went on to show what happens when striking the point.
‘This is so nasty’ Vel looked pale as he watched and knew he had to get over it as he knew he sees worst in the future.
After Leigh finished speaking Vel began to practice and learning pressure point which could be used to gather information.
As he was practicing he was also thinking about how to kill his target as he is the crime lord of the city and it would cause an uproar when he dies.
“Focus” Leigh said as he watched Vel thinking of other things.
“Yes” Vel said as he solely focuses on training.
After Vel woke up in the morning he told Jotol he had to go out and take care of some business. When Jotol saw him leave he was wondering what he had to do but decided that none of his business and went back to forging.
Vel walks around and soon arrived at the casino which was located in the red light district but in this town almost everywhere could be considered part of it.
“Hello little boy if you got some money I teach you something good” a prostitute said.

“I pass on that” Vel said as Leigh been teaching him things he never heard of such as atoms, bacteria, and virus.
Vel went on his way to the casino and he found an entrance perfect for entrance and escape plan.
“What can I help you with little boy” a man approached Vel when he noticed him focus on the building.
“Nothing but can I know who you are” Vel asked him since the man look to have money based on his clothing.
“My name is Rex and this my casino but may I know who you are” He said with a small laugh.
“My name is Sean and I was on my way to pick up my father” Vel lied so naturally.
“Well you best be on your way and come by my casino any time” Rex said walking into his casino.
“You best stay away from him” an old man said who approached Vel.
“Why do you say that” Vel acted cluelessly.
“He likes little boy more than anything else” the old man said before he walks away.
“Thanks for the warning” Vel shouted with a smile.
‘This information can come in handy later’ Vel said as he left to arrange some tools he going to need.
When it was getting late in the afternoon Vel return to the shop.
“Vel did you get your business completed” Jotol asks.
“No, I came back to tell you I’m staying out tonight and not to worry” Vel said as he picked up a change of clothes.
“Ok be careful” Jotol said but knew something was amiss but chose to ignore it.
Vel smiled and left heading to the casino after changing and hiding his knife up his sleeve.
‘Tonight is the night you die Rex’ Vel though with a cold smile as he arrives.

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
