Re: Ascension Rebirth – It can’t be helped, I’ll assist you for my sake
Chapter XIII
PART ONE
[Eternum Calendar - Year 989]
“Locating the [Divine Artefact: Gladsheim]!”
[Gladsheim].
Upon hearing that word my ears widen and my entire existence came to a grinding halt. My though processes were ceased and it was though I entered a state akin to death, but not really dead. The only thing to remind me that I was alive was the sound of my heavily beating heart. Cold sweat ran past down my neck and into my back.
“Lord Morgant?”
[Aura] calls out to me after seeing me freeze up all of a sudden, but I couldn’t register her voice or rather I didn’t care to. Right now my mental processes were all hijacked in trying to comprehend [Cedric’s] words. No, it wasn’t as though I didn’t understand what he was telling me, just that something else popped into my head as he said it.
“[Gladsheim]… you say?”
I gulped and asked to make sure I heard correctly. If we’re talking about [Gladsheim] there was something that came to my mind; in my previous world I directed a team to work on a little project called [Project: Gladsheim]. It was supposed to be a mass storage data cloud for everything; integrating all known technology and information into a single hub.
No, let’s calm down. It can’t be the same thing we’re talking about; impossible. After all this place isn’t even Earth, so there’s no way it was possible. Right, it could simply be another reference to my old world like the time I found the [Necronomicon].
Right, that sounded much more plausible.
“That’s right, Lord Astaroth has tasked us with retrieving it if we can, as it would be fatal if it fell into the wrong hands after all.”
“Wrong hands? What do you mean by that?”
“What, you didn’t know? There is an infamous anti-demon organization known as the [Crimson Knights]. If they were to get their hands on [Gladsheim]… it’s obvious what they’d do with it, right?”
The Crimson Knight Organization, that reminds me, the ex-duke [Vista Calros] also part of such an organization. Truthfully, as Cedric says, if that organization is truly filled with people like the ex-duke but with more ambition and less stupidity, it would really be troublesome if they got their hands on it.
However… the same could be said for the demon army, though I’m technically allied with them, that doesn’t mean I won’t view them with scrutiny. In my previous world naiveté and blind trust would only get you a dagger to the back, so then it only makes sense for me to have much more caution in a world where there is actual, literal threat.
“How can you be sure that the demons won’t abuse them… say for example, you guys used it against the Crimson Knights. After all, at this point the only ones who distrust the demon race are the Crimson knights, with them gone you could easily get into position for dastardly schemes of your own.”
“Lord Morgant?! To say such a thing-”
Aura tried to interject but Cedric stops her, it may have been a little unfair to compare the upstanding members of the demon army to the intolerant red radicals but until they can prove that they are different there’s no reason to trust the demons over the humans with such an important artefact.
“Aura, it’s fine. Morgant, I understand your caution and I think you’re taking this seriously in your own way, but aside from a few cough ups, the demon race are a generally well behaved bunch. So I implore you to give us the benefit of the doubt, we will show you that we are worthy of your trust.”

Seeing this Aura and [Elena] also bow.
“Please, Lord Morgant! We request your assistance!”
Cedric lowers his head. Honestly, he didn’t really need to, after all since it was [Astaroth’s] request I wasn’t going to turn it down. Also since [Gladsheim] does seem like it has some references to my previous world I did plan on checking it out with or without their permission.
“Stop this, I wasn’t going to turn down the request in the first place. I just wanted to know is all.”
“You have my thanks.”
Cedric answers.
“So then, what exactly is this [divine artefact]?”
I ask them. Aura and Elena turn to look at each other but shrug. Cedric also shakes his head and informs me that he wasn’t given too much information as to the specifics of what it could be, but he does offer a few theories. Those theories being, a weapon of mass destruction, a magical artefact that grants the wielder incomparable strength, a library of knowledge about the entire world, etc.
Well there was no way we could confirm it without actually seeing it for ourselves.
“So then, how do you plan on finding it? I mean you don’t even know what it looks like so…”
“Actually we’ve already located it.”
“What?”
Then how do they not know what it is? In the first place if they already found it then what’s the point of me coming along?
“Of course we haven’t actually seen the artefact specifically, we just know where it is being stored.”
“I see, then I’m going to hazard a guess that there’s a reason why you haven’t been able to make direct contact with it, and you think that reason is me.”
“Correct.”
As it turns out, about two months ago, Astaroth sent some soldiers down to investigate the location of the ‘divine artefact’, and therein lies the problem; the place that they located it was in a rather troublesome location.
It was the aquatic city known as [Lani’tar]. The inhabitants of the city were aptly named [Mermaids]. And yes it was those ‘mermaids’, the half-fish, half-human kind; the tail of a fish the torso of a maiden. Of course that being said the actually city wasn’t completely submerged in water, only parts of it, the majority of the structures were in a pocket of air created by magic.
The [mermaids] were a beautiful aquatic race that lure men, usually resulting in a bad end for the men… is what the normal impression of [mermaids] would be but that was not the case here. They weren’t a solely aquatic race, they developed magic to turn their fishy half into legs so they may be able to traverse on land, however that was really about the only magic they knew, they excelled at physical combat, especially on the melee side.
If you ask me they were more akin to amazons instead of the graceful creatures of the sea that I knew them as. While this aspect of them made them a little bit more than troublesome to deal with, it wasn’t the worst part. The worst part was that they build a religion around the Gladsheim and worship it as some kind of all-powerful, all-knowing god-like entity. They’ve erected a shrine around it and employed a protector known as the [Terror of the Depths]; a super megalodon shark.
At first a small squad of homunculus soldiers were sent to establish contact with the artefact but they were wiped out in the process, the cause of which was unknown. So that’s where I come in, for negotiation purposes, or so that’s how I interpreted my involvement in the whole ordeal. Honestly this was a rather annoying request, simply because ‘religion’ was troublesome to deal with in terms of negotiations, most people wouldn’t want outsiders getting close with their object of worship after all.

“Well, I got the gist of it, so then where is Lani’tar located? Is it far from here?”
I asked.
“No, in fact it’s rather closer. It’s only three day’s worth of travel directly north from here.
Cedric answered with his soothing voice.
“Oh, how convenient.”
“It is, isn’t it? Hahaha.”
I guess I’ll have to make up some excuse for leaving town again, but with what happened with Lina yesterday I don’t know if she’ll accept me leaving so suddenly. Last time it was easy since we only just ran out of the house, but this time I have time to be prepared but that also means to explain the situation to my parents in a manner that they would understand.
Perhaps an excuse that would cater to my father’s knightly spirit would do.
“Cedric, I don’t mind tagging along with you but it is unlikely my parents would accept me leaving with strangers so suddenly.”
Cedric pauses to think about it before answering.
“Hmm~ would it be best if we told them the situation truthfully?”
“What? No, of course not. In the first place they don’t even know I have a connection to the demon army. I don’t like fooling them but I don’t want to cause them trouble so a little lie is inevitable. In any case I don’t see any other choice but to further fool them, for their own sake.”
“I see, though it is a little dishonorable, it is the command of Lord Astaroth, so then what shall we do?”
“For now I want you three to stay in this house for the next few days, during that time I want Cedric to have regular sparring matches with father. I want you to defeat him and prove to him you are a superior warrior.”
“I think I understand where you are coming from. You wish for me to ask your father to take you for training as thanks and if I had proved myself to be a strong and trustworthy warrior it wouldn’t be as suspicious.”
“You’re quite perceptive. Yes, that is the intent, using that excuse we can leave for Lani’tar.”
“A sound plan, then we shall leave in three days.”
PART TWO
Night had fallen and the two moons of this world shined brightly in the dark sky; the jewels of the night. I noticed Cedric was out on the veranda gazing up at them so I decided to join in.
“Morgant.”
He greeted me as I took a place next to him.
“Are slimes affected by the full moon?”
There are a lot of stories back in my previous world about full moons having a lot of mysterious impact on the denizens of the world bellow. With Cedric being of the [slime] race I thought that perhaps it might ring a little more truer in this world.
“That’s an odd question, no we are not. Why do you ask?”
“No reason, it’s just that I’ve heard many stories about how full moons affect some species.”
“I see, certainly there are races that are affected by the status of the moon, but I am not one of them.”
“That so?”
“That is so.”
I gazed at the moons with Cedric, it should be obvious but there are no electricity here so the only thing keeping the brightness at night were things like candles or torches… or the bright twin moons. The veranda that we were resting on had neither candles or torches, so the only source of light was from above. The moons’ light reflected off Cedric’s full armor in a glamorous fashion, truly bringing out the beauty of its craftsmanship.
“Do you have a dream?”
I asked abruptly, I don’t know what prompted me to, but I did. It was probably because of all the stress that’s been pent up within me lately. I’ve not gotten a chance to do a little more research about the method to return so my restless heart was quelled.
“A dream… huh. My only dream is to serve Lord Astaroth to the best of my ability.”
“Hah… hahaha~ I figured you’d say as much. That’s not really a dream but your fetish isn’t it? Well no matter, but I have a dream.”
“Ho~ do tell.”
“My dream is to reunite with a certain person, it’s a dream that I would sacrifice everything in order to achieve. A year, 2 years, 10 years, 20 years, I does not matter, I will do everything in my power to meet her again.”
“That dream, I hope it comes true.”
“Yeah…”
* * *
Three days had pass since Cedric and his party came to this town and over the course of his stay, he and father had sparred a couple of times, always resulting in Cedric’s victory. For one last time Cedric and father sparred but as expected this time too resulted in Cedric’s victory.
I could see in father’s face a bitter expression but also a hint of happiness that he was able to face an opponent so strong. However, thanks to Cedric’s efforts it was not time put our plan into motion.
“I think you for allowing us to lodge at your hose for the past few days. I’m not sure if it could be considered a thanks but I would like to take your son for special training.”
“Special Training?”
Father looked quizzically.
“Yes. I saw within him a potential to become strong and wish to hone his talents, of course with your permission.”
“Hmm, certainly Morgant has a much keener sense of combat than I did at his age, but special training eh? Incidentally how long do you plan on training him for?”
“For now I think about a month or two would be an optimal time frame. If in the future he truly wishes to hone his skills further I would be glad to take him under my wing as a proper student.”
In this world, studying under a great warrior is an honor, so Cedric’s proposition was actually something to be considered.
Father turned towards me with a slightly difficult face. Deep down he knew that this would serve as good experience for me, to journey and see much more of the world while training harder. Perhaps he had also noticed my frustration these past few days because I couldn’t leave this village and do what I really set out to accomplish.
“I’ll leave that decision up to my son, he’s still young but he has a good head on his shoulders. I’m sure he’ll make the correct decision.”
So the decision falls on me, well I do feel guilty about deceiving them but it couldn’t be helped. I’m thankful for father’s open-mindedness.
“I wish to go father. Truthfully these past few days I’ve felt a certain amount of frustration. I want to get stronger but the constant unchanging scenery of this village and its peace had my heart wavering. I feel like if I take a step outside this village I will find something more.”
Father placed his hand on my head.
“I see, so you’ve already made up your mind. Yes, you’re right, I have sense a growing anxiety from the way you’ve been practicing these days. It certainly may be true that this will help alleviate some of your stress. Then, do as you will and go become stronger. Make me proud.”
“Yes! Thank you father!”
As such the departure was a little delayed since we went along with that roundabout plan but I’ve secured father’s permission without worrying him too much. After I packed my bags and arrived at the entrance I was greeted by a rather unsatisfied Lina.
“Are you really leaving, young master?”
“Ah… sorry Lina.”
“It’s not really a problem… but for an entire month or two, it will be lonely without you, young master.”
Really, I’m truly sorry Lina. If I can I would make it up to you, but with the way it is now I don’t know what kind of face I will make when I really have to leave forever. Honestly even thinking about it is a little scary, but if I don’t take a step forward simply because I fear the consequences then I’ll never achieve what I truly want.
“Sorry Lina, I’ll make it up to you when I return.”
“Yes, you better promise me that, young master.”
“Of course.”
I replied with a smile.
"Oh~ Morgant is leaving!"
Mother came up to give me a full body hug. Since she was also holding Ada I was now in contact with Mother and Ada. Taking advantage of the situation, Lina also joined the fray.
"Nii!"
"You are all overreacting! It's only a month or two!"
I said trying to dissolve the situation, however it was to no avail, they reminded hugging me for a full ten minutes before father came to intervene.
“Okay, okay. That’s enough, Rio you’re being ridiculous, you too Lina.”
They both reflected on their actions after a scolding. Father crouched down and came face to face with me for one last time. He placed his hand on my head once more as a gesture of kindness.
“You have to remain strong, okay Morgant?”
“Yes father. The next time you see, you won’t even recognize me.”
“Haha! That’s my boy.”
“Then shall we leave?”
Cedric asked.
“Thank you for everything.” x2
Elena and Aura expressed their gratitude, with that once again I found myself on another journey brought on by the eccentric demon army. Still, as I was leaving the village I couldn’t help but get a nauseating feel… [Gladsheim], truly it can’t be what I was imagining.
But for some reason my heart will no quell. I just hope nothing major happens this time.
PART THREE
The [Ariadyne Tetrarchy], which was also known as the center continent was the focus of the entire world. [Lani’tar] was located just north from my hometown, in fact it really was just a straight line in an upwards direction. Specifically it was located in the sea between [Ariadyne] and [Vertloch].
It was a rather quick journey that I was kind of disappointed that nothing happened in between. There was no bandit raids, monster attacks or anything else interesting. I mean, even if those things did happen Cedric was a level 124 [Paladin]/[Slime king] so it was doubtful there was any real threat but still.
While it was a good thing and I should be grateful, but I couldn’t help but feel a little bored. Thus our leisurely stroll towards the underwater city made its end. We made it all the way to the top of the cliff overseeing the ocean separating Ariadyne and Vertloch. Being stuck in that landlocked village, it was my first time seeing the ocean up close.
I did take a small glimpse of it during my time to the Northern Capital, but this time I got a real close view. The salty smell of the sea as the wind brushed past my nose was calming for some reason, even the waves that were crashing onto the cliff below was a serene blue color.
At the top of the cliff was a small podium-like structure made of solid stone. It had been slightly chipped off from decay over the times and moss was growing on it from disuse. Of course some of the moss was wiped away, most likely from our previous companions from the demon army who had passed through here.
“So what happens now?”
I asked, at this point I was feeling unsatisfied over the entire course of the trip.
“Now, we wait.”
Hearing that made me yawn. In the end we waited for another ten minutes before anything really interesting happened. Just as I was about to think that nothing special would happen someone jumped out of the water and onto the cliff above. That was crazy, they just jumped over a 50-something meter cliff out of the water!
It was a scantily clad, blue haired woman. She was wearing extremely revealing clothes made of nothing but strips of leather and belts. Admittedly it was more akin to swimsuits rather than actual clothing, which made a lot of sense considering this was a city of [Mermaids].
She held a trident kind of weapon with a bright red jewel lodged into the middle. Aura and Elena who were on guard put away their weapons after realizing that it was the representative of the underwater city.
“Emissaries from the demon army, I am called [Ranash], your guide. Our Queen has been expecting your arrival. I will take you to her so please wait a moment.”
If she was expecting our arrival why the heck did we have to wait ten minutes doing nothing? I wanted to protest to her about that but I decided to play Mr. Nice and give up since I didn’t want to start off on the wrong foot, especially when I was here to do negotiations.
Just to be sure, I also checked her name and title. It really got me last time with [Erendel] so this time I wanted to be a bit more thorough.
[Ranash. Level 43, Mermaid Priest]
‘Mermaid Priest’, I don’t even know what that’s supposed to be, but I assume that’s a kind of cleric class?
In any case this was where my real job begins.
Negotiations.
PART FOUR
-Tytania’s PoV-
Slowly as I opened my eyes light poured in like needles stabbing at me, prompting me to quickly shut them once more. I decided to leave my eyes to adjust and focus on trying to regain my other senses. The first to return to me was my sense of hearing, though it was moot since it seemed like the place I was at was completely silent. I twisted my head around trying to get into a better hearing position but all that was heard was the sound of bed-sheets beneath me.
The next sense that returned was my smell. The faint smell of the sea drifted into my nose; salty but fresh. That’s right, the last thing I remember was falling off the cliff with Mr. Raak into the ocean, so this kind of smell wasn’t too unexpected. Still, just trying to remember what happened was giving me a headache thus I decided to leave that matter for later.
Finally my sight had returned to me and once I opened my eyes I saw that I was in an aquatic colored room, down to the curtains and bed-sheets. It was a large room, even the bed I was on was humongous, there were no such rooms in the village that I was living in so this was a new kind of experience for me. Following that train of thought I was reminded of what happened in my village; all of my friends and family… they were all gone now.
Getting up from the bed I noticed that I had been bandaged where I was wounded. It still hurt to move around but I didn’t expect to survive a fall like that either so just being alive should be a miracle for me. Yet, for some reason I only felt emptiness inside, what was the point of living when everyone else was gone?
“Ugh…”
The migraine returned.
For the time being I decided to put that thought on hold and scout out where I was. As I was about to leave the room another person entered in, it was a member of the [mermaid] tribe. Oh, I see so it was them who saved me when I fell into the ocean. The woman in front of me had a majestic set of purple hair, almost as though they were gems that were straightened out into threads. She had skimpy clothing but they were more akin to swimwear so while it was fairly erotic it was perfectly acceptable, not to mention natural since she lived in the ocean.
“Are you feeling any better, Miss?”
She asked with a relaxing voice. I had heard that a long time ago, [Mermaids] were descended from a race known as [Sirens] who had alluring voices that lured men to their demise. Hearing this kind of voice I thought that perhaps that rumor wasn’t as so made up as it sounded, certainly her voice could attract even members of the same gender. Though my heart was too heavy to waver at the moment.
“Y- yes… um, did you save me?”
I asked.
“Well, it wasn’t myself specifically but yes, our people were the ones who saved you when you were drowning whilst heavily injured. You had been sleeping for almost two weeks now, we were starting to wonder if you would ever wake up.”
[Mermaids]… huh? But they have legs, wait I think I’ve heard of this, that [mermaids] have special magic to turn their fish tails into human legs. So this was it, now aside from their florescent colors they’re indistinguishable from humans.
“I see… thank you very much, I’m not entirely sure how I could ever repay your kindness. Still, even though I am eternally grateful, it may have been better if you had just let me died. After all, everyone I knew and loved are gone… I’m not even sure on what I should do anymore…”
Tears rolled down the side of my face, and like haunting apparitions the image of everyone I knew started to surface in my head. They were all killed by that monster, but the worst part is that even if wanted to take revenge he was far too powerful for me. The only recourse for me was to apologize to everyone, that I was too weak to even avenge their deaths.
“Don’t go killing me off just yet simply because you feel like it.”
Suddenly a hoarse voice came from the entrance of the room. A large figure, around 2.1 meters in height with dark grey skin. His skin in a brighter shade of grey and muscles that almost seemed to be bulging out of his skin. His eyes were bloodshot and compounded with his naturally red eyes, it looked quite menacing, not to mention his two sharp teeth protruding out of his mouth from his lower jaw.
“Mr. Raak! You’re still alive!”
He also had several bandages wrapped around him, by the looks of it he actually suffered quite a bit more damage than I did.
“Of course I am, who do you think I am?”
At his appearance I could only shed tears of joy that not everyone had left me. I ran over to him and embraced him to make sure it wasn’t a simple hallucination on my part. As I came into contact with his skin felt his muscular body, I knew that he was real. I’m glad, I’m so very glad.
“Mr. Raak!”
Not knowing what to do, he gently stroke my hair to calm me down.
“Yeah… we did it, Tytania. We survived and we will continue to do so.”
I nodded at his words, still with tears streaming down my face.
Interrupting our little reunion, another [Mermaid] entered our room. She had a light green colored hair, looking slightly older; a face of wisdom and charisma. Likewise, she too wore rather skimpy clothing but her clothing was much more eloquent and profound, kind of like those that were worn by members of royalty. On her head was a small golden tiara adorned with a bright blue gem in the middle.
“Your highness, our guests have arrived.”
She spoke with commanding authority, but the words that came out of her mouth wasn’t exactly what I was expecting.
Eh? Why did the one dressed like a queen address this person in front of me, who was dressed like a servant, as ‘your highness’? was that how it was in this culture? The one that’s least decorated was at a higher societal position? I wasn’t too sure of [Mermaid] culture so it could be a mistake on my part but it really was weird.
“I see, then I’ll be out in a moment, [Miora]”
“I understand. Then please rest up for now.”
She told us as she left the room. We were finally alone; Mr. Raak and myself in this room, with no one else in the world we could call family. It was an odd feeling of kinship and dependency, no it could only be me that was dependent on Mr. Raak. Perhaps I was giving him trouble as we speak. Surely the only reason he is with me is because of the [Grand treasure] that’s within me.
“Am I a bother to you Mr. Raak? I’ve always been clinging to you ever since we were small.”
At my question Mr. Raak gave out a small sigh.
“What are you saying? You’ve always been a bother to me, that’s how we’ve been until now and that’s how we’ll always be. Everyone’s gone so you’re the only one left for me, if you stop being a bother then it would be like everyone disappeared. So stop saying those kinds of things.”
He consoled me as he held me tightly.
“Th- thank you…”
I returned his embrace. We stayed as such for a few minutes before I decided to speak up again.
“What do we do now… Mr. Raak? No home, no family, only the two of us against the world. Where do we go from here?”
He shook his head.
“I don’t know, I guess wherever the wind feels like taking us is where we will go. You must hate it, that our fates are at the mercy of the world, but don’t worry. Whatever happens, I will protect you with my life.”
“I’m fine, as long as I’m with you Mr. Raak. Wherever we end up, as long as I’m with you then I won’t feel as disheartened.”
I tried to muster up as much of a smile as I could. In response I got to see Mr. Raak’s blushing figure, it was oddly cute for someone like him. Yes, I still have someone with me, I haven’t lost everything just yet, as long as he’s here with me then I’ll be fine.
Staying put bedridden was getting a little tough. We [Elves] were not known to be indoor type creatures after all, we needed to wander around to feel alive. Well, that’s what I was feeling right now, and by the way that Mr. Raak was getting a little fidgety he too was feeling anxious inside. It might do well for the both of us to move around a bit, I’m sure our [Mermaid] hosts wouldn’t mind it too much.
“Shall we go, Mr. Raak?”
He gives me a quizzical look.
“Go where?”
“To move around a little. I’m sure it would both of us justice to move about to alleviate the anxiety and stress that’s been pent up because of what happened.”
He turned to contemplate a bit but conceded that I may have had a point.
“I suppose you’re right. My body feels way too stiff from disuse. Then shall we?”
* * *
Once we left the room we were met with a near phantasmal scene. The corridors were dyed blue with the scene of the ocean; we were underground and the walls were actually glass, allowing us to view into the distance of the sea. Fishes, corals, seaweeds, it was truly a sight to behold.
The place we were, while still underwater, it was at a slightly elevated location compared to the rest of the [Mermaid] city: [Lani’tar]. As though they were ghostly phantasms, below were the wavering lights of the city. At first I had thought that this place would be a small tribal village of Mermaids, but that wasn’t the case, indeed there was an entire city.
Though it wasn’t nearly as sizable as the [human] cities, it was in its own right, incredible. Just on the outskirts of the city was a small circular structure, perhaps it would be more apt to say a structure was built onto an underwater mountain. I’ve heard it only in passing whispers but supposedly the [mermaids] had an object of worship known as the [Gladsheim], could it be that was it?
Far off in the distance I could see the shape of a large black fish, with a menacing red glow in its eyes. What was that? Was it also part of this city?
“So pretty.”
I couldn’t help but voice.
“Mmm.”
I wasn’t too sure if Mr. Raak had much appreciation for beauty but by the distant look he was making, the magnificence of this city also sank into him. Somehow seeing Mr. Raak in a good mood also puts me at ease, he too lost everything yet he’s so composed but I think he was just keeping it all in. But the face he has now really is genuine comfort.
Moving further along we descended down some stairs and continued our exploration into the city. I almost felt like a child on a field trip due to how mesmerizing this entire place was. However that all changed the moment we tried to progress further.
“It is an honor to finally meet you, Queen [Amaria Seasong].”
The voice of a child, perhaps no older than eight. For some reason the voice rang heavily in my head, dragging up deep traumas. It couldn’t be…
I was drawn to the voice, I inched closer to the source.
“Tytania?”
Mr. Raak called out to me, but lost in my own thoughts I ignored him. I didn’t mean to be rude but I couldn’t help myself.
There, I saw it. The presence of a well dressed boy. His hair as dark as the night, he was smiling; a fake smile, I could tell because his eyes were not smiling along. But before any of that, that face… that face!
It was him! [Odysseus]! The one that destroyed my entire village! As that realization came to mind, everything went dark, I forgot about everything including my surroundings with only rage to keep me focused.
“Odysseus!”
I shouted as I charged at him in rage, preparing my strongest spell.
PART FIVE
-Morgant Fallon’s PoV-
Using some sort of teleportation mechanism on the podium we were transported to the interior of [Lani’tar]. An aquatic city, it was much more majestic than I had initially thought it to be; an underwater city.
Two [mermaids] came to greet us. One of them was a tall woman with grassy hair and stern face. She had the build and face of a ruler, not only that but her dress while resembling a swimsuit was fairly elegant and decorated. Sitting on her head was a golden tiara with a magnificent blue gem.
The other [mermaid] was a little on the small side, she had icy blue hair and sharp teal colored eyes. From the looks of it she was some sort of attendant.
“Greetings emissaries of the demon lord. We have been expecting your arrival, I am the Mermaid Queen: [Amaria Seasong].”
‘Mermaid Queen’ she says.
I wonder about that.
[Miora. Level 42, Attendant of the Mermaid Queen]
I had read her name beforehand thus wasn’t convinced when she introduced herself. Was this some sort of test or a precaution? In any case the other one should be the ral queen.
[Amaria Seasong, Level 24, Mermaid Queen]
Right, she was a lot less powerful than I had initially imagined. Then again most of the politicians of this world are rather weak as they prefer to leave the combat oriented stuff to their servants.
As they gave me a false queen I returned the favor with a false smile. I walked right past the ‘mermaid queen’ and introduced myself towards the ‘attendant’. I bowed and revealed myself and their little trick.
“It is an honor to finally meet you, Queen Amaria.”
“Eh?”
She had a quizzical face.
“What disrespect is this?!”
Their supposed queen shouts at me but the real queen gestures her to stop the act. Looks like she decided to concede honorably. The attendant, Miora takes off the tiara and hands it back to the real queen.
“My, I’m quite impressed that you-“
“Odysseus!”
Interrupting our meeting was the desperate voice of an enraged woman. Appearing from the corner was a blonde elf, her green eyes filled with bloodlust clearly intended towards me. At her sudden entrance Elena and Aura decided to pull out their weapons to defend me but I signaled them to withdraw. I got the feeling that they’d just kill her if it got too dangerous.
Right now, more than who she is, I was curious about what she just called me. ‘Odysseus’ she said, sure ‘Ulysses’ as another name of Odysseus but no one in this world should know that. This was clearly another reference to my old world, and I wasn’t going to let an unexpected source of information get past me.
Mana spiralled around my assailant and she charged up some sort of spell. From the looks of it and the sudden drop in temperature around her I hazard a guess that it was some sort of [ice] type magic spell. A large ball of ice appeared in front of her and when she got into a certain distance she shot it towards me.
Anger dulls the blade as they say, though I’m not quite sure why she’s so angry at me but her movements were far too predictable. I summoned a [shadow shield] in front of me to tank the hit. Seeing that her attack was useless she was stunned in place with a look of despair.
I moved a bit more forward, still with my [shadow shield] hovering in front of me. I then proceeded to summon two [skeleton knights] in front of me to retaliate if need be. It was a little odd to see lightning strike indoors but two green lightning struck before me and from the ground two [skeleton knights] roared fiercely.
However I wasn’t done yet, I continued my barrage of skills by summoning 7 [shadow lances] on standby, ready to attack if she made any more hostile movements. I made sure that they would hit places that didn’t deliver fatal blows.
Everyone else was watching from the sidelines with a stunned expression, Cedric seemed to be analyzing my powers.
“Who are you?”
I asked, but without answering back she raised her hand towards me, once more gathering mana in order to cast another spell.
[Tytania. Level 32, Guardian of the sacred treasure]
‘Guardian of the sacred treasure’? What’s that supposed to mean? I guess I’ll ask later but for now she was still acting hostile despite her being practically at gunpoint. Was she stupid or was she brave? No she’s just enraged at me for some reason.
Very well then, I won’t kill you so don’t worry, but I will attack.
I moved around my lances in a more direct position, but just before she was about to launch her attack a grey skinned [orc] came to stop the fight. It ran in front of the elf, Tytania and embraced her.
“Stop it Tytania! You’ve got the wrong person!”
Hearing this the mana stopped gathering, a sign that the spell had been cancelled. Calming herself down she was unable to support herself and fell into the [orc’s] arm. For now it seems like the fight had ended without anyone getting hurt, thus I also decided to unsummon all of my skills.
“Are you alright, Morgant?”
Cedric came to ask.
“Yeah. Now then… I’ve got a few questions for you. Miss Tytania.”

"What?!?!” Seeing nothing in her view, she then opened her eyes that had a blindfold covering around her eyes. Seeing colors appear before her as she saw blue in her view, then feeling sadness from above which made her heart ache. ‘Is this… another sense… for my eyes.’ Thinking about it, she did not know if any of this was real or not. “Ning’er! Your awake!” Hearing a woman say, she was hugged by the woman when she could not see who they were. “My silly daughter! Why did you jump into that pond?!” Hearing the woman crying, she had no idea who this was. ‘W-Where did I end up at?!’ Not knowing where she had gone, her mind ran with thoughts since the last thing she could recall was the sound of the bus that she took crashing. *** Time skip… “Are you really fine with a blind woman like me as your wife?” Lin Ning asked the man who had proposed to her. “How many times have I told you.” Wrapping the woman with his single arm, he sealed her lips with his. “Do not ever call yourself a blind woman. You are the woman that I chose out of all of them.” “But…” “Do you regret falling in love with this cripple man?” Cutting her off, he did not allow her to finish.

8 83I Am, Lloyd Garmadon.
This is an AU where Lloyd never wanted to be like Garmadon, but Garmadon wants it to be like father like son. Also, to be clear, unless it's stated by me in an author's note, or the star I use to sign my drawings or painting is on the art, I probably found it on Pinterest and in no way mean to take credit for someone else's art.
