This is a harsh world. A world based on natural selection and the strongest survive. People like me, Khan Freax, are at the bottom of the totem pole in this hierarchy. People all around me have powers and abilities I constantly marvel at, and people like me, sagarus, have none to speak of whatsoever.
I used to be a popular kid in school before everyone got their powers. I used to have a lot of friends, and people would walk up to talk to me out of their own free will. After everyone got their powers though, at around age five, I was shunned out of society as a sagaru. Everything in this society is based off powers and their levels. The higher your power level is, the better your jobs and perks in society are. If you end up having a high enough level then you can even become a protector.
Protectors work for the government to protect it from potnentialand existential threats. The major existential threat that is a constant, are the dimensional openings that open up all the time around the country. The openings send a barrage of being from another world to constantly attack ours for some reason. The news and schools say it's to get our DNA to get powers of their own, but they seem to have better technology than us. So I don't know why they would want our powers so bad.
If you have a lower power level then you are shunned to the outskirts of the town, and you can't get certain things. Even if you have a low power level, people can still make it higher through hard work and training. Sagarus have it the worst though. You can't magically gain a power once you pass a certain age, and if you don't have a power to have a power level then you can't raise that non-existent power level.

Sagarus are usually ostracized from society. Once parents find out their child is a sagaru, they usually disown them. Making their kid homeless, they usually go outside of the city and get killed somehow. That's at least what we hear on the news. Other sagarus, whose parent's don't abandon them usually end up committing suicide from the constant berating they recieve from the outside world. Sagarus usually don't live past the age of eighteen.
Once my parents realized I didn't have a power, they brought me to see almost all of the doctors in the city. We went from office to office, hoping to have one of them stimulate some powers in me to come to the surface. It was an awful and torturous process for me. I was constantly being stuck by needles, getting radiation, and recieving physical therapy to try and stir something up inside of me.
Eventually, my parents accepted the cold truth, and they stopped sending me to doctors to try and stimulate powers. This was a relief to me, but it also troubled me. I didn't know much about sagarus at the time except for the fact that they were bad. I went to school for the first time acknowledging I was a sagaru, and that was quite possibly the worst day of my life. I was constantly berated for the first time in my life by people I thought were my friends just a few weeks ago. I was spat on, kicked, pushed, and verbally abused the whole day. When I went home, I was in tears. When my mom saw me, her eyes, that were already red from crying all last night, teared up, and she dropped on her knees and hugged me. She comforted me by telling me, "Don't cry Khan! We will always be here for you! Please don't cry! You'll make mommy cry everytime if you do."

Sure enough, my parents never abandoned me. It probably had a lot to do with the fact that my grandma was a sagaru, and that made them less discriminatory than others. That is also probably where I got to be a sagaru from. Feeling their support, I made it my personal mission to stay strong and be the best I can be. I want to become a protector one day to show everyone that sagarus can be useful too! I train hard everyday to get my body stronger. Now I'm able to beat low level powers, and stand my ground against mid-levels. Whenever they are in a group though, I get overpowered. Today in school, we are choosing what Highschool we are going to go to. I'm excited for it. This is going to be a turning point in my life!

Everyone is a Superhero! Apart from me
Welcome to Loktharma, where everybody is a superhero from birth. That makes Eugene De Lavet the most special of them all. At eighteen years old, he still has no clue what his superpower is. Loktharma has never been a fair world. There are Worldbreakers who were born to brandish the power of the universe, warp time-space, destroy lands and continents. There are Craftmasters who control the elements and terrorize countries with their might and wits. There are Commoners who are only gifted with power for the finer arts, architecture, military arts, or small-scale elemental manipulation. Even in an unjust world like Loktharma, there is always one constant: everyone is assigned a Flair since birth; the power to do something extraordinary. And then there's Eugene. He's been running around in a secluded forest since birth, training and sparring his ass off. While he can wield a blade better than most at his age, he certainly can't throw a giant boulder using the power of his mind, or turn his skin into diamonds. He has no Flair, no purpose for leveling up his stats, and no idea why General Rizeni Baggardo keeps him confined inside a forest for eighteen years. At least until Lord Pyro—the Craftmaster of Tailiah—unleashes his fury on the forest, searching for a treasure Eugene doesn't even know exists. On a frantic escape for his life, Eugene starts to realize he was a part of something he's been completely oblivious to until now. Along with his companions, Melodi and Azra, he travels the land and unveils the secrets of the world. [The story will be told primarily through the lenses of three main characters, with occasional side character POV chapters. It also draws inspiration from Japanese shounen. So only proceed if you're cool with these aspects.]
