It had been a while since Mellie checked her screens. As helpful as knowing her advancements, she wasnt sure how to put them to use. She was stronger and smarter for sure but it was a slow creeping thing. She needed less sleep every day. She used to bend iron, now she could shatter it. She knew her levels jumped when she offed someone. She wasnt from this world. She needed help.
Jackson caught the door behind Mellie and slipped in closing it behind. them. Mellie looked through her blackblue lashes at the man who leaned against her door, arms folded. He looked up at her, "That was the song of your people." he stated.
"You know about my people?" She asked, curiously.
"We know the melody but never have I heard the words. I will cherish the song you gave us. The children of darkness always helped the demonkin, just as we have helped them throughout the millenia. We are one people. You are a Daughter of Darkness, no?" Jackson queried.
"I'm a Descendant of Darkness, Saviors and a Fallen Race if that helps?" Mellie questioned like legendary titles were given out like Sunday morning hotcakes. She had been in this world for a week now. And she was sure Jackson was something different, someone she could count on, or at least she had to try. She took off her ring again.
Mellie Adams Manablood Savior lvl 32
Jackson looked at her pointedly "Do you even know of your people?"
Mellie exhaled. "I didnt even know magic existed. I'm lost here. My family is gone. I mean this church of darkness was hundreds of years ago, you know? Like, I know my mom was from Jersey and my Dad was from Maryland and Grandma lived in Florida but I think she was from Virginia..." She rambled, realizing he had no idea what she meant "Different towns on Earth." She clarified. "All I know about this world and its magic is from my System descriptions. And the note I had from the demonkin, which was kind of vague... I lost that with the assholes who caged us. Luckily they just used it as kindling. They probably couldnt read it anyway.." She rambled, further explaining.

"Thats why I asked about your horns. I know it came off as insensitive but I wanted to know and I dont understand anything else." She breathed out the last sentence like the wind had just left her sails. It felt good to talk about this outloud. She stared at him neevously waiting his response. This was it. She was going to get some answers.
Jackson stared at her for a moment before he moved away from the door, locking it behind him. Silently he moved towards her leading her to the sofa, pulling her down on the plush cushion. She followed in a daze, watching him curiously. His coal black eyes were scared and serious, blue locks sliding over his left eye. She wanted to brush it away. Her heart raced. What now?
"Mellie, what you are, you have no idea..." Jackson growled out. Mellie shifted closer, looking up at him, sadly. "Explain... Please." she pleaded with trust in her eyes, brushing against Jackson.
Skill Gained! Seduction lvl 1!
Mellie jumped back as the skill flooded her vision. Blushing, she shared her true status and explained what she noticed about her skills and spells. He listened, patting Mellie's leg for comfort, leaving it there, as she grasped it.
Seduction lvl 2!
"Well the powerleveling your manablood puts you through just helps you expand your soul to reach your capabilities. Every ten stat points put into Intelligence gives you a single increase in your skill or spell capacity." He explained. "So you can handle way more skills and spells than you have at the moment" Strength grows your health bar, as well as your muscles. Endurance helps with your stamina bar and helps with lack of sleep. Dexterity controls your reaction time. Charisma helps you charm your way out of a bad situation. And Luck makes sure things go your way. Luck is an unpredictable skill ." He ticked each attribute off with his five digits as he explained, a smile playing on his lips.
Jackson ran his hands through his hair, sweat trickling down his brow. He took off his hat. It was time to just say it. "I'm a demonkin. And demonkin have been waiting for your return for a long time." He told her. "What happened to the others? You mentioned your mother?" He asked hoping she didnt have a negative reaction. He knew she knew but they never talked about it.
"Yeah there were no others. Coming here was an accident. I'm not even sure if there are others. My mother had my grandmother and that's all the family I knew." She explained.
"Manablood saviors are capable of creation and destruction. Everyone will want to use you." He pointed at her status, "And keep that hidden until you're ready for what comes with it."

"Your limitations are endless. Some people will see you as a saint and some will see you as a weapon. Again, Everyone will want to use you. With or without permission, especially if they know what you are." he warned. "It was said that the first Manablood created this world with their lifeblood, dying in the process. The last Manablood was captured and drained before they could test their capabilities. The demonkin recovered some of that blood, your type of blood in a lich lair. That blood was gifted to your ancestors and used it to fuel their portal. The demonkin blood they tried to bring through tore the rift. There was no way of knowing because it had never been tried before." He breathed, apologizing for their blunder. Mellie nodded along to the information, stoking Jacksons back as she guided him into finishing the story.
Seduction lvl 3!
"There may be more worlds out there than your Earth but with the dissapearance of the church of darkness, and the lack of demonkin to drain, ritual magic was almost lost. I say almost because demon blood is still peddled across Nort." He gave me a pointed look. "The Demonkin that made it underground survived, but we usually don't experienced natural sunlight without losing our nubs for healing potions or our blood for experiments. You can help us."
Mellie took a minute to take all that in. "Do you expect me to die and shit out a new world now?!" She spat out affronted. She scrambled, trying for anything. Pouting, her arms crossed under her chest, pushing her breasts almost out of her worn black top, "Can we wait until I'm really really old?"
Seduction lvl 4! Seduction lvl 5!
Jackson barked out a laugh to Mellies surprise. "Mellie.." he said tucking her strands away from her eyes, "Your life is your own. The only thing I expect you to do is Protect it, as will I." Jackson resolved himself. He got down on one knee.
"Whoa there fella-" Mellie started. Thinking of the seduction skill she just got. It couldn't be that powerful. Right? She guessed she actually didn't care today. Seducing a hot guy in a fantasy world wouldn't be something she was going to regret.
He folded his fist across his chest. "Mellie. I, Prince Jackson pledge my life and fealty to you. I vow to protect and serve you in this life and the next." Mellie bounced up in surprise "I'll follow you anywhere." He growled out the last part trying.
Seduction lvl 6!
"Anywhere?" Mellie quirked a brow blushing a bit. Seduction lvl 3! Jackson leaned in to kiss her. His stubble brushed against her face as his lips crashed against hers. His kisses were hot and fierce. She didnt want to come up for air. His hands slid up and down her curves as they both began frantically removing clothes between kissing and bites. They fell onto the bed and made love until the dawn.
Skill gained! Sex lvl 1!

Mellie woke a few hours later and kissed Jackson on the forehead. She was definitely gonna ride that horse again. Demonkin have this thing on thier dicks that feel for a womans sensitive spots. Dicks look weird, generally speaking but after lifting the blanket.... yeah it was a bit little alien to her but it was the right tool for the job. She bit her lip, dropped the blanket and opened the door, and George's tumbled in the door. He had spent the night there, to give the young ones some private time.
Mellie winced " Sorry we didn't put a sock on the door" she whispered pushing george out of the room. Jackson was sprawled naked on her bed like a pale blue greek god. She snuck another look at his ass hanging out of she sheets and locked the door behind her. George grinned up at her. "Oh shush old man". Mellie chided. "I didnt say nothing." He grinned harder. Mellies face reddened.
"Wheres Linda? " she said changing the topic. "There were a couple of orphan kids in the cargo bay. Theyre half beastkin shes afraid for them being alone in Nort. Lindas been hurting something awful since she lost her boy and shes taking them under her wing. I think she may keep them, if she can find a life to keep them in, we suppose."
Suddenly upom remembering why he was there in the first place, George's face lost all joviality. "What's wrong?" Mellie demanded. "We're missing people. I'm sure of it. Ted's gone for sure. He was a sonofabitch but I owed him 5 coppers from a hand of cards yestersay and i havent seen him all day and he's not the only one. Theres at least 10 gone. If not more. We never really counted anyone. All men too. All different ages."
Mellie took that in. Maybe they fell overboard? Maybe it was theft and murder? Maybe- and a giant tenticle knocked into the boat. Elder Kraken lvl 50. Nope nope nope. Mellie was done with sailing anyways. She was ready for land. Today before she had even rolled out of bed, Mellie had a plan.

Blood Demon's Retirement
Civil War had raged on the Al-Shan Archipelago for the past four decades, only recently coming to an end with the enthronement of the new Emperor. This is not his story. The Blood Demon, renowned general of said civil war, was tired of all the fighting and politicking that had described the last four decades of her existence. All she really wanted to do now is to go out into the world and see the many lands from her father's stories. Thus she retired, and went and did exactly what she wanted. This is the story of what happens when you toss a (retired) war machine with somewhat lacking common sense into an unsuspecting world at peace. Chapters will range from 1-2.5k words, scheduled for release every day from Monday to Friday. First time posting a story on Royal Road here, hoping you folks will enjoy. Expect: -slow going slice of life with occassional faster paced action -world building -detailed anecdotes on the world, its races, the magic system, and whatnot every now and then Do not expect: -romance, other than maybe some passing mentions -politics, again, barring passing mentions Any comments, reviews, and criticism will be much appreciated. And thank you for reading. ---------------------------- Disclaimer: This story is my original work and only posted on the Royal Road and Scribblehub websites. Sometimes, bad things happen to bad people. Joey is one of those bad people. She's not incompetent, but she's not a genius either, unless you count partying. Which you shouldn't. Because getting laid the night before your wedding is not the mark of intelligence, nor moral fortitude. FORTUNATELY, the wheel turns, and the day of that wedding, the city is attacked, and Joey is stolen away, in a manner which is entirely painful and appropriate. She is dragged through the portal, and sentenced to Eternal Torment...which just so happens to be very similar to some-nerd-shit RPG video game (Joey's words, not mine). She goes through class and race selection, meets her new people, gets banished by her people, finds a new people, gets in fights with them, and then ends up in the fabled Camie-Town, where she has to work her way up, from the lowest of the low. Eventually, she'll probably get banished from there too. She's not a good person you guys. Alternative Title: Joey's Adventure in Camie-Town.
