《Two Brothers》01: Singularity (REWRITE)

" The Orc and it's variants are a fierce adversary, some cultures think they are not more than mere beast that walk on two legs, this is far from the truth. they posses intelligence far beyond what they are accredited for, the have ability to build settlements and create tools, their ambush tactics have costed the lives of thousands though history, and their warriors face fear with courage and pure brutality, it is a common saying "never face an orc in his own territory, for one you see there are ten more hiding" but for me the most accurate saying about them is "Never corner an Orc, because when faced with certain death they will rip and tear their way out or die trying"
- Arguls The Great speech to new recruits during basic training. Transcribed. Year 187 of the New Age
The pebbles that covered the dirt road that lead to the homestead where being launched by the tires and bounced off the bottom of the truck creating an arithmic and echoing sound inside the cabin. Two man where siting while looking at the dark road, pitch black on the sides only illuminated a few feet in front by the headlights, the smoke of a cigarette raised in a line slowly before dissipating by the air current created by an open window in the back seat.
Both men knew it was a long drive, but none of them spoke since they had nothing to say, if you did not knew them well you could interpret their faces as if they where angry but that was just their normal face.
After a sharp turn the headlights illuminated the outline of what seemed a two story farm, the truck pulled over inside the garage and both men started to unload the trunk from their construction tools

"Did Manuel told you how many days off do we have?"
A man with a long beard that had wood shavings suck in it spoke, his voce was deep and it fit his character making him look even meaner than before.
"The rest of the week, the house we are suppose to do next is still being treated for termites. it will take another few days"
the younger man said after putting a table saw on the work bench that was situated against the wall of the garage. They both kept working without saying a word yet their movement where coordinated and they did not need to speak to make each other understand when and when they did not need help, it was almost a dance.
"we will have to make a grocery run tomorrow early, only thing we have left is instant noodles and some beef jerky" said the man with the beard after finishing with the trunk of the truck.
the younger man whistled and from the darkness a panting dog entered trough the garage door that was closing. It was a big black Doberman, his fur blended well with the darkness that surrounded the house, after being petted in the head by the man the three of them opened the side entrance and walked inside the house.
The door behind them closed depriving them of the light from the garage, everything seemed normal for a second but the three had a bad feeling creeping up their spine. the dog started to growl lightly.
"turn on the lights Jack"
said the younger man while reaching for his pocket folding knife
"the light switch is not there"
said the man with the beard while taking out his phone and turning on the flash light only to let it drop from the surprise, he picked it up swiftly and illuminated their surroundings.

They where not in the middle of the hallway that connected the garage to the living room, instead they where standing on grass. a slow breeze hit them and they started to hear crickets singing around them. they looked up and saw a sky, full of stars, with not a single constellation they could identify.

Both men where perplexed and blinked repeated times trying to understand how it was possible what was in front of their eyes. a blue screen not bigger than a cellphone was floating in front of them before slowly fading away.
"Did you see it?" said Jack but did not got an answer
"BRANDON! did you see it ?!" Almost screaming jack illuminated his brother with his makeshift flash light to get his attention
"Y... Yes... [welcome travelers]?" said Brandon with a face expression that denoted confusion.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" exclamed Jack while turning around like looking for something or someone
they did not paid attention to the dog who was getting more and more restless, just as confused as they both where.
Scan initiated...
"Yo we goota get the fuck out of here" before Brandon could be true to his word he froze in place, his body not responding to his commands paralyzed, luckily he was in a steady position or he could have fallen on top of the picket knife he was holding in his hand.
Not yet restless one... bare with me for a second will you?
"i cant move man, what is going on?" said Jack while pushing himself with all his strength, a few veins started to pop on his neck and forehead while his face was starting to turn red.
Scan complete ...
they both got released from their paralisis imediatly as the screen poped up, all the comands their body was not able to fullfill untill now seemed to take over their bodys in a split second and they both fell to the ground, Jack did a small jump and then bent over landing on his tailbone while Brandon tripped over his feet and went face down almost impaling himself with his own blade, missing only by a few inches.
while the older brother was groaning in pain while massaging his lower back the younger one was spitting grass and dirt that got in to his mouth, the dog ran back and forth barking and jumping like if a crab had taken hold of his fur and was squeezing him tightly.

Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.
