《Netherwyrm god》24--- Devinn's new regime and the Arcane apprentices

On the platform of sacrifices, on top of the pyramid, a silver book was floating between Alwyn and the demonized Devinn. The silver tome was releasing a torrent of mana, faith, and other unknown source energies.
“It worked.” Said an elated Devinn.
“This proves that sacrificial magic can grant any wish as long as there are enough sacrifices. It took all of the remaining sacrifices just for a single book to appear.” Alwyn showed a thoughtful look.
“…It is written that this book is just an introduction to the arcane. It also says that it is impossible to delve into the variant magic systems that appear overtime because of special lifeforms and fusion between different magics.” Devinn said as he kept his eyes glued on the first page.
“We paid all those sacrifices for nothing then…” Alwyn was too tired to show anger at this point.
“Not at all. We now know that all those sacrifices go somewhere and that there is a receiver of the power we send. He even left us a note saying: I created the worlds of faith with the intention of amassing enough power to reach the peak of the arcane. I still am trying to get there. I left an automaton in the human Everworld to take care of all transactions between the worlds I created and me. You who receive this booklet of mine, I urge you to thread the path of the arcane as you will see for yourself that normal magic is nothing but a joke in front of the divine presence of a true dragon. All humans are weak no matter how you look at them, but threading the arcane bestows us a fighting chance. I left the human Everworld to adventure in every lost human world possible in search for a missing piece I desperately need. An unknown lifeform or singularity or magic. If I am successful I will finally be of help to the human Emperor in the coming last war against the True dragons. I bestow upon thee the title of arcane apprentice. Just like me. Because in the eyes of the unfathomable arcane we are nothing but apprentices in the face of its eternal magnificence. Erling.” Devinn read.
“It seems that we are not the only ones who are planning to slay a true dragon.” Alwyn said.
“And the human Everworld must have deep resources to plan such a thing.” Devinn added.
“We are now arcane apprentices… What does that even mean?”
“We could be considered one with what we keep doing. It says that the arcane is pursuing the source of all magic by merging all the magics you can get your hands on. There is a school of thought that believes that there is a kind of magic that allows for true unlimited uses without any losses or a defined boundary. The magic of a true everlasting god. Capable of anything.” Devinn explained.
Alwyn shrugged his shoulders: “Well, they are crazy…where is the difference between us and that Everlasting God?”
Devinn could not resist and read the whole book using his All-seeing eye. He thought for a moment and said: “The truth is that we can easily get to that level with time. All the Arcane apprentices do is try and merge many magics at once trying to mimic a magic that is polyvalent and unlimited in its applications. They all end up doing the same thing with a few minor differences. Also, they are not elementals. They do not fuse with mana but have abundant mana pools and use that mana to bend the elements to their will instead of being the element they control like elementals .”

“Which means that elementals are just another special lifeform that can use mana.” Alwyn said.
“An unknown lifeform at that. I didn’t see any mention whatsoever of an Elemental living in the human Everworld. And since those Arcane Apprentices used mana for a long time and no elemental appeared, our plan of creating elementals is now impossible.” Devinn said.
“What do you plan on doing now?” Alwyn asked.
Devinn gave the book to Alwyn and said: “I am going to create a hell for all those so called demons and Gods that torture innocent victims to create fear and the future evil doers that my emissary will catch. If we are to take over this world, better to eliminate such things first. After that, I will see if I can study the elementals inside the ring. If there is a magic that is polyvalent and unlimited in its uses, then the magic we will stream to our summoners is halfway close to it if not exactly it. We and Aragil are the only ones with the all-seeing power. Its usefulness does half the job by reading the user’s mind. The rest is stacking up the fire power. Easy. ”
Alwyn who had also finished to read the book said: ”Good. I see what you are trying to create. But…Will it be an object? Or a Human being?”
“I think that only us two will survive the human part. As for the rest, they will have to rely on an object just like Runa. ”
Devinn disappeared into the astral planes. He had to create a hell for his new tenants.
Alwyn turned to his people and decreed his new title as well as his new goal for all of them.
Devinn had delved deep into the astral planes and had created his own astral plane.
It looked like a tower if you miniaturized it. Each level grew smaller as you descended. A total of eighteen levels.
“I will make more if it gets crowded in the future.” He thought.
Next, he sneaked into the hells that the demons controlled and these same exact words were heard here and there: “What if you could become an undying demon under me? You would have enough power to punish anyone you want forever. The demons who put you here for example. What do you say?” Devinn said to each of his chosen.
No one refused him. Especially after they were turned into demons themselves and almost looked like Devinn.
Devinn had a nigh endless amount of fear that he could bestow. His true immortality was also bestowed at the same time. As long as he stayed alive, none of all the demons under him could die.
For Devinn, it was true immortality until someone of his level killed him. Someone like Alwyn.
For his demons, it was true immortality. Nothing could kill them.
Imagine the faces of the so-called demons and their emissaries of the astral planes, were attacked and turned into undying demons by Devinn’s henchmen. Because they too inherited that power from Devinn, it did not stop them to give their previous jailers better treatment. The appeal of torturing an undying prisoner was something that could not be missed. They had suffered for eons and wanted to take better care of their new prisoners.

In a few days, all the demons had simply disappeared into the new hell Devinn’s had built for them. They were all graced by the undying power of fear of Devinn. They could not die even if they wished for it.
Some of their former captives, if not all of them, begged Devinn to be turned as well as allowing them to torture those demons forever.
Devinn had anticipated such a reaction and was happy to increase the numbers of demons working for him.
News that all the demons had been imprisoned arrived at the astral God's ears. They were not happy to see their lifelong enemies being taken care of but what they wanted to know was the madman behind it.
Devinn appointed a few emissaries from his new recruits and sent them to spread the good news.
He even sent an army of them to meet the inhabitants of the world to inquire on some crimes that had gone unpunished. The evil doers were swiftly captured and brought to hell.
Fear was in the mind of every person who had ever done the slightest bad deed.
Kids were read the stories of the Demon of justice to scare them into being good people when they grew up.
As for the oppressed, if they did not find salvation with Alwyn they found it with Devinn.
On Alwyn’s side, he did the same thing. He gave an astral body to whomever he felt had the greatest faith.
His words of equality and freedom were heard loud and clear with all the good deeds he bestowed upon his believers.
He created a paradise as well.
Some Astral gods even joined him.
Before long there were only two Astral gods who ruled the world.
With all their tasks being handed down to their emissaries, Devinn and Alwyn had nothing more to do than to experiment.
“I succeeded in implanting the element of space inside my new body. I am now a space elemental just like you. My success was probably due to my soul having been in contact with yours all this time.” Devinn said.
“At least now we know that we can create a multi-elemental. How fast is it to make a successful implant of an element?” Alwyn asked.
“If your soul can tolerate it, with my method, it will be instantaneous. If you want to be the first to try, I will be happy to gain more experience so I do not kill myself when it is my turn.” Devinn said.
“Okay. Hurry up.” Said Alwyn who seemed to trust the mad genius in front of him.
Multiple elemental soul seeds appeared and disappeared inside Alwyn and started fusing with his soul.
“How do you feel?” Devinn asked.
“I can feel every element around me. This is… incredible…”Alwyn said.
“So it works…My turn then…” the same scene took place for Devinn.”
Alwyn said: “Looks like there was nothing to fear.”
“We do not have to worry about the return fare anymore. When the time polar element appears, I will use it as a sacrifice. You can choose the destination.” Devinn said.
Since he was a multi-elemental now, the time element was bound to appear at some point and turn him into a time traveler. The stronger a body was, the more the chances for the time element to appear. For normal cosmic gods like Kron, it was just a chance in a million to become a time traveler.
“Let’s make the human Everworld our last stop. We will also bring this world with us…” Alwyn said.
“Why?” Devinn asked.
“Runa is pregnant with triplets.” Alwyn said.
“I see.”
Years later.
A small violet draconian was running around trying to flap its tiny wings. The little guy was a human with a tail and wings as well as having a light violet complexion.
“Why is Dann trying to use his wings instead of his astral body?” Runa asked as she sat in Alwyn’s embrace.
“It feels more natural to him. Besides, you know that he sees that he is the only one with wings and is the strongest one while his other brothers are spiritually stronger. They always outwit him in games and it pisses him off. He leaves them alone and comes here to see if he can fly with his wings. He is still too small though.” Said a smiling Alwyn.
“Sigh…I used to be the only human here. Conrad inherited your third eye while Krynt spends his time asleep playing with his weird astral powers. Ever since your Brother Devinn found a way for you to transfer your powers to me, my skin had been slowly changing to violet.” Runa said.
“If you do not want them, he can slowly take them away. Besides, only you can become like us since you bore those three troublesome children, it would have taken just a decade for you to reach the cosmic god level. He just accelerated the process.” Alwyn said.
“At least, I won’t have to use this bracelet.” She said before she looked at the plain bracelet on her wrist.
“Keep it. It is the only object without a restraining automaton. We will trade it with the human emperor to gain a place to live in the human Everworld. I am sure that they will ask for more of them.” Said Alwyn.
“When do we set out?” She asked.
“Whenever Devinn’s time element flares up. It could take a moment or it could take years, even hundreds of years.” Alwyn said.
