Chapter XIV
PART ONE
[Eternum Calendar - Year 989]
“So, what you’re saying is that somebody that looked similar to me attacked a place known as [Aramelle Village].”
I asked as I took a sip of tea, I tried to confirm what had just been conveyed to me by this orc, [Raak]. As to why I was calmly having a tea party with everyone, well unfortunately my ‘assailant’ the elf, [Tytania] fainted soon after calming down. I had heard she was heavily injured so perhaps she didn’t fully recover or maybe finding out that I wasn’t this ‘Odysseus’ person exceeded her comprehension threshold.
“Yes, he called himself [Odysseus] and controlled a gigantic metal goliath. With it he decimated Aramelle Village along with everyone, except Tytania and myself.”
In any case, she was out and I couldn’t get information from her directly. Thankfully, there was this orc person that the elf was close with so he provided some light to the situation. Ordinarily, I’m quite a cautious person but this time it was something I couldn’t easily overlook.
The one who destroyed Aramelle Village was an eight year old that looked similar to me, on top of that he called himself ‘Odysseus’. With all the facts gathered I think it would be safe to assume that he’s also a reincarnated individual like myself, and that he has the same ability; the [user interface] ability. From what I’ve heard so far I can hazard a guess that this person has chosen [Puppeteer].
“Was there a reason that this individual would attack the village?”
I pressed on. Raak averted his gaze a little then contemplated for a suitable answer. Those actions, he’s hiding something.
“Aramelle Village was claimed under the name of a god named [Nodens]. From what I’ve been told, he is a god that despises the [Demon] race. So for Aramelle Village who’ve had a close relationship with the [orc] tribe, it may have been like treachery. Most likely that’s the reason.”
After he answers he averts his gaze once more. The thing that bothers me more is Tytania’s title, [Guardian of the sacred treasure]. Honestly I would be more inclined to believe that she was the reason that the village was attacked.
Still, this has become a little bit of a headache, assuming that what Raak told me was all true, that would mean that this Odysseus person was working alongside or under Nodens. That being the case, myself who is working with the demon army would become a primary threat and enemy.
This is only my speculation but most people in this world have an individual and racial level cap, for example, the maximum level a person from the [human] race could achieve is somewhere around level 50 ~ 60, and this is in the extremely talented cases, such as the [praetorian knights]. Other races should also be somewhere around there, but the only exception to this rule are reincarnated individuals like myself. Though I have yet to pass level 60, from the way things are going I believe I can easily surpass that cap, but that also applies to Odysseus.
No chance of alliance, no chance of a truce and from the sounds of it he’s plenty enjoying himself toying with the lives of this world’s citizens, that probably means he isn’t too interested in returning to our original world so I could voucher that he’d get in my way of that objective too.
This is quite the headache.
For the duration of this entire conversation [Cedric] has been oddly quiet. I thought he’d burst into laughter to lighten the mood or something but it seems he’s worried about this new threat as well.

“What are you thinking about, Cedric?”
I asked.
“Mmm, it’s just, Nodens is the name of the god that slayed the father of the previous generation demon lord, in other words Lord [Astaroth’s] grandfather. Though we suspected, we weren’t able to entirely confirm it, but it seems true that the leader of the [Crimson Knights] is actually Nodens.”
“More headaches… for now, the Crimson Knights have assumed that Raak and Tytania are dead so it should be safe. At the very least, it would be impossible for we of the demon army to make nice with the Crimson Knights, and an enemy of my enemy is my friend, right. Mr. Raak?”
He breathed a sigh and nodded, conceding that I had a point.
“Indeed, since god has abandoned us, we have no choice but to turn to the devil, huh? Very well then we will defect to the demon army.”
Though it would be unfathomable, if Raak turned against us and revealed information about me to the Crimson Knights, it would be detrimental. So keeping him on a leash was the best alternative. Which brings me to a slightly more concerning issue, I turned my gaze towards the mermaid queen [Amaria Seasong].
“You don’t have to look at me with such eyes, Sir Morgant, I understand that since we have decided to make alliance with the demon army we cannot play nice with the Crimson Knights either. Besides, the Crimson Knights are a [human] centric organization so even if we were to join their ranks we would only be used as slaves or expendable soldiers. That’s the last thing I want for my people, and the demon army has been more hospitable.”
“You have my thanks.”
I replied with a smile. I guess that’s about it, for now keeping a low profile was the best course of action for all of us. I also need to come up with some countermeasure for if I ever come face to face with a puppeteer.
For now it should be safe to put that topic on hold, thus I decided to change the topic to our original purpose.
“Then, Queen Amaria, we were here to make contact with this divine artefact: [Gladsheim], would it be possible to see it right now?”
The queen made a troubled face as she replied.
“Well, that would be a little hard…”
“I understand the religious significance of the artefact to your people but it is something we must see, so I beg of you to consider our position as well.”
“Ah, no that’s not what I meant. I would like to show you as well but unfortunately access to [Gladsheim] has been kind of blocked lately. I’m sure you’re all aware that [Gladsheim] has been protected by a powerful guardian named [Terror of the depths], unfortunately that guardian has gone astray and started to attack everyone regardless of friend or foe.”
“I see, so then the previous representatives were…”
As I trailed off Amaria nodded.
“Yes, we tried to stop them but they insisted on going, as a result they’ve all become…”
She trailed off.
“At the very least I wish to see the situation for myself, would that be okay?”
“Since the guardian has refused to enter into the city directly, I believe if it’s only up to the edge of the city then there should be no problem.”
“Yes, that would, thank you.”
* * *
As we approached the edge of the city I had the honor of meeting my assailant, Tytania once more. It seems that she had recovered after a brief rest, though she still had dark bags under her eyes and her complexion was pale, even her golden hair was starting to fade into a platinum color.

“Tytania! You should be resting, why are you out all the way here?”
She stared at Raak for a few seconds before staggering over to my location. My [life force sensory] allows me to sense hostility as well, but she didn’t have anything like that so I was relatively unguarded, though [Aura] and [Elena] tried to draw their weapons but Cedric stopped them.
Tytania also stared at me for a few seconds before dropping to the floor in a prostrating manner.
“I… I apologize for my rash behavior earlier. Your stature and aura were so similar that I had been convinced that you were the one who was responsible for the destruction of my people. Taking a closer look, though you are similar you are also different people, I realize that now. So once again, please accept my apology.”
“Hmm, I wonder what I should do?”
I asked, sarcastically.
“Morgant?”
Cedric seemed surprised at my response. It would be an easy thing to forgive her, and it wasn’t like I held any enmity towards her either, it’s just that this was a good opportunity to get some more information. Also the way she was trembling while prostrating herself, I got a little bit of a kick out of that… ah, maybe [Lina’s] habit is rubbing off on me.
“Then, I’ll forgive you if you can answer one question.”
“Y- Yes! Anything, please ask me.”
“I was just wondering, what is this [sacred treasure] that you’re the guardian of?” s
“Eh?”
Both Raak’s and Tytania’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“How did you…?”
Raak asked.
“It’s elementary, Mr. Orc. I know a lot of things that many people shouldn’t, however even if you’re curious, a magician never reveals his secrets.”
“I… see”
As I tell him, he has a rather confused look on his face, though he didn’t really understand what I was saying he didn’t question it any further either.
“A- as much as I want to tell you about the [Sacred Treasure], the elders that knew about it were all killed before having a chance to properly explain it to me. All that I know about it is that it contains power that could one day slay the evil gods.”
“Hmm.”
Having a look at her body posture it was rather defensive but that could be due a variety of factors. Most likely she was telling me the truth of the matter. ‘Power that could one day slay the evil gods’ is a rather vague description but still insightful, though a bit meaningless to me since whatever happens to this world after I’m gone is no longer my business.
Though if possible I’d like to leave this world as a better place for my family of this world.
“S- sorry, I wish I could provide you with more information but… that’s all I know. It is possible that the Crimson Knights might know more about it but getting information from them is a rather dangerous and difficult task.”
“It’s fine, it was only a passing curiosity, I’ve no real interest in god slaying items.”
“I- I see, then do you…?”
“Yes, of course, I will completely forgive and forget what happened. I never really held real enmity towards in the first place, Miss Tytania.”
“T- thank you. I’m glad.”
At least one problem was solved, now onto the next.
PART TWO
“That is the [Terror of the Depths] our guardian deity. What has caused it to go berserk is beyond our knowledge… because of this it is currently impossible to enter [Gladsheim].”
Amaria pointed towards the distant ocean, there was a large undersea mountain built around it was a smaller building. I’m probably safe to assume that’s how we’ll reach [Gladsheim]. However, first is the obstacle blocking the pathway to it, which is that super megalodon shark; size was about 40m, so around the size of a blue whale, black skin pigmentation, eyes were a menacing red glow, each of its teeth looked about the size of a human.
It swam repetitively around [Gladsheim], so it was doing its job, I think? But it would attack everyone regardless of friend or foe.
[Guardian Deity. Level 100, Terror of the Depths]
“Troubling.”
I said to myself but everyone else agreed with me.
“I don’t suppose you could take that on, Cedric?”
I asked with no real expectations of a positive answer, I mean if he could do that he would’ve already done so.
“Unfortunately [Slimes] are weak against massive bodies of water. If I were to enter the sea I would dissolve in seconds and all that would be left would be my armor. Though I would love to accomplish my mission that Lord Astaroth gave me, I have no real death wish and I won’t be able to serve her if I died here.”
So this was the true meaning behind why I was here, not for negotiations but to work this out. Were the other 3 demon generals busy or something? Ugh, in any case what should I do?
Incidentally in this place, the water and air wasn’t separated by glass but by magic, so it could be possible for me to shift right through and into the water.
I tried placing my hands in the water, it was rather cool but not to the point of being freezing. I clicked my tongue, I did have one solution but it was a rather vague plan and would be more akin to a gamble than an actually strategy. I’m not one that likes to gamble but it could be that I have no other choice, the story might’ve been a little different if this all took place on land but underwater, my hands are tied.
“Guess I have no choice then…”
“Is something wrong, Morgant?”
Cedric asked.
“Well, this entire situation is wrong, but other than that I do have a possible solution, it’s just a little… uncomfortable.”
“A solution? Of what kind?”
“I’d like to keep it a secret, but it should take around a month or so. Queen Amaria, this solution of mine require the guardian to be slain, is that okay with you?”
I shifted my gaze to her as I asked.
“At this point we have no further choice, the guardian is only swimming around [Gladsheim] for now but it could change its mind, and if that ever comes to be it will be a danger to all of us. So in short, yes if your plan requires the guardian’s disappearance then you have my permission.”
“Thank you. I’ve one small favor for everyone, would you all mind leaving here and only return after a month?”
They all gave each other uneasy looks but ultimately decided to go with my wishes. As everyone left, Cedric was the only remaining person in this vicinity. He placed his hand on my shoulders and asked.
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“Why does you seem like you know what I’m going to do?”
“That’s…”
He trailed off, never finishing that sentence, it seems that he’s figured out what I was going to do. He sure is a perceptive one.
“It’s fine, my curiosity to know [Gladsheim’s] true nature exceeds my concern for safety.”
“So you’ve made up your mind.”
I gave a non-verbal nod.
“Then… I’ll be seeing you in a month. Good luck.”
“Thanks…”
After confirming that no one was within my vicinity I touched the watery walls of the city. I took a deep breath and plunged myself deep into the sea.
PART THREE
This may be a little abrupt but before I start explaining my plan on how I’m going to defeat the guardian, I want to talk about a certain skill of mine: [Life Drain]. Contrary to what you may think, it isn’t a simple damaging and healing spell, it drains the life of the target.
The deciding factor to all this is what is meant by draining ‘life’, or rather what constitutes as ‘death’. Unless an enemy has anti-healing properties to their attacks, as long as I keep conscious I could theoretically continue to drain ‘life’, or rather keep myself from ‘dying’.
Therefore this skill has a lot of uses.
For example, if I drown and suffer from asphyxiation, while it would be incredibly painful and uncomfortable, as long as I stay conscious I could theoretically continue to cast [life drain] to keep myself from dying. I won’t lie, it’s definitely an incredibly frightening prospect, to continue to experience the feeling of drowning for an entire month without breaking concentration.
Another point is that even if I’m impaled, slashed, stabbed or whatever, as long as I can continue to drain life I won’t die, of course that doesn’t make me immune to pain. Also to point is that I will not lose consciousness as long as I am draining life, but that’s different from mental exhaustion. I’ve never tried to stay up for more than a week so this is an all new field for me.
You probably figured out by now what I’m trying to do, basically it’s a gamble, whether I’d lose consciousness from fatigue and mental exhaustion first or the guardian will die first. I’m planning to exploit these properties of [life drain] to slowly whittle away at the guardian.
I swam deep into the ocean and near the mountain where [Gladsheim] was kept. I was a fairly competent swimmer in my previous life, and with my current [strength] stat I had a decent amount of stamina to swim a good distance.
Once I got near the guardian it took notice of me right away.
The one problem was how to continuously keep up with the guardian but that won’t be a problem as long as I’m anchored onto it, and there’s only one place I could anchor myself into.
The mouth of the super megalodon opened and with it a torrent of water was sucked in, as was I. I could feel every inch of my body shaking with fear, but I had a smile on my face as what I was about to do was absurd, in the body of a child no less.
As the guardian drew closer, Cedric’s words came to mind. ‘Are you sure you want to do this?’ Of course I didn’t want to do this! No one in their right mind would even consider doing something so ridiculous!
I’m sure even if I wanted to quit right now no one would complain. Of course I was actually past the point of no return, the guardian already took notice of me and there was no way I could outswim it. All that was left was to calmly wait for the jaws to close.
The alarm that was my [life force sensory] was going off like crazy, telling me that danger was drawing close. HAHAHAHA! I KNOW THAT! I quickly shut my eyes as I await the pain to start.
Just a few centimeters away from the guardian. I was standing face to face with the gates of hell, and hinged between the door was my feeble body, trying to pry myself out.
The gamble had started.
Before I knew it, a gush of pain coursed through my entire body, a pain unlike anything I’ve ever felt and I’ve even been shot a few times in my previous life, but compared to this that was like getting a stabbed with a feather. Everything was burning, even my innards, especially my innards.
My heart, lungs, spine, intestines, liver, stomach, shoulder, arms… every bone in my body was torn apart instantly. But it was a good position because I was firmly lodged in the jaws of the beast. I felt my consciousness wavering bit by bit, and it had only been a few seconds into my plan, to survive an entire month was crazy.
I was completely mad to even think of something this absurd.
But now came the hard part, I was starting to run out of oxygen, well I could feel my throat tightening up, telling my brain that I needed air. My body’s function were starting to shut down, but I couldn’t let it do that, I would really die if it did.
I started [Life Drain] right away as I was starting to acclimate to the intense pain in my body. Actually to be fair, the pain wasn’t that bad because I already went numb after a few seconds, completely paralyzed and unable to feel anything below my shoulders, but I knew I was still alive because there was the feeling of drowning.
My condition started to stabilize; I found an equilibrium between [life drain] and [death]. Holding my demise at bay, there was only one way for me to survive, like it or not I had to endure for a month. Normally after an exceeding amount of pain, the brain would believe that the body has died and begin to shut down, that would be the case for normal people, however I was a little different.
Since I was a [necromancer] I was constantly made aware that I was alive by the fact that I could feel my own [life force] with [life force sensory] thus my brain was not tricked into thinking I was dead. Though arguably this is worse than death, but of course I cannot die until I’ve safely returned to my previous world.
Day 1.
21 hours had passed since I started this ridiculous plan.
I was keeping count of everything to ensure that I don't go insane in the midst of it all.
I had drowned almost 420 times and my internal organs were recreated and destroyed nearly 493 times, my spine was recreated and shattered 503 times.Due to the fact that [life drain] healed me at a faster rate than I was being torn apart, each time my body healed itself it would be forced to once again feel the pain of being torn apart. This was the worst part
A process of destruction and recreation of my body took place several hundred times. I guess the only consolation in all this was that now my [Life Drain] skill was at level 42.
Day 2.
46 hours had passed since this all began. My mind was constantly in turmoil between thinking of just ending this pain and continuing on. I drowned at a rate of once every 3 minutes. This means that I had easily drowned over 920 times. My internal organs were recreated and destroyed approximately 1321 times, my spine shattered and recreated 1421 times.
At this point extreme mental fatigue was starting to set in. I wasn't tired. No, it was mental fatigue. Stress. Luckily for me the physical effects of stress don't actually apply to me since [Life drain] restores even that. It was a godsend of an ability.
Day 6.
I drowned 2880 times.
Day 12.
My internal organs were destroyed 7312 times.
Day 18.
I was amazed at my own tenacity. The pain still hurt but for some reason I was getting used to the extreme bout of pain.
Day 21.
Enduring this hell like environment I actually got something useful out of this ordeal. It came to me in the form of a new skill.
[New skill acquired: [Undead’s Tenacity(Passive)]]
[Undead’s Tenacity: Grant’s the user increased physical defense and regeneration. Starting at 30% physical damage reduction and 1000% health regeneration rate, increases by 10% physical damage reduction and 1000% health regeneration rate every 10 levels]
Wonderful, now I can truly harness the powerful the undead. On a more serious note, after I get out of this alive, this will be extremely useful for my survival. Although the numbers are pretty big, just how fast is 6000% of a human’s natural healing rate? I’m guessing it’s viewable by the naked eye if its 60x faster but still unsure.
Also another interface box came up a few hours later.
[Skill mastered: [Life Drain(Active)]]
With this my survival was somewhat guaranteed, also the guardian was starting to slow down in its movements and its jaw unhinged a little. Just a few more days and I’ll definitely die.
Day 25.
[Skill mastered: [Undead’s Tenacity(Passive)]].
Yay.
Day 26.
...
...
Day 27.
Only a few more days.
I can feel the shark quickly losing its grip on me as well.
Day 28.
The shark has slowed its swimming pace considerably since it began.
Day 29.
The shark is now grounded with me. Normally sharks have to perpetually swim in order to keep alive but this was a monster that didn't even need to do that.
Day 30.
[Skill mastered: [Life Force Sensory(Passive)]]
With it I can feel the life force of the shark fading away.
Day 31.
The shark has only a few hours of life remaining, I just need... to hold... on.
Day 32.
[You have gained (7) level(s)]
* * *
The [Terror of the Depths] has been slain.
My lungs were about to collapse and with no more air, my throat started to tighten and my head rang like crazy.
Honestly I wanted to just give into this massive fatigue that was crawling up at my consciousness. My lungs were filled with just barely enough air to last for a minute or two, and with my body repaired back to its peak physical form all that was left was for me to swim back to [Lani’tar].
However as soon as I tried to swim back I noticed an odd presence near me. A red glowing orb appeared from the carcass of the guardian, at first I was immensely confused as to what it was and to be quite honest I couldn’t care less at this point. Sparing a few seconds I focused my blurred vision to open its [description box].
[Soul of the Guardian Deity]
Other than the name it had no other description, which was weird for an item, but then again this wasn’t really an item. Under normal circumstances I would’ve studied it to find a suitable way of dealing with it but currently I didn’t have the leisure to do so. Thus I hastily touched it, to which another interface box appeared.
[Revive: [Soul of the Guardian Deity]?]
Revive it? Why the hell would I revive it? You know what fine, why not, if it rampages again I’ll just have to do this all over again, and it seems like I can get a few additional buffs and skills every time I do this, so why not.
[Yes]
As I pressed on that button, the ground beneath me started to shake, but since I wasn’t attached to it there wasn’t too much of a problem with losing balance. The carcass of the guardian started to tremble and as it did it kicked up all of the dirt underneath creating a smokescreen.
Dammit, this may have been a bad idea.
When I arose, it looked leagues more sinister than it did before, this time a lot of the skin was flayed off, revealing bits of its innards and skeletal structure, its teeth resembled large saw blades and its ghastly red eyes glowed in the depths of the dark ocean.
Is it friend or foe?
It swam towards me at great speeds, at first I thought I would get eaten a second time, and the worst part was that it didn’t even have life force anymore so I couldn’t drain it. I thought I created a monster but that wasn’t the case, well I mean I did create a monster but it was also a lot friendlier. It picked me up with its teeth gently and swam me back to [Lani’tar].
[New skill acquired: [Summon - Terror of the Depths(Active)]/Requires Level: 100]
An undead minion… it became a zombie minion, and I doubt this creature was able to feel pain anymore, though in some circles this may be a plus. With how it looks now it was truly the [Terror of the Depths] in the spirit and looks.
Dropping me off it once again swam back to resume its duties as the guardian deity… or so I assume, but you know what they say about assuming, though this time it doesn’t look like I’m wrong.
Gravity.
It was such a comforting and painful feeling at the same time.
Finally touching a solid surface, my body felt incredibly heavy, as though my blood had turned to iron. I couldn’t even support myself anymore and fell unconscious, wet on the floor.
PART FOUR
I don’t know how long I’ve been sleeping for but as I opened my eyes I still felt my body as heavy. I guess this is the kind of feeling you get when you wake up from a coma; using your body after a lengthy period of disuse. Surrounding me were Aura, Elena, Cedric, Tytania, Raak and Amaria.
It seems that they had been with me the whole time.
“Uugh… what time is it?”
I asked.
“12:30AM, two weeks after.”
Cedric answers amusingly.
Two weeks, huh.
Trying to get out of the bed I started with my right foot and as I put my weight on it I instantly collapsed to the title floor. Actually since the bed was rather warm, having the cool sensation of the tile floor against my body was a nice change, if not a little unhygienic.
“Lord Morgant, you shouldn’t rush things.”
Aura said as she picked me up.
“Thanks.”
“What happened to the Guardian?”
I tried to change topics while I adjusted to my body once more.
“It has been subdued and access to [Gladsheim] is once again open, though its looks have undergone quite the change. Currently it’s swimming around [Gladsheim] like it did before but does not attack us, all thanks to your efforts, Sir Morgant.”
Queen Amaria explained the situation to me.
“That’s a relief. Then we should go to [Gladsheim] immediately.”
“Ah, please wait, Lord Morgant. You’re still tired from what happened, we can continue on with our mission after you have completely recovered. We will wait for you.”
Elena tells me.
“(Sigh), I guess you have a point. Then please allow me to rest a bit more.”
Everyone gave a hearty nod as I entered slumber once more.
PART FIVE
After another day of resting, we were finally at [Gladsheim]’s entrance. The way we got there was by having the [mermaids] create a special transport bubble for us and have it towed along by them. The view was great, though I’ve seen most of it, but it could be argued that I wasn’t paying attention to the background while I was being mauled to death.
That being said, we entered into a building that encompassed the entire undersea mountain. There was a small entrance at the base which also served as the doors to [Gladsheim]. The entire structure had a vaguely oriental feel to it, with its reddish wooden platforms and lanterns.
Though what surprised me more was the actual entrance to [Gladsheim]. It was a steel door, though it had aged considerably, was half broken and had green moss growing on it, but nonetheless it was a steel door. Manufactured steel door.
“This way please.”
Queen Amaria guided us inside. There was large stretched out hallway made of similar composition; steel. Likewise it was incredibly aged and moss and damage could be seen everywhere. What seemed to be vaguely english words were written on them but I couldn’t make out what it was, but this was a little trouble.
English wasn’t used in this world, so there’s no way for this kind of structure to exist. I mean I could be wrong and this wasn’t english but some ancient language of this world that resembled english characters, but was really unlikely.
“Is something wrong, Morgant?”
Noticing my anxiety, Cedric turned to ask, halting the entire expedition crew.
“No… just thinking about some stuff. Queen Amaria, do you know who it was that built this place or what the language that’s written on the walls are?”
She shook her head.
“Unfortunately we do not know, our ancestors believed that this place was built by ancient gods that protected the land of [Eternis]. And the language inscribed on the walls were their tongue, though we cannot discern what they say.”
“… I see.”
It can’t be…
We continued to walk for a few more minutes before coming across a large broken down steel gate. There was what appeared to be cameras on the top. As we came to a halt before the gates the camera made a ‘winging’ noise as it turned to focus on us, dust and moss falling down with its rusty movements.
“What’s that?”
Aura asked, to which Queen Amaria answered.
“We believe that it is a sort of guard for this place, though it does not attack so do not worry.”
…
After waiting a short while the rusty steel gates opened up with a terrible, trembling noise of rusted metal scraping against each other. The screeching was like tiny needles penetrating my eardrums.
Entering into the main facility of [Gladsheim] we came across a large dome like room. It was littered with computer parts all over, though nearly all of them were out of commission from disuse and time. There were some flickering lights but when we went to touch some of them it didn’t respond.
At this point the worst of the worst had settled into my mind. For sure this place was a relic of my world, but why was it here? No, that was besides the fact, taking a closer look around the place the pieces of technology here were far more advanced than anything I’ve ever seen.
Could it be from an advanced alien species? No, then why was there english written on the walls. Dammit.
“Please, this way.”
Queen Amaria guided us further into the place. We came across a small windowed room and inside it was an undamaged computer terminal. However surrounding the glassed room was a force-field that prevented anyone from entering. There was however a voice commanded access terminal in the doorway, but that too was behind the force-field so it couldn’t be physically hacked, so one absolutely needed the passcode or it seemed to imply it.
“Inside is what we [mermaids] believe to be [Gladsheim]. However over the many millennia we have served this place, it has refused to open its doors. This is as far as anyone has ever gone.”
“Hmm~”
Aura and Tytania whispered in amusement. Cedric started to survey the force-field. The barrier wasn’t electrocuted so touching was fine, but it did repulse our hands or anything it touched it. Elena tried to cast light magic on it but that too was repulsed, which begged to question, if it could repulse magic then the ones who knew about this place also knew about magic.
Then it can’t be anything from my world. Nothing adds up.
Well almost nothing, I did have one things I could try but if I did that it would be the end of everything. It would either confirm or deny everything I knew about this world and my previous world.
“Sir Morgant?”
Noticing my intense glare at the voice command terminal, Queen Amaria called out to me. Ignoring her I walked up to the terminal. I swallowed some spit as I opened my mouth.
“Access Code: X914DELTA.”
As it did the floor beneath us started trembling, my eyes widened with disbelief, everything was wrong. This was wrong. No, it shouldn’t have accepted that access code!
The force-field slowly disappeared and the doors to [Gladsheim] had oppened.
Entering the small area a computerized voice called out to me. Me specifically.
“Welcome back, director Callahad. It has been 2 004 412 993 years, 4 months and 12 days since you last visited.”

The Way Ahead
What do you do when you don't fit in? Edwin never really felt many connections to other people, but as a physics student, that was fine. He didn't really need it, anyway. He was content to peel back the mysteries of the universe... not that there were many left to find. Modern-day research was just too well-established, too well-trodden for any single enthusiast to make any significant headway. But that doesn't apply to other worlds. Not ones where magic and Skills run rampant, where well-defined roles and Classes dominate much of society with little room for novel experimentation from its residents. That kind of world would be perfect for an overeager, newly-minted Alchemist to make his mark. Things are never that easy, though. The Way Ahead is a very slice-of-life story following the story of someone trying to find his place in a world that doesn't know what to do with him. Expect lots of science, lots of alchemy, a few sarcastic quips by the System, and lots of exploration involving the world, self-discovery, and above all, science. After all, further research is always required. Updates every other day at 9 AM PST. Congratulations! For writing a story during the month of November, you have unlocked the Royal Road Writathon Participant path!

If there is no start, then there is no end. Darkness is all one can see, as the emptiness gradually dominates everything. However a light seems to be shining through this vast darkness, A light that isn't bright but rather dark as if it is the same as the darkness around. After a long time this light seems to separate into small pieces of crystals. As they slowly separated a really bright light engulfs everything as it slowly formed matter, then atoms, then molecules. They slowly combined forming stars, planets, meteors and solar systems. All the pieces of the crystals combined together again creating a single being as it smiled at its creation. The being separated itself into 9, as all 9 populated the most suitable planet for life. The 9 of them split once more creating 81 different species that populated the planet. The 81 species were called Gods, The 9 Creators were called Primordial gods and the Begging of it all was called The Creator or also known as The One. The 81 species had offspring that were mortal in comparison with their bodies that were immortal. The offspring were given the ability to reach a higher plain through cultivation, with strict requirements. The Creator Split the crystals once again as he sent them to the planet. However a really small piece managed to get out of its designated trajectory, its whereabouts unknown even to the Creator himself. A few million years later, a planet with life formed in a far away system. Humans were living there as they slowly discovered more and more about the universe. A Person walked inside a cave as he was looking around and found a black crystal. Amazed by the crystal he tried grabbing it, however this ended in his death. Several months later in the Planet inhabited by the 81 species a human child was born.

8 84Time And Thoughts
This a book is where I freely express and convey emotions and my thoughts about topics. It's a place where I spend my TIME putting my THOUGHTS into words in hopes of helping someone. I've written these poems in such a way, so that my viewers can derive their own meaning from them. For me as a person I tend to feel more comforted, when down, by listen to music or reading poems, in which the poem or song is hopeless and gives off the feeling of the protagonist being bluntly hurt. In my poems I write without words of encouragement, but instead comfort the reader through understanding and allowing them to feel.If you ever feel the need to talk to someone or want to know the meaning of one of my poems or just wanna say something feel free to comment or private message me.Please enjoy and be comforted by my book.Highest ranking:#1 poems#1 poembook#2 poemcollection#2 poem#3 poetry#3 poetrycollection#5 sadpoems#5 thoughts#8 emotions#13 freeverse#17 hopeless#20 feelings#24 sadness#36 depressing #44 updating#56 life#70 sad#87 poet
