Chapter 3 Chapter 3 "Ehe." This planet is amazing. Games, anime and advanced technology, I am fond of those things. By the way, this planet does not produce Mana like the other worlds. Instead, it has energy called Ki, a natural energy came from the world itself. At first, I was panicking, due to lack of Mana. So you could imagine my expression when I didn't sense a Mana from the world. Well, I did go to the world where mana doesn't exist. That world is a typical wuxia world! When I was in that world, I am not adept with ki, so as expected, I took some time before I got used to it. An ordinary human cannot sense ki without talent. Without a certain degree of perceptions, you cannot sense ki. There is also a route for ordinary people to sense ki, that was to find a Master who practiced it. A Master can guide his apprentice even his perceptions were ordinary. This life is my 150th reincarnation. The chain that sealed my soul was on the verge of breaking. I estimated that I only needed one reincarnation to break the seal. While I am deep in thought. I notice Philia took the route we usually used for shortcuts. "Kyaa." "Sigh" I took a long breath and walk in her direction, a man holding a BC-41 was running towards us, the fuck are you serious!? That type of weapon was rare. Used during World War 2 by the British commandos for close combat and in ambush situations. The BC-41 is a rare fighting knife. This weapon was designed by Charles Clements and made in Sheffield England. The clip point blade attached to the knuckle guard a material called Bakelite. Grips the primary 4-1/4 inch edge of the 4-3/4 inch exposed part of the blade when holding it. The knife is a measure to be four inches, the knuckle part measures four inches at the widest point. It fits in a smaller hand and considered to be one of the best dates. "Fumu, Interesting." --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Mu." The girl pouted as she looks at boy figure. The boy took a book from his bag, reading it while walking on their way to school. Looking at the same scenery for almost 16 years, Philia turns and waved at Gabriel. "Gabriel, let's take the usual shortcuts. " Philia said. The boy wants to stop the girl but. "Kyaa" It is already too late, as she has already gone to the alleyway, a man was running at full speed toward her. The girl noticed the man was holding a knife, so her face was pale. Fear appeared on her face as she was stuck to the ground. The man wore a cap and dirty jacket, as his saliva was spilling on his mouth. The man's eyes were reds as if in a frenzy. Looking at his speed, his physique was comparable to an athlete. The man leaps towards Philia and pointed his knife. As the gap between her and the frenzy guy getting closer, her legs became weak and fell to the ground. Her tears flowed down her cheek as the knife descended towards her. Is this the end? I should have confessed to him. The girl thought. She closed her eyes as she waited for her death. Behind the scene, Gabriel looks at the man with his cold eyes. His distance was around 10 meters far from them, so an ordinary human can only watch from afar helpless. But, Gabriel was not an ordinary human. With his speed comparable to the speed of sound, he appeared in front of her in an instant. Gabriel broke the man wrist and kick him on his waist. As the man flies five meters away, then crash on the garbage container with his body. He looks at the unconscious man and scanned him with his spiritual sense. As he scanned the man's body, he noticed that he was still alive. The man was breathing harder than usual. So he decided to look for his blood stream and saw the drugs contaminated his body. "Sigh, a soldier influenced by a drug." "gg.Gabriel, what happens?" The fight was resolved in a matter of second. So Philia who closed her eyes didn't realize what happened. A worried look appeared on Gabriel's face. "Are you okay?" Gabriel wipes her tears and comforted her. "Sigh, Why do you always cry?" "Well, the man was holding the knife, so you know." The girl said. "That was your imagination. Look, did you see a knife anywhere?" The girl was confused. The man was standing in front of her with a knife a while ago, so she asks herself. 'What happened, is it imagination?' "Well, it's fine now, so don't cry." The two left the alleyways. After a few minutes, they arrive at their school gate. Gabriel looks at Philia and said. "Philia, you go first, I forget to buy something. See you later." Gabriel didn't wait for her response, as he already runs towards the alleyways. "Tck."

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.

The Twelve
In a world marred by the supernatural, Japan suffers from its own fair share of evil and demonic disasters, with generations of shamans known as Onmyoji protecting their homeland from these forces of evil. Capable of wielding magic and using spirits of their own, these shamans were not only skilled in battle, but also divination. However, they were unable to correctly predict Japan's loss in World War Two, and suffered the punishments that followed. Persecuted and torn apart by infighting, the Onmyoji reunited under the banner of the Tsuchimikado clan, descendants of Abe no Seimei, one of the greatest Onmyoji to ever live. The Onmyoji began to rebuild and to regrow. Ren is the sole heir to the Tsuchimikado family, but has been unable to practice Onmyodo ever since his birth, even though he possesses the greatest ability in the family. But when disaster befalls his family, Ren has nobody to turn to, and no idea how to use his powers. As he journeys to escape the same fate his family faced and attempts to learn how to use his powers, there is only one question on his mind; as the Tsuchimikado heir, how can he save the Onmyoji... from themselves? ---------------------------------------------- note from author: I'm writing this based loosely on the very real theories of Onmyodo, and so my writing may not be a truthful or accurate depiction of Onmyodo or other related areas, such as religion, for instance. That is why, while depicted in the real world, events that happen may seem unrealistic and it may be easier to imagine it as a parallel universe that is the same as ours, but with slight differences so that my possible errors will be easier to overlook. Sorry, and thanks!
