《Netherwyrm god》11 - Netherwyrm God (part 1)

In a universe of the human alliance.

An invisible man, was seating on a casual chair. In front of him, space rippled and six circular screens were made from thin air. Several men and women in the midst of accomplishing several tasks could be seen through the screens. There were two women and four men. They immediately all stopped what they were doing and firmly fixed the screens that had appeared on their side.

The invisible man started showing his shape as the silhouette of his body was seen through the undulations he purposely emitted.

“Kron, what problem has forced you, of all people, to summon us. ” A man made of blue fire said.

“A bloodline weapon is about to ascend to the Cosmic level soon. I need additional help to keep those poor humans safe just in case.” A young voice came out of the silhouette.

They all inwardly sighed. Another Cosmic god would be a good addition to their strength as they were constantly attacked by the foreign alliances. Since it was not completely a human, there was no telling what the remnant bloodline will was capable of in the future. They could not take the chance and endanger humanity.

Seeing their gloomy faces, Kron said: “Do not worry about the recent attacks for now. Something new has appeared. Haha… you’ll never believe me when I tell you what the laziest subordinate of mine, a human exiled descendant and the bloodline weapon created under my nose. It is hilarious. We have spent eons trying to create it and that unbelievable trio managed to do it and none of them knows how they accomplished such a feat. hahaha” He was so happy that he could not stop laughing in front of his friends.

The six looked at their friend with surprise in their eyes. Some with mouths agape. They were not surprised because of the good news which they were curious about, but it was hearing the most serious and bloodthirsty person that never ‘showed’ any emotion laughing for the first time since they were young.

“Kron, do not tell me you are going crazy on us. We need you in good shape for the future.” Eliza, a woman made of cyan ice said.

“Eliza, I am damned for an eternity of carnage what have I got to lose from laughing once in a while.” Kron said while recovering from his laughter and then added: ” One of my exiled descendants will become a true Cosmic God soon and he hates me down to his bones. Hahaha… Can you imagine? I ‘ve been waiting for a kid of mine to reach the Cosmic god level for eons and it fell on an exiled one. We are going to have two Cosmic gods for one at that. Hahaha ” Kron said finding it hard to stop laughing.

The other six were worried that their most powerful friend had finally lost it. Maybe it was his first joke ever. In that case should they laugh along? What he said first was funny and the best good news they have heard in a while, but his last phrase made no sense. They did not know how to approach the situation, as almighty as they were.

A man made of light ultimately broke the silence and said in a calm voice:” Old Kron. Care to explain a bit?”

Kron finally stopped laughing.

“Lightless, let me show you. You will understand better that way. Fortunately, they are both chatting side by side as we speak.” Kron said as the entire room changed into a spherical screen in which you could see a part of a solar system. The screens and Kron were still there as if they were a part of that starry sky, but the main attraction was two human figures made of black violet.

It was Alwyn and Devinn chatting as they looked downward toward a dimming light on an inhabited planet. Surprisingly, he could still spy on them without Devinn noticing.

“You see the True elemental on the right, it is my exiled descendant, on his left is the new element.” He said before explaining everything he knew. All the information he shared was from his subordinate Leland and the spying he did while Devinn thought he was not there.

“Interesting. What are your plans for them?" Lightless asked.

“They do not trust me and they plan on stealing from us to reach the Cosmic level.” Kron said while holding his laughter.

“I say. Let them do it. We need more human Cosmic gods. Haha…They will be helping us out.” Silas, the happy blue fire clad man said.

“That young man is only twenty years old, let him have his fun for now. A potential new space element Cosmic God is too crucial to be leaked out. But it might be too late. Those bastards may try to kill him before he has the chance to ascend. Letting him roam free in our territories is a form of protection as well.” Celeste, a dark element cosmic God said.

“ Of course. I will never allow him to leave our territories(universes) before he becomes a Cosmic God. For now, I need one of you to pin down the bloodline weapon Cosmic God while I seal him safely.”Kron said.

“Ahem..” A man made of translucent crystal made himself the center of attention and said: ” Kron, I know you always have first pick since your are the only one among us who is a space element that can seal Cosmic gods among us. Can I keep this one? I just happen to have found a barren universe on my recent trip and would like your help in adding it to our territories.” He meant keeping the sealed cosmic god as a mana supply for his universe and having kron link said universe to their territories.

“Salazar, even I who can create universes cannot compare to your rhythm of expansion. How exactly do you find them so easily?” Kron helplessly asked.

They all knew Salazar’s hatred for the foreign alliances was deeper than theirs to the point that he never stopped trying to eradicate them. The new barren universes that he always came up with were his new conquests. Most of the time, his infamous reputation made his enemies just vacate the universes or he just purged them on his own until there were none left alive. He would then shamefully ask for a cosmic pool from the helpless Kron who could not refuse as humans still needed more space to expand. Kron himself needed an enormous amount of time to create a suitable universe for humans to live in.

The foreign alliances had a weird way of leveling up. They did not need to spend time to attune themselves with elements. It was a laughable matter to them. They did not need a mana pool that could automatically replenish itself, they absorbed the very mana itself in their bodies even before their birth until they reached the Cosmic level. Given enough time and mana, they were assured to reach the Cosmic level.

It was physical strength at its purest from birth to the last evolution. They also gained weird elements with weird properties without having to do anything. Those elements appeared at their equivalent of the True elemental level and they further evolved at the cosmic level.

Humans could only fight back when they reached the cosmic level only. But the number of human Cosmic gods that were not of the space element who found themselves trapped and sealed by the weird elements of the outsiders were too numerous for their already scarce number. The foreign races also needed cosmic pools to accomplish many tasks as well.

The futile attempt of humans to fight back was experimenting with themselves and find a way to create weird elements and more Cosmic gods to protect humanity. They were only born with the ability to commune with the generic elements (no fusion involved). The foreign races had no such thing as a generic element. For the foreign races, it changed after every evolution. They managed to imitate the foreigners by passing down their bloodlines, a pale imitation of a bloodline weapon, as well as making weird elements of theirs by fusing the elements at the True elemental level, but without an undying body and unlimited amount of mana to fight back at the Cosmic level they were always physically overwhelmed.

They gave their descendants and underlings, at the True elemental level, cosmic pools to protect universes long enough for Cosmic gods to appear, just in case a foreign race decided to invade. It could happen anytime as either side had the space element or a variant, for the foreign race.

Kron did not even need to contemplate the issue anymore and agreed: “Alright, come help me and it shall be counted as your compensation.”

They all turned a blind eye when it came to Salazar’s mad hate toward the foreign races as they knew that it was better to have him on their side. No one knew what drove the outsiders to hate humanity so much, but one thing was certain: either side wanted the other gone. Humans wanted to live, the others wanted them to disappear.

The human alliance only had Kron as their last lifeline, after the last space element Cosmic God, Markus, mysteriously disappeared. Fortunately, Markus’s apprentice, Kron, was a cosmic god of the space element as well. No one really knew what happened to Markus and his disappearance did not seem to be a surprise for the foreign races as well. Their seers had predicted his departure.

There were also no other sightings of humans anywhere else but the human alliance. No foreign race wanted to be in an alliance with the humans. It was as if they had all agreed to completely eradicate humanity.

“ Have you got any news of master Markus?” Wade a magma elemental Cosmic God asked.

Kron was silent for a moment then said:” Nothing at all. I’ve been scanning every known universe for millions of years, but mentor seems to have completely disappeared.”

“Last time we asked, you gave us the same answer, but we all know it is impossible. He is a space elemental Cosmic God, there is no way he can be captured by them.” Wade said with a hint of anger in his voice.

Markus was their mentor as well, except for Lightless who had just recently become a Cosmic God on his own after the disappearance of Markus.

“He always used to tell me that I would be his successor one day, but I always laughed it off as I knew it was impossible for us to even think of abandoning humanity to its sorry fate. Look at us we are on the lookout every second fearing an attack from those beasts, but when he was here, it was like nothing would keep him from being so carefree. He was so lax in his way of doing things and treated the other races so fairly, that I once suspected that he was not human at all. It seems he always knew he would disappear like he did. He did not even start a bloodline while he was here.” Kron reminisced.

“At least he stayed long enough to give us a fighting chance against them. If it was not his timely appearance humanity would have been wiped out in that war.” Salazar said.

“You fool. Do you not understand what we lost? He fought twenty-one alien Cosmic gods on his own, managed to capture them and had them become cosmic pools for the twenty new universes that he instantly created. All thirteen human Cosmic gods from before the war had been killed by the foreign races. Even Kron needs our help when he is against more than five Imperial Cosmic gods.” Eliza the variant ice elemental Cosmic god said.

Salazar’s crystallized face made a weird frown: “That is exactly why I said he gave us a fighting chance. I was his first student, I know him better than you all do. He did not hate the foreign races because he was not human. He is human. It is just that he could n…”

“The bloodline weapon has almost finished its evolution. Salazar, be prepared. I will shortly teleport you there. Everyone, we will have another chat later.” Said Kron after purposely cutting Salazar off. The screens disappeared and the undulations he emitted disappeared.

The projection of Alwyn and Devinn was still there. He looked at it before he teleported out of the room and arrived next to them in real time. It was as if nothing had changed from the earlier portrait.

Devinn could not even detect him as he was standing next to them looking at the same dimming light of blood and mana.

As he watched the planet with them, his mind drifted and he suddenly caught himself shivering as old memories ressurfaced.

“ Why do you seem to think that polar gods are only under the True elemental level? Every human is bound to be plagued by a polarity sooner or later. It is more like a mental affliction, it cannot be cured but slowly mended. Our bodies and souls will never know true harm and mana is only just fuel to everything we do. Even breathing for humans requires mana. Us gods who move throughout universes as if taking a stroll, see it as something casual because we reached a level that allows us to do so. Once a polarity occurs it is cause for celebration because it allows you to understand that you are still nothing but a simple frail human being in your heart. Your spirit, your character, the very essence of what makes you who you are is being unearthed during a polarity. You think that you become an elemental because the element you have a high affinity with chose you but it is a fatal mistake to think so. Your true element is what you truly are and it shows itself during a polarity. It is chosen by birth or it is chosen for you. Either way for us two it is more of a curse than any polarity out there.”

“Then, mentor. Why do we become True elementals and then Cosmic gods?” a young Kron asked.

“ Becoming a True elemental gains you the qualification to gain the polar element, but it is not a sure fact. Some Polar gods may appear before the True elemental level or just appear at the cosmic level. I however know for sure that us space elementals gain our polarity at the cosmic level because it requires an infinite amount of mana to be used...”

“Listen, you must protect your bloodline better and make sure that your descendants are all good in their hearts because if the polarity occurs in any one of them and they happen to harbor ill intentions against mankind or cannot show restraint, it is a huge problem to deal with. If I found you as short tempered as Salazar, I would have killed you instantly. I only stayed behind because I found that this backyard place had your bloodline but it had never been given the time to develop. Our bloodlines are the only reason they are afraid of us. Even humans themselves are afraid of what we can do when our polar element of time shows itself. Sometimes you will find that those monsters you cannot wait to kill are just like humans. When it is found that they practice the space element at birth, they instantly purge the entire bloodline. Humans often do the same as well. I was once the last of my bloodline but I no longer am…haha…’’

“Then what is the deal with the heart and spirit that you mentioned?” Kron asked.

“That is your polar element. It is you and can only be used with the spirit, feelings or heart. There is no specific way to explain how it works but some think of it as a curse because sometimes it really is, but for us space elementals, the polarity will almost never appear, so you do not have to worry about that... When you level up, it is to create a vessel for your polar element to roam free in. That is the main goal of us gaining strength. When Gods become Polar gods they will understand that it will never be possible to control their polar element. It does whatever you want or is driven by your repressed feelings. You cannot put a muzzle on it. Look at me for example, over the years, I have let go of my worries and live freely. It is your state of mind that controls it. That is the reason I am looking after you and the others. It is the goal I gave myself because of my personality and because I can relate to your bloodline and the humans around here. When I have accomplished what I am here for, I will have to go. We may even see each other again in the future.”

“Master. Are there other levels above the cosmic level then?” Kron asked.

“Of course not. Stop thinking that I am lying to you. You always ask the same question hoping to gain a different answer. The reason I am this strong is because I have grown to gain some mastery over my polar element. That is it…haha…It is the level you reach after mastering your polar element completely. But to get there, you must be something akin to an automaton. You will no longer have any emotions, feelings or painful and joyous memories for the polar element to exploit. Some other lifeforms are capable of such a thing. I’ll keep my eye open if I ever meet something above the Cosmic level. It is my new goal now. I’ll come back and report to you if I survive the encounter…hahaha…I’ll get to see what kind of Cosmic gods the snotty brats that I raised have become …hahaha.”

Markus’s laughter still echoed in Kron’s memories.

“How do you know that I will become a Cosmic God?” Kron asked.

“With me as your mentor, how can it not happen? And do you think that if you keep asking questions you will be exempt from training?”

Kron immediately teleported away but instantly reappeared where he was as if nothing had happened.

“Are you really trying to skip training by running away in front of me?”

“Master I am sorry, but let me go this time. I have a date.” Kron pleaded Markus to let him go.

“What did I say about girlfriends and boyfriends to all of you? Not before you reach the cosmic level.”

“Now teleport all your classmates back here. The class is about to start.”

Kron’s surprised himself smiling for the second time that day. He was thinking that the Nethewryrm Cosmic God that was about to finish its evolution before him had better give him a good fight.

He could not help but feel sad for his master’s disappearance.

“ Master we will soon be needing your help. These beasts keep getting stronger and faster. Even with the hundreds of cosmic pools you created before leaving, we may soon be annihilated. I am safe, but I cannot say the same for everybody. Fortunately, a long lost descendant of mine will soon make it to our level. He yearns for freedom just like you.”

“The lifeform you have always wanted to create was miraculously found on him. Haha…if you knew what kind of cosmic luck it took to make your dream happen, you would laugh for eons. I hope time doesn’t bother you as much as it used to, but knowing you, you should be fine somewhere… I just do not know when.”

All the mana was finally absorbed and the huge river of scintillating blood shaped itself into a huge ball. Almost like a moon.

The sphere of blood started collapsing upon itself. It became smaller and smaller until it looked like a closed human sized horizontal red eyeball.

Shortly after, a little white fire eight inches long engulfed the eyeball that turned stark white instantly. The little snow-white fire intensely burned in a way that even the mana around escaped it. Everything it burned was purified of its existence in the little space it occupied except the now white eyeball.

Slowly, the fire expanded from the eight inches to six foot. A humanoid outline started taking shape.

“I guess we know who made it out now. Poor Sebastian, all his efforts went down the drain along time ago. It seems that the bloodline had chosen its new wielder a long time ago.” Devinn shared.

“What is the deal with the eye?” Alwyn asked.

“It represents the bloodline will. Lucius will have no access to it other than creating a body with the variant power he acquired. It will look like a three eyed Cosmic God. I am disappointed though. I thought that Jonas had a better chance of winning against Lucius in the takeover, if it wasn’t the pitiful Sebastian.” Devinn said.

Alwyn contemplated for a moment and said:” Both of them have been studying this bloodline for a long time and are good friends in. I wouldn’t be surprised if they usurped the bloodline for another time by working together.”

“Haha. Sorry... such a thing is completely imposs….” Before Devinn could finish something strange happened….

The closed white eye opened to reveal nothing more the than a blank white eyeball. It left Lucius’s new body that still had its two eyes closed. The moment the white eye left and started levitating next to Lucius, the latter opened his eyes to reveal a faint white retina.

Lucius then puzzlingly looked at the eye next to him. He was apparently hoping for something to happen.

They eye seemed to struggle and then exploded in a weird white translucent element that slowly took shape of a body.

A weird laugh came out of the white element before it had fully formed a human shape.

Slowly, features of a man that Alwyn knew of appeared.

It was an uproariously laughing Jonas.

“ And they really did steal it again. For once, I was right about something. haha…Your plan was thwarted by the only two schemers I know…hahaha” Alwyn held his stomach as he laughed before the angry Devinn who rebuked him:” Idiot. How are we going to run now?”

Kron’s mind was reeling as he looked at the laughing Jonas.

He was thinking:” Master, a second one has appeared.”
