《The Journey to Godhood: A Madman's Dream》Ch: 6

I was at the edge of the Forrest. Before going deeper I decided to practice my magic.
I directed my fire mana towards my hands and imagined a ball of fire. My hands glowed red for a moment and a ball of fire appeared.
"Ah, fire ball a classic." I nodded to myself in satisfaction. The fire ball was hot and was big as a football.
I put away the fire ball and casted a small ball of light so I could see in the dark Forrest.
I didn't have my night vision yet.
Walking around the Forrest, I was always on guard who knows what types of beast will come out for my ass.
I didn't dare to venture too deep into the Forrest so I was only taking a stroll at the edge.
Suddenly a rustling sound could be heard from the bush and a horned rabbit appeared.
I was scared for a second, but fortunately it turned out to be trash.
The rabbits eyes glowed red and emitted out killing intend while licking its lips.
The killing intend from the horned rabbit rose my own without my control. My blood felt like boiling and my mind was filled with slaughter. This feeling was overbearing. This was like the time I fought against Eliza. Great, a part of the seal came off, it must be because I took the pill.
My dagger was in a reserve grip to look cool, I needed to be careful however. In my former life I was involved in many fisticuffs but this is on another level with magic and stuff like that.
While I was thinking how to engage this rabbit it dashed at me with unbelievable speed. In a blink of an eye its horn was almost at my throat.
I could block its horn with my dagger in the last second. The force of impact made me take a few steps back.
A feeling of fear appeared and disappeared as quick, my body begun to emit out a dark aura.
"I'm going to kill you and your whole clan of rabbits. Then I'll have a great feast with roasted rabbit."
As if it it understood my meaning the rabbit became enraged.
This time I wouldn't let it have the upper hand. I dashed with great speeds and aimed my dagger at its small body.
Unfortunately I didn't hit, that bastard dodged my sure kill strike.
The fight went on for a while with no one hitting the other. I had to end it quick before more beasts would be drawn to the fight.
Since I was not used to magic I only fought with my dagger. Also maintaining the light magic while fighting was quite difficult, I was still a novice after all.
The rabbit dashed at me again. I stretch out my left hand before its horn. The horn impaled my left hand almost shredding it into pieces. I held him down, the horned rabbit couldn't escape from my grasp.
"I won. Good bye mister Rabbit."

I cut off his head, the body spasmed before turning lifeless.
Fear and unwillingness showed on its cut off head.
"Damn this bastard was stronger than I thought. I can't underestimate this world. Who would have thought that a cute rabbit would turn out to be a killing machine."
Looking at my disfigured hand I felt no pain, the seed of hatred took care of it.
I casted heal on my hand and it slowly healed. After my hand was healed I begun to gut the rabbit, I took the fur as a trophy.
I took its fur and made myself a new robe.
The robe had magical and physical defense, it wasn't much but it was better than nothing.
I wondered if there was a monster core inside the rabbit carcass. Looking through its body I found a red core, it was small like a pea.
I converted my old robe in to linen bag where I put the fur, monster core and the horn.
Today's bounty was plenty. I still need to work on my magic thought, the only thing I can cast were the most basic spells.
"Aouuuu"
Okay time to go, I heard a wolfs cry and it was pretty close.
Turning back I wanted to head home. In the nearby bushes a pair of red eyes appeared, then two, three no four.
Okay I go the other way then.
Turning back the situation wasn't better with five pairs of red eyes staring at me.
"Come out little doggies."
I wasn't disappointed the wolves jumped out of the bushes at the same time. They were pretty big, since I was still an infant they felt like giant wolves.
Also who would have guessed they have a horns on their head.
Good thing I made myself a new robe.
Behind me were four and in front of me five little doggies with the boss at the back. It was twice as big the other wolves.
"Aouuu"
The boss gave the signal to attack and eight wolves came at me from all directions.
Fear crept up but was suppressed by the seed of hatred, a dark aura gushed out in waves enhancing my body and its senses.
I leaped into the air towards home. These suckers can play with themselves.
"I don't wanna fight, I'm outtie."
Before I could take a few steps the big boss appeared looking at me with a mocking smile.
"You leave me no choice huh?"
I dashed back towards the pack, the boss didn't join the fight, it was just preventing me from fleeing.
I stabbed at the closest wolf while jumping. The dagger went trough its head, killing it. Suddenly the wolves took a step back, hesitating.
Blood gushed out of its head when I pulled out my dagger. The wolves were stronger than the horned rabbit but they were not as fast.
An enraged howl came from behind, I turned around the boss was just a few meters away.
I canceled my light magic and casted a earth wall. The boss crashed against the wall and a hole appeared in the wall. The alpha wolf tried to bite me but I made a graceful back flip landing behind the pack of wolves.

I had to act quick taking out the monster core I threw my linen bag away. I converted the monster core into a Uzi machine pistol with two spare mags.
While the boss was still struggling to get out of the wall I aimed at the pack and begun to shoot.
The horned wolves died one after another leaving behind a lake of blood.
Realizing what happened the remaining two wolves fled.
The earth wall crumbled and the boss was free.
With a pained cry he begun running towards me. I jumped back and shot a whole magazine of lead.
The bullets didn't go through the wounds were swallow. I did some damage though, making the wolf stop . Quickly changing the magazine I shot again.
"You persistent dog. You are worthy, so let's fight to death."
I converted the Uzi into a hand grenade and pulled out the pin.
I dashed with my greatest speed. We were both getting close, the wolf opened its mouth to bite down. I was waiting for this moment.
I shoved my hand with the grenade inside its mouth, the wolf bit down. I was lucky that it didn't swallow me whole.
"Good bye Mr.. Wolf."
I let go of the hand grenade.
Boom.
The wolves head exploded and I was blown away. I took some serious damage. Looking at my body there were splinters all over my body.
Also I was now one armed, I had lost my left arm. Oh man, what would my parents think.
I had to admit this was pretty exciting.
I guided the splinters out of my body with magic before casting heal on myself.
After the fight I became tired, I didn't noticed while fighting but my strength and mana pool were pretty low.
I took my whole stuff and put it in a hole that I dug with my last remaining mana.
Going to the outer edge I jumped on a tree to sleep. It would be suspicious when they wake me up in my room with a missing arm
If they were to find me in the Forrest they could at least blame some third party.
It was pretty cold without my robe so I shat my pants to provide some heat.

"Thorus."
"Thorus where are you?"
The sound of people screaming for my name woke me up. I jumped down and pretended to be unconscious.
"Roland, Sophie I have found him." I opened my eyes and saw a middle aged man.
Seeing in what state I was in he was shocked at first then a pained expression could be seen.
My parents made their way through.
"George is he alright?" The man named George didn't answer which made my parents more anxious.
When my parents saw me their faces went deadly white. Tears welled up in their eyes.
"Noo, this can't be." My mother took me in her arms. She rested her head on my shoulder crying.
"Who did this to you. I'm going to kill him." My father roared with fury.
Back at my home the village doctor checked my condition.
"How is he?" Asked my mother her eyes were still red from crying.
The doctor sighed.
"He is alright. Except for his missing arm he is healthy, someone must have healed him. There is nothing much I can do."
"Thank the goddess. Who ever saved him is our benefactor."
"But why didn't the person brought him to the village and left Thorus in the Forrest?"
"Dear he must have been an expert, you never know what these kind of people are thinking."
Now with my left arm gone I can be called a veteran that has braved great dangers. I was not worried about it, I could regrow my left arm anytime I want.

The next days were truly a test for my loving parents. They would barely speak with one another. Over the days they had argued a lot giving each other the blame for what happened.
Every time my mother saw me she broke out into tears. They wouldn't allow me to sleep in my room alone so I had to sleep in theirs.
One day two guards came by and asked my parents about the incident, since they believed that it was a failed kidnapping.
"So can you tell me what happened?" A guard asked my father.
"We don't know. When Sophie wanted to wake up Thorus he wasn't in his bed. We, with some villagers looked for him and found him in the outer edge of the Forrest."
"Hmm."
The blond haired guard was thinking. He wore a much better armor then the other guard so he must have been his superior. These guards must come from a nearby town. Since the armor my father wore as a village guard was of a much lower quality.
"Do you have any clues?" Asked my mother.
"There are a group called the brotherhood of darkness. They are notorious for kidnapping small infants from low guarded villages. They could also have been slave traders"
The face of my mother changed color. She probably imagined what would happen if I were to get kidnapped by these people.
"Is there anything else you can tell us?" The other guard asked.
"Yes, some expert healed my son. We still don't know what happened for him to lose an arm but I guess that there was a battle and my son got involved."
"He is luckily to be alive. Don't worry we will investigate this matter."
"We thank you." My father bowed slightly. With a nod the guards left the house.
